Just thought I’d check back and make sure I didn’t dream we had lost only 1 of our last 10 games.

Then I checked and we were top of our Europa League group.

Then I went on CQN and we need to sack our new gaffer….

Worth re-posting for some of the idiots on here.

To be fair,we slag off ex-huns who say everything in the garden is rosy.

There’s a difference between pointing out that everything in the garden is NOT rosy, and taking the soup.

We can obviously play better but brave performance. Lot’s of chances taken by the coach and could have backfired.

    —-

I think our problems were more about ‘taking chances’ with some shockingly slack passing out of defence and not ‘taking chances’.

Thunder Road @10.02. In that much of a happy clapper am I ?!?

    ;-)

    You’re almost certainly correct Sir.

  4. Everyone forgets the poor games under previous managers…. This is not a new phenomenon.

I thought earlier about the Seville run, we had some very ropey performances. It happens

  5. Turkeybhoy….. I’m hearing you sir.

    We’ve won tonight ….

    Sitting top of group

And our support want manager sacked

    Saddens me

I feel very strongly that Ronny will not be our coach at the end of the season.

If I`m right, then the sooner he goes the better.

I very much hope that I`m wrong

  7. What is the Stars on

Turkey bhoy, why shouldn’t Sutton criticise the manager, what is he meant to do? Deny the evidence of his own eyes and pretend ronny is a good manager. Even the most pro ronny loyalist on here can’t say ronny is a good manager, all they can say is “give him time”, and support him etc all very noble and worthwhile” faithful through and through etc” but ……

I still back RD as manager. I don’t back those who appointed him.

  9. WGS…sticking up for us as ever on itv…gotta say …he does it more than anyone

..never heard him say a bad word against us…

    .

  10. I would suggest that all of us on here ( well mostly all)))want us to win and win playing well-a desire that perhaps might not always be achievable and I’ll take winning ugly any day.

What I want ( and I really really want :)) is to be building just now a team that will compete in next years CL qualifiers( provided we overtake the mighty Hamilton !) – not a squad of loanee signings that mostly won’t be there..Tonev-Wakaso-Denayer-Berget etc

Let’s see progress with players that want to play for us now-and next year whether that be new jan signings or youth ..and sign Craig Gordon on a new “pardew” 9 year deal ..hh

  11. I am taking a rest from this site for a while.Far too many trumpets who seem happy to slaughter a new manager.I will be back to make you eat your words.

Filthy night,……. superb to take three points

Made the mistake of reading back through the Blog live updates, dear oh dear.

McGregor was marked out of the game, and too often Izzy and Lustig absent without leave, playing too far forward, even for our Thursday night level. But we escaped, in the first half especially, and scored two very good goals.

Stokes and RD believe in the law of averages, and a perfect whipped ball delivery eventually undone the opponents. Fitness, and determination won the day and whilst Astra missed chances, so did we, but they’ll be lowlighted.

If Beram Kayal could finish he wouldn’t be in Scotland, but RD’s substitutions helped close out the game ensuring the three points, and we’ve repeated the Zagreb home result.

This Celtic squad could still win the group, and I hear the ‘Evil Genius’ was very impressed.

  13. If we played as we did tonight in the Europa final and won the cup….

What would the reaction be ?

  14. What is the Stars on

    Michaelj,

Very good. Tell me this, what is it exactly that you think ronny brings to the table

  15. Our Europa league run reminds me very much of Scotland’s qualifying campaign. Good results, not hugely impressive performances.

That we are also having an indifferent league season leads to some additional (unfair) criticism in Europe.

We are still far from perfect………….or even good!

  16. Is RD’s message/philosophy being communicated badly? R the players having trouble understanding it? Or is it that the squad isn’t good enuff 2 implement it? Maybe he should play to the current squads’ strengths untill he has a full 1 of his own players. Will he, should he, be given that time and our backing to achieve what he ultimately wants to achieve?

    Hail Hail

  17. Macjay…then you couldnt have read PL’s statement …was in celticnewsnow.

    Video celts….buckle in mate…Deila aint going nowhere…

  18. Well said turkey

Bored of the moaners and whiners now. Some of you have backed so far into the ‘Corner of Negativity’ (say it again with an X factor voice) it’s going to be hard getting back to enjoying the fitbaw. Good luck lhads.

  19. saltires en sevilla on

I doubt anyone who supports Celts will be thrilled at some of the weaknesses in team tonight, and in some previous performances

Criticism and even gut reaction ‘shouts’ during the games is expected and understandable to certain extent

To come on and constantly shout for our manager to be sacked appears odd

    Results first, performances second

  20. Some of you arseholes are not happy unless we are getting pumped every week!!

I wouldn’t like to be your cat!

    Fannies.

  21. The ones that come on here saying rony ,should be replaced ,ok the million dollar question who do you want to replace him with,

  22. OK Guys,I will put my cards on the table,I am 68 years of age,and I have seldom been so disillusioned by our standard of team.

I do not place the blame on our manager, but rather on our CEO and Scounting Dept.,

Nevertheless our performance tonight was DIRE.What is happening within our club. Please can someone tell me ?

  23. Awe_Naw_No_Annoni_Oan_Anaw_Noo on

How many times have I seen supposed good Celtic teams do nowt in Europe.

I am happy tonight. Off to bed happy.

Get the RIGHT players in and keep playing the way we are playing.

btw Scepovic is one of those players as is Denayer, who is a better player than VVD

    Night night lhads

    Onwards and upwards
