  1. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

    Turkeybhoy

    Hunguffery………turkeybhoyguffery………

I watched the guy’s reaction to the incident, no Hunguffery, merely my observation.

Now if you want to imagine stuff, that’s really up to you.

Now if you examine what Iwrote how do you get something so wrong ?

  2. My overriding feeling is one of relief. that’s one in the Bank but from now on every game is a Cup Final.

Some lovely posts on here from Tom & Leftie in particular and must say the day got me thinking back too. Won’t add to the nostalgia but there were tears from me as well, when the Cup was lifted.

P.S. Both Cork hurlers & footballers had great away wins today, so just a super day.

  3. Why is it so difficult to give a big “Well done”to the referee today. His linesman, sorry,no.The referee,a job well done.

I am a real Celtic fan,not a stupid hun who sees everything through blue coloured specs,as on Hun Media. If the ref does us over,I will say so,if he is 100% fair,as he was today,I will say so.Today he was, well done Madden.

W2ont go down well with some of the more rabid among us,but let them come back and tell me what BIG decisions went against us.

  4. Madden was good today but he was looking to his linesman ready to point to the spot in the first half when Broonie outmuscled Dow. I was directly in line with the incident and Madden waited a couple of seconds and was looking over to him. when the linesman didn’t flag he gave the goal kick.

  5. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

A great day watching Celtic lift the cup, I don’t get to watch

Celtic much away from CP these day’s,thought our support

was fantastic,it’s usually left to the GB.

Performance wise thought we were more than good enough

for DU,think we gave a gear or two in us mind you,Stokes,

Bitton, VVD, get special mentions for me.

Another big game on Wednesday,it’s not ideal playing the same

side four times in a row, hope we get a decent turnout.

Ps had my lassie with me today, her first final, thrilled to bit’s

    she was.

  6. From the bbcs McNamara interview;

“A lot of things went against us today, a lot of inconsistencies, shall we say.”

Didn’t hear him complaining last week.

  7. Delighted with the win today, even more delighted that we didn’t suffer a couple of serious injuries to Izzy & Bitton which could have a major bearing on the remainder of our season.

Dundee Utd got out of the match exactly what they deserved – absolutely nothing, damage limitation from the off and I fully expect even more in the cup replay.

Hopefully Ronny will ensure we start at a much higher tempo, give Griffiths a striker partner instead of a supporting one. I’d leave Guidetti to keep the bench warm, no idea what Scepovic has done but feel sure if he gets 2-3 games under his belt he would move us further ahead of the pack.

Ambrose recovered from a sticky start, but hope to see either Lustig or Matthews back in the right back berth. Forrest would definitely get the nod to start from me, no penalties though that was a pathetic attempt. About time we gave the opposition a resounding drubbing and no better an opponent than this lot who like to dive, cheat and leave the boot in whenever possible, not to mention badgering the referee. On the home straight bhoys, time to put the foot down and really show what we are capable of.

Enjoy the celebrations tonight, but tomorrow everything starts afresh – onward to bigger and better things Bhoys.

  8. Madden would have been absolutely correct to wait a couple of seconds and to look for guidance from his linesman. It was a touch and go decision so what else would you expect a ref to do.

To be honest I would have been screaming blue murder if the positions were reversed, I thought it was a penalty.

    20:09 on 15 March, 2015

The main thing that went against him was his negative tactics and his total naivety of allowing us to play with an extra man when his captain went off for treatment. Hadn’t a clue what was happening, and after we scored had a sub ready to come on (5 mins too late).

  10. BIG-CUP-WINNERS,

As I said earlier, tell me one decision the referee got wrong?.I mean a real decision, not a throw in,or a free kick in the middle of the park..He sent off a Dundee player,he knocked back a decent shout for a penalty for Dundee. If he was such a hun,I am sure it would have been easy to give a hun decision in both decisions.

    Get a grip,FFS.

  11. Always liked Jackie Mac as a player for us…..but by feck getting fed up with his wingin

because he can’t win as a manager.

    UP YOURS JACKIE!

  12. timbhoy in spain

    Hope so!

Id take him in a minute :)

Yeah he has been….erm….competitive against us but there is a will to win in the big guy, a fantastic work ethic, a good awareness of what’s going on around him i.e. positional sense and tactical but he also has a lot of ability and can play that lone striker role because of those attributes.

Yip….id have him in the hoops IF i could.

  13. 50 shades of green on

Anybody else think they were trying to put Nir out for wed knowing that Joe Hanson was already out, or was it just me.

Not seen it on TV yet but from my vantage point at the dump, the sitting doon guy just about shaded it for mom, Stokes and his twin left sided pal Izzy were both fantastic but 2 can’t get mom (can they ).

Maybe it’s because the black stuff is starting to mellow me, but you can’t beat standing with your son singing YNWA as our team is winning a cup.

A wee word about the fans today ( I wasn’t near HT ) but just before half time the Celtic end went into the loudest rendition of ROH I have ever had the privilege to be part of.

Anyway black stuff running low, need to get to the bar just want to say never mind mom, man of the day goes to Tom Mcg , hope you and your parents enjoyed that today mate, cherish the time left with them buddy.

    H.H

  14. Long time lurker – very very rare poster. Left hand side excellent. Toss up between Izzy & Stokes for MOTM in my opinion…

  15. Delaneys Dunky on

    Corkcelt

My 2 sons 2 daughters and I all thought it was a penalty Broonie elbowing Dow.

    Madden is our fairest ref.

  16. Captain Beefheart on

    Evening Joe.

Terrific day. Celtic win + I enjoyed the company of some bewildered foreign visitors. Always enriching to meet non Scots/British.

Stokes does my head in. He has ability but is wasting it. JF was quite entitled to take that kick.

  17. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

I wonder how many of our brave hearts would have been

fighting for the ball at the pen if we were losing 1-0.

  18. timbhoy in spain on

TR,if we get many more of DU’s players we’ll be called Celtic United.

    No thanks. ( Thumbs Up)

  19. Paul67 etal.

I’ts nice to see Ronnie getting his first piece of silverware after a run of 45 games or so off ups and downs over the season, hope he can go on and win the other games over Dundee Utd and then go on to win the treble, I was happy when he arrived but like many others when the European ties had come and gone knocked out of European football for another season, I then had my doubts about Ronnie, but was glad he got the chance to get the full season of managing the team. We will reap the benefit over the coming years, He’s still not managing his own set of players but that will come in the years to come.

I can’t say much about the team that hasn’t been said by others before me, I liked it when Adam sat down at the goal post and done a Broonie, well it made me laugh anyway.

I haven’t said anything about Friday yet, I was in recovery mode all day yesterday, and just stuck my head above the parapet this morning.

I really wasn’t that keen on going but I got a call from Lennybhoy saying he had a ticket for me, ( by the way I owe some charity £50) probably give it to Paul and stick it in to the Golf day charity fund, anyway DB, thanks for the ticket, I enjoyed the night so much that’s why I’ve decided to put it down on paper, Great night, highlighted by the two singers, they were great entertainment on their own and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them, great company at our table, yes ,I enjoyed my night, it was great, and that is from someone who wasn’t going to go, I would have missed a great night.

Finally, I’d like to tell you a wee true story that happened on Friday night, At the Auction part of the night I decided to try and get one of the Auction prizes and bid on a few items, and not getting any thing, then the Original framed copy of the Sunday Herald Piece came up I thought that this would be ideal for me as I had another reason for trying to get it, I think the bidding started at £100 and gradually went up to £400, I went to £450 then someone bid £500 I decided to call it a day, good luck to the guy who outbid me but he deserved his prize.

Anyway the story doesn’t end there, I went to the toilet as you do when you embibe quite a bit over the day, BT and I started around 2.30 in the afternoon, ( by the way the afternoon session was great entertainment on it’s own,) ( two enjoyments in one day) I went to the toilet and a guy came in and we started talking, I think the first thing he said was that he wanted me to have the prize we were bidding on,( the one that went for £500) I thought he was joking, He introduced himself as DavieL a long time blogger, in fact one of the first bloggers on CQN, I was stunned, shocked, a tear in my eye, He said he had given it to Paul for me, and he wouldn’t take it back, I asked him why?, he gave me a reply which I’ll keep to myself, but I went back to the hall and spoke to Paul, he verified that it was a gift to me.

I’ll finish of the Story by explaining why I wanted to buy the auction lot, Aberdour is coming up in a few months, and I was thinking that, that item would be a good prize for the Auction at Aberdour, I hope it can raise as much as Davie L paid for it, so Davie, Your prize is going into another auction I hope you don’t mind, and I just hope it raises as much as you paid for it.

Thanks for being so generous, I hope you don’t mind me doing this.

I know I’ve said this many times before, but CQN is a magic place, I’ll post as long as my brain keeps working, mind you it could be the arthritis that stops me posting first.

    HAIL HAIL.

  20. In terms of singing, I thought I tried very hard today but felt that i forced the play a bit and started out too high.

A lot of solid singers around me but I felt I went the extra mile but failed a few times

Scared if the newspaper reviews tomorrow!

Toooo much beer is a paradox and as the song says…..i just can’t get enough :)

We may view things differently in the morning though :)

  23. Lovely day, just a lovely day.

Gazebo relocated to Burnside, couple of pre match beers. Nice!

At the match, I thought we were comfortable, in control throughout.

Stokesy, after a lazy start, was excellent the way he exploited the extra room after the sending off.

The centre of Jason, VVD, Broonie and Nir make us awesome.

    Great day overall.

Not working tomorrow so I’m off to the mancave to watch it all over again.

2015 could be a very good year.
