    Very good day and the first leg of the treble is there.

     

     

    Good company before the match. Support in good voice and reasonable humour and the team deserved their victory on a slippy new surface.

     

     

    Celtic 2 Dundee United 0

     

     

    Well done to the usual scapegoats, Stokesie who is a good link man and was showboating by the end, Jamesie who scored and won the penalty (despite committing the heinous crime of cutting inside to win it) and to Efe, who had a terrible start to the game but grew into it as it wore on.

    This wee Celtic team of Ronny’s can definitely make themselves Celtic legends.

     

     

    Have to say that we have had some outstanding teams in recent history, and I include Tommy Burns’ Celtic side – the greatest entertainers.

     

     

    Also Lenny’s wee team during his first full season at the helm.

    Now, I was talking to ma Auld Da, I thought the player big Nan put up earlier this week as having made his debut 100 years ago this week for the Bhoys was his Auld Granda ?

     

    Believe it or not I have never looked into this

     

    He is positive not, as his name was Celtic Jock :-), the player Big Nan put up was Pat

     

     

    Any ideas ? Cause I cannot see the player John with us, but can see Pat

     

     

    Ma Da also says he signed for Celtic fae Airdrie, big Nans named played was from East Stirling ?

    natknow, yes the bold bhoy did stay, we stayed off the booze this year. The 10 pints of the black stuff were enough. The wee bhoy was delighted with his Stewart Armstrong autograph and pen :) I think I could face a pint now.

    With Guidetti setting up Forrest for his goal I think he was furious that Forrest never returned the favour by letting him take the pen. That’s certainly how it looked live on the tele. Guidetti looked well upset. Hope there’s no relationship damage – we dont need it.

     

     

    Apart from that, absolutely brilliant result, the confidence will flood thru the squad now and we should see the benefit of that in the league run in.

    Re: misfiring strikers ….We are definitely a different and better team when SA and GMS play … much more movement. Their absence was definitely seen in our style of play in the last few games …. their movement, allied with SJ’s movement, creates more space (and hence, chances) for our strikers.

     

     

    AS, although he had a decent game today, doesn’t strike me as a ‘RD’ style of player .

     

     

    I hadn’t seen enough of either GMS or SA before they signed to really appreciated how good they are/can become ….. GMS is a smart skillful player, and SA (like NB) has a football intelligence and drives the team forward and is a future Celtic captain ….

     

     

    the few weeks the two of them were playing was probably the best period of football we have played this season ….. more pace, and more movement …. and better chances for the strikers ….

     

     

    they seem to me to play the way RD wants the team to play …. I think next season we will see a very different team to the one we watched today.

    Great result poor game. Greetings from Phoenix, watched the game with about 30 local Tims. Had one Guinness after the game as s thirty minute drive away from the hotel. Aff Oot (side) to doss in the sun.

    Just in from boozer, not read back but what a blinking weekend I have had from 4pm on Friday till right now it’s been amazing, so glad for Ronny and the team, Scott Brown enjoy your celebrations you are my cup of tea, as for anybody reading or posting who doesn’t support us, have a great night as well, more to be pitied than laughed at

    Sunday 15th

     

    Frank has now joined me on the hunger-strike. I saw the boys at Mass today which I enjoyed. Fr Toner said Mass.

     

    Again it was a pretty boring day. I had a bit of trouble to get slopped out tonight and to get water.

     

    I have a visit tomorrow and it will be good to see my family. I am also looking forward to the walk in the fresh air, it will tire me out, but I hope the weather is good. I must go.

    Studs up illegal challenge, pretty sure thats violent play, so he should miss the next game, we all thought big Virgil was out of todays game (until the successful appeal) and Dillons offence was definitely more violent, hope he’s out anyway, take any advantage we can get, legally of course:-)

    I agree. You could see Sean Dillon realised he was late. It was a red card tackle but not malicious in my view.

     

    McGowan tackle and Patons that they were both booked for were both full of intent.

    Just back, without playing well an easy victory. Guidetti a disgrace, a petulant child, hope we don’t see him in the hoops again.

     

    Broonie MOTM, especially for second half performance. Stokes, who I am usually critical of also played well.
