I am trying to drag her out on Tuesday ( her birthday). She isnae one for pubs though, especially Partick auld men wans. :))
We never hit the heights today but did more than enough to deserve our victory Well done Ronny, the first one is always the hardest.
It will be a hard grind on Weds, so not too much celebrating tonight bhoys.

Brilliant mate, sometimes things that happen during games don’t really come across on the old box, but if its as you say and I’m 100% it is then it’s a keeper for me.
I get a bit emotional during things like that thinking of my wee dad and how he would have loved it, Wee Shades just looks up at me (well eye to eye really if truth be told )and shakes his head as my eyes fill up, weans eh who’d hiv them :-)

Billy Connelly was 2 years above me at St Gerrards.I played for St Gerrards in 1962 against St Mungos at Celtic Park,in a Glasgow tournament of some kind,we won 3-2.I played a couple of years later at Petershill,and St Mungos beat us 2-1.Great memories.Many thanks.
Govan was a great place then.Do you remember the “Govan Fair”?.Thousands on the Streets,and not a bit of bigotry to be seen.
Thought Efe was excellent today after the first 15 minutes.He wasnt alone in being very slack for that initial period.Stokesy and Izzy in the second half were just taking the urine but for the man of the match for me it had to be our captain Broonie.

Never in all my years watching Celtic have I turned to another “fan” and told them to shut up! The final straw after they booed James onto the pitch was calling Stokes a retard!! This from allegedly one of our own!! Really put a dampner on our day! Absolutely disgusted!
Rest of the support were magnificent as usual!

I’m obviously in a minority, didn’t think Broonie’s challenge was a penalty.Thought it was shoulder to shoulder and yes a slight push with the arm when he was on the way down but it’s my opinion. I’ve always been against the view of “If that had happened outside the box?” because a free kick is a world of difference to a penalty and a mistake outside the box is redeemable.Anyway, doesn’t matter.One down two to go.
Can I say a big well done to the Celtic supporters at Hampden today I thought you boys were great and you added to the occasion I am certain you were the twelth man.H.H.

Hopefully we will be back at Hampden for a semi final and final and you will have a better experience.

Not so sure you’re in a minority.
Six of us, not one thinks it was a penalty.
The follow through on Griffiths was more of a pen.
As I posted earlier if it’s your team attacking you shout for it and then if the ref awards it you roll about laughing.
Delighted for Ronny and the Bhoys today! The only minor disappointment was the penalty miss. Interestingly enough our last 7 goals in league cup finals have came from 3 Scotsmen, 2 Irishmen, a Welshman and an Englishman!
Looking forward to Wednesday, another massive game…keep em coming!
I’d give Broonie MOTM for his second half performance, he was superb.

Some great posts today. Comments from me…
1) Playing great is not necessary or even usual in order to win cup finals.
2) To win is the thing and too often in this competition Celtic haven’t!
3) AS is certainly my least fav player but today he was v good motm.
4) Efe was scary for twenty minutes and v v good for 70.
5) Man grabs pen opportunity, man misses…no story unless you’re beaten.
6) SJ was off today, poor…by his standards.
7) Works v hard but if LG is the answer…its the wrong question.
8) Nir B….can I have his babies?
9) Ref…no issues, even had he awarded a softish pen to DU.
10) Jackie Mac…no need to congratulate opponents. He should be hurting as much as his fans and he should show it. I wonder if we’d been pleased had RD offered congrats if Sevco had won.
