I agree without a doubt, Celtic are to big for the Scottish game, but it doesn’t look like we’re going anywhere anytime soon.

As for candidates, not sure about Di Matteo, I’m maybe holding the style of football he employed when at Chelsea, even tho he won te big cup, surely he could’ve employed a better style with the talent at his disposal.

Maybe go down the Spanish route, try and unearth a Pochettino.

Anyway all this is hypothetical , hopefully Lenny is here for many more years

    Good chatting

    Peace be with you

Was lovely to meet you too! Nice to see you posting again! Myself and HT popped into McChuils but only to pick up cards we were handed yesterday.

  4. Neil will still be our manager IMO.

    However should he leave..

I think Malky Mackay would be my choice, out with any European coach of whom I know nothing!!!!

    Hmmm

Well, I think you will find that this is precisely what we have done.

Who was the big guy who carried the trophy out onto the pitch with that SFA numpty?

  7. John O’Neil must can’t be happy today. His team Zenit St. Petersburg was close to be the champions of Russia. Today, when they were losing 2:4 to Dynamo Moscow, Zenit fans invaded the pitch and the game was abandoned. One of Dynamo players was beaten and needed help from the doctors.

Things have twisted there and looks like new champions will be CSKA Moscow.

He was a guy from Stirling.

Won it in some sort of competition I think .

    Good pals with his cousin.

I suspect there will be quite a few decent mid level jobs up for grabs in Engerland.

At least two or three from

West Ham, Spurs, WBA, Villa, Southampton and Newcastle may all be available for different reasons.

I also reckon that is one of the reasons Big Johann has left.

I suspect his thinking is that if NL goes this season, he wouldn’t get the job and new guy may not fancy him.

But, if NL goes next year,he would have a year’s experience elsewhere & be more credible to the board.

In saying all that, I think NL will stay, but next season is a real make or break.

If he gets into CL his profile will be similar, if he gets to last 16 it goes up.

On the other hand if he doesn’t get into CL, then only a really good Europa League would maintain his external credibility.

The Deadclub’s fans did that to Moscow Dynamo in 1972.

Are Zenit’s followers a shower of knucledraggers too?

Thanks for the tip re Caffreys in Prague, went there 30 minutes before the game and it wasn’t on, took a wander round to The Dubliner instead.

Unfortunately the game wasn’t on there either but one if the bar staff put it on in a back room while the main lounge was full of punters watching F1, EPL and even hockey.

Great game and much as I’ve had mixed emotion re Sammi I’m really sorry to see him go.

    Hail Hail and thanks again.

If NFL decides to leave I for couldn’t blame his as when the reincarnation come there will be trouble ahead.

  16. harryhoodsdugbitme on

Celtic FC put on a super professional end of game presentation for us all today which on play back this evening on sky was fab apart of course from Tanner.

As for our three in a row manager leaving us then I can only imagine Neil would quit if a MASSIVE/BIG club came in for him and that ain’t going to happen right now I hope. We know the SMSM won’t ever give him peace. In any normal world he’d be a national hero but not here in Scotland. What chance does Neil have when Jock Stein our greatest ever manager was accused of being inhumane and corrupt by Ewing Graham of the Telegraph on line on Friday. What a disgrace our wee country is. Keep on keeping on NFL. We love you.HH.

  17. Jude 2005

The tv series, with the Coen brothers as executive producers, is living up to the film, with some great acting and plenty of the film’s dark humour.

I think the actress in the film playing the pregnant policewoman was Frances McDormand.

  18. CRC

Was behind a brand new Freelander with CRC as the personalised number plate,

  19. Jude & Pedro

Fargo is rarely out of my top ten best movie list.

Frances McDormand got an Oscar for her portrayal of the Police Chief. She is married to Joel Coen the codirector.

Bit of cult movie now but like Shawshank when it came up it seemed to go under the radar.

Steve Buscemi, William H Macey were great in it too.

Haven’t watched the new tv show, but the trailers for it remind me of the movie that Billy Bob Thornton was in with Bill Paxton, “A Simple Plan”.

Hear that Charls had a Simple Plan too….but he messed up.

On Neil – hope he stays for the Ten.

  25. Rwe

The opening scenes of the whiteout in the film were stunning. The excellence was maintained for the rest of the movie.

  26. BIG-CUP-WINNERS

They are the problem in Russia and in Europe. We remember thier group statement from past year when they said No to not white players in the team. Two years ago their game against Dynamo was abandoned becouse the flare injured the goalkeeper. They are on probation in Europe. What’s interesting, Gazprom is their main sponsor. The same Gazprom who is Champions League sponsor. Pecunia non olet.

  27. One for the Celtic Quick News book club

Just finished reading the excellent Fear and Loathing in La Liga by the excellent Sid Lowe

Very informative regarding the Spanish civil war, and how both Barca and Real Madrid where affected by this, also how Madrid being the establishment club in Spain may not stand up to scrutiny, very balanced book.

Started reading Graham Hunters Spain book, another good one, following up from his excellent Barca book.
