    Theoriginalsadiesbhoy,

is that ineptitude up there with some of the inept results I posted earlier from “better” mangers?

    Are you watching?

    ………………..,

Stop deflecting. We are here in the present. The manager failed tonight, he failed against Copenhagen and he failed against Cluj, all at Celtic Park in must win knock-out games. I’m not interested in how other managers performed. I’m interested in our manager. He’s costing us millions of pounds.

FRom Cha Du Ri to Efe to Elhamed . Our European adventures always throw up unimaginable surprises.

  3. I’ve seen Lenny a few times on cellphone videos, in the pub, singing, doing aeroplanes and such like. Never seen BR, MON, GS, JS or any other do that sort of thing. There’s professionalism and then there’s professionalism

  4. Oh dear the man belittled on his dress sense now?

WHIT NEXT? JOHN KENNEDYS UNDER CRACKERS

    Get a fecking grip….

  5. Pitymevin,, you’ve been lying to yourself all your Life. If you believe board mantra then you are a fool. Same as most of us..,.

  6. 18 year ago this Friday we with a team containing Lambert, Lenny, Sutty and Henke etc we got dumped out of the Champions League qualifying round after taking a 3-1 lead to Basle.

I don’t recall anyone demanding MON getting his P45 and big Gas Meter was still effin up Clydeport Ltd, © kirki expat, in fact we just moved on and Seville came at the end of that season, still won eff all then but that was all put down tae cheatin and honest mistakes.

Puntnl any of the double L’s will cost us TIAR, we just need a clearance of players that don’t want tae be there and if big Eddy is one of them, and I wouldn’t blame him if he was after Saturday, then so be it.

Getting a talented squad to play to their potential has more to do with the football dept than the strategic goals of the plc board on behalf of the shareholders

I know you are a shareholder and are not happy with the strategic goals but tonight and the last few games are to do with managing the team

Not saying you are wrong on the plc side but you must see a problem on the team management front surely? I really hope you are right on the 10 and if all stays in place and we win it , I’ll be the first on here to say you were right and had balls of steel after that!

Domestic dominance is brilliant but , as regards Europe , we simply cannot keep on going as we are .

Going now , but will check in on the fallout tomorrow.

  9. AOW, THANK YOU.

The point I’ve been trying to make is you cant compare budgets due to the amount of bench warmers we buy to let. Quality not quantity and the 10 IAR will take care of its self and a lot better chance of qualifying to the big leauge.

    AoW,

I said he hung around with the brains trust, you were included in that team but obviously went over your head.

You’ve no been slow to bad mouth me since then, that’s where my opinion of you is formed.

Snide digs on here tend to be remembered, so I’ll no be losing any sleep about your opinion either.

  11. @Tontine..Remember the Sallah? goal.

the Sun headlines 10 million goal….

Oh dear we know how that worked out..

    and we are still tims…………

Copenhagen went another two rounds, not one. Barcelona was 7 years ago for goodness sake. Does he get a job for life based on that game?

I admire your optimism and long may you have it. It’s a great thing to have and I wouldn’t knock it.

My own position is that I am frustrated that we have the financial resources to succeed and players who can achieve much more in the game. However, we are being held back by an incompetent manager. I’ve gone over the previous two games but tonight to line up with no striker when we had two on the bench is just the last straw.

  13. Yet another, embarrassing, predictable, heartless, clueless performer again, against a team, who have about 25% of our income. If Neil Lennon picked ANY player who does not want to play for Celtic, then he should follow them out the door. He won’t go now,too much at stake this season, hopefully we will get the 10,and try and move the Club on in Europe.

  14. Some comments that we’re better off out of the Champs league and europa / out of Europe altogether suits us better.

I’m genuinely not sure that the present mgt team will win the league this season. I just don’t see that yet. Should our squad be further weakened by sales or strops, we could be in serious bother.

How to be regroup and improve?

    What has to change?

  15. IT’S USUALLY at this time ..we get some fine sounds

my favs were pablo..aw naw ,the doors fav mags ,bmcuwp..

and various lurkers who would post a gem….

    Back to the future ……..

    H.H

  16. Canman, liar.

You referred to him him as such.

“So you’ve met the brains trust?”

Hard to gather from that you were referring to his pals as it was just him and me.

You just don’t like people with apposite opinions.. That’s why your in Qatar or somewhere cos you just argue like fuck.

    Nice talking.

  17. I’m probably alone in this but I could not care less about the ‘ten’ anymore than it was the first or the fourth.

Winning the league THIS year is always the thing that interest’s me.

Bragging rights?…our beautiful team in 1967 have always secured our place forever in ANY bragging rights against any scottish side.

European respectability is the one thing I have always cared about.

To see Celtic at home again beaten by a team of average cloggers with a decent coach is a script that is becoming way to familure.

Should be written into all celtic managers contracts that champions league elimination before the play off round is a sackable offence unless you are playing a team from a major footballing nation.

We have actually had an incredibly easy route to the group stages for some time now due to seeding and ‘champions route’….but have made a complete pigs ear of it for three years on the bounce.

UEFA are likely to make it far far tougher in the years ahead and these pathetic campaigns will look even worse.

  18. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Theoriginalsadiesbhoy,

    is it deflecting?

I call it memory, there’s a thing called perspective, try it.

The team got beat in Europe and reading your stuff its like its the first time it ever happened, even if it did happen before, you wont admit it did but if it did, there has never been a more embarrassing result in Celtic’s history, ffs catch a grip.

    Talk about drama queen ffs.

  19. DRAMBOWIECELT @ 10:57 PM,

    @THEBHOYFROMOZ

Erm.. who was the manager when we won the treble treble?

When we won the treble treble we didn’t have a full time manager.

Lenny had been caretaker manager for the last three months of the treble, treble.

We had been under the impression that the Celtic Board had undertaken a search for a new manager, several top managers were mentioned in connection to the role including Rafa Benitez.

It was however a sham, Celtic hadn’t approached any quality manager for the role, despite getting £9m compensation for BR and his coaches they had no intention of spending money on a manager and coaching staff.

Lenny was given tbe job and it’s been down hill ever since.

    Hail Hail

  20. On the bright side, as we are in the Europa League now we will have a free midweek Sept 16th and maybe catch up a League game ? St Mirren away was the first casualty.

Unfortunately our path in the Europa League is anything but straightforward. We find out Tuesday midday who we play on 24th in QR3. Our early exit plus the really complex seeding system for the Europa League Champions path means we can lose our seeding as it can depend on when we went out of the Champions League etc.

Oh and there are possible byes in the draw. And the Play Off match is a 1 leg affair not home and away. (read Moravcik67 on Twitter for the technicalities)

Maybe we focus in 10 in a row – it’s once in a life time – Europe is an annual disappointment.

  21. Dear bbc, why oh why oh why must the celtic wait for Shane Duffy even though the club have over 40m in the bank we also didn’t keep a great goal keeper and instead have 3 or 4 that the manager in no doubt doesn’t trust.

    Money in the bank

  22. 4 times in last 6 years dumped out qualifiers

All due to lack of investment when funds were available

    120m pounds of lost income

Players sold for top dollars without being replaced

Poor quality football department with very low tactically experience

How long will peter stay at his cash cow

  23. Should we give Broony the job? Would he have played a team with no striker? Would he play favourites? Would he be a better tactician? Would he be a better motivator?

  24. Lennon seems to be accepting the consequences of CL elimination.

    Good.

Anyone want to explain the consequences of CL elimination?

    Does it entail:

the sacking of a CEO for this failure?

the sacking of a manager for this failure?

    or

paying, but not attending, (we’re scum not ruggers) fans having to accept the same old shite?

    I’ve already got my answer.

  25. I’m going to my bed but, Celtic played a CL Qualifier with no striker.

    FFS!

There’s no way back from that!

  26. TONTINE TIM on 27TH AUGUST 2020 12:06 AM

18 year ago this Friday we with a team containing Lambert, Lenny, Sutty and Henke etc we got dumped out of the Champions League qualifying round after taking a 3-1 lead to Basle.

    ………………………….

I was at the game and we played very poor first half and missed a few second half including very near the end. Broken hearted doesn’t begin to describe it. Oldco won the treble. We lost a European final as we did the treble with our heads held high.

Remember when we stopped the cheats winning ten? Nobody would have given us a rats chance after a new manager and complete team rebuild, the poor start, the 30 goals for negri before the year was out…etc

It’s going to be battle this year to win anything. It always was going to be just because of our previous success.

Lenny ooot is a no perspective self defeating attitude at this stage in the season for me. As said I respect others who think that it’s the opposite scenario but they need to think….

We are where we are and would there be any guaruntee of change with a different manager. Also Lenny has proven over and over again (European knockout ties apart) that he has the ability to use defeat as a positive. I do realise once your out your not so maybe brackets not needed.

It’s how we react that’s important from now on as a team…and as fans.

  27. Hopefully get pumped out the Europa League, get league games back on track before the huns and Hampden call the league.

  28. @Braw Thank you ..

    know what we been thru……

And long may ye post ye rascal

    H.H

  29. Lenny knows how to organise and set up a tight team for europe – the problem is he only seems inclined to do so against top teams.

He seems very lax in our set up and preparation against less famous teams – his record now from Sion to Ferencvaros makes for grim reading despite the stand out successes against Barca and Lazio.

We’re criminally open against teams we should be beating in Europe. That’s 3 times in 12 months and he should be gone next summer, no doubt on that score.

In fact. if it becomes evident he’s lost the dressing room – I hope we’ve wee Strachan’s number on speed dial.

We’re a bit of that yet, he steadied the ship last season and may do so again but its certainly a worry after tonight.
