Oh, and I also believe big ‘in yer face’ Fraser Forster would not have let that second goal in.

  2. We are fecked.

We can see the shortcomings of our coaching (if it wasn’t so sad it’d be laughable) staff. However, the SMSM won’t even broach the subject cos they’re loving it. No one but us will criticise our lack of quality in terms of management and coaching. Lawwell has an easy ride with no crowds.

Celtic Directors job description on their business cards previously stated “We strive to make Celtic a World Class Football Club” ..

I wonder if they still say that and if they do, I wonder how they view tonight’s events, and the UCL £30 Million pounds we now have no chance of earning.

The buck stops with the Board, and tonight we have gone backwards again as a football club.

Tonight I’m not angry, I’m sad, as tonight’s performance and result was predictable, and the really sad indictment is that it’s been 15 years since we last went out at this stage.

    Damn tootin’ Bhoy.

This year’s a year like no other.

( I mentioned previously, get the 10, set the “record” straight then I’d countenance starting again.)

    “David 17 ” …Aye.

  5. I now expect training ground bust up tomorrow

I don’t , they will get a few days off to relax , but mind don’t leave Glasgow.

  6. Auldheid. I have just checked champions leagues groups for lady season

10 teams well below us in income league

Res 12. Lol. Peter lawell has no intention of pushing that as it might .”, I say might blow up in

His face and risk his easy cash cow position at Celtic park

    Will you ever learn

  7. We shouldn’t want to hold onto a manager or player who’s not producing just because the huns hate him.

  8. IMHO NFL is content to be in a job whereas BR had ambitions to move up the ladder and when the plc don’t back you, you move on.

    Not rocket science.

The post about wages to players who don’t play was spot on, we need quality and not quantity and a new plan is required.

  9. Only my opinion, but watching NL in the dugout,do you think the players attitude may come from the manager .

He seems to me to be disinterested,

After the final whistle tonight he turned and walked away down the tunnel, leaving the players to themselves, not accepting any responsibility.

    Poor management IMO

  10. Canman, you seem entrenched in that position, we move on.

Lenny (cheap option), I get that.

Board had nothing to do with that tonight.

Lenny would have left Messi on the bench tonight.

Not acceptible on a rain swept night in Paradise to gamble like he did.

  11. i'vehadtochangemynamebacktojackiemac on

Our game plan is easy to spot and quash: doesn’t bode well for the league this year.

  12. James Forrest has an interesting article from before the game,

who is responsible for leaking team line ups hours before kick off ,

one of the unhappy players ??

  13. I’m as disappointed and angry as anyone else but the reality is we have a game against Motherwell coming up,

We have 4 domestic Trophies to play for, we are still in Europa as well.

Despite all the calls here for Lenny to step down, it won’t happen.

We have the squad we have, there will probably be a few in and outs in next few weeks and we will see where that leaves us.

If we win the 10 in a row tonight will be forgotten but whether we do or we don’t I feel at season end both Pedro & Lenny will go,

I’m down now like the rest of ye, I’m sure Lenny & the team are down as well but the season is only beginning, everyone has got to pick themselves up & get on with the job.

  14. 31003 Aye and it seems like like a high percentage of CQN as well

Feck me somethin inside so strong ? seems hollow now.

Just read Lenny’s post match comments, seems to have totally lost the plot. Players flug under the bus , very Stevie G stuff, very poor Lenny, that was your selection fault

  16. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Thanks for those 54K season books lads. To sit in the hoose.

Oh and so you know, Ferencvaros’ home attendance average last year was 10,715, their best since 1996 and up from 6,721 in 2017.

But we all know how hard it is for Scottish clubs to compete in Europe, right?

    Chin up.

    Cheers,

    PL

  17. It has been forgotten a bit in the headlines post match but my god I was so dissapointed in the passing of Julien TONIGHT.

Some of the balls he gave away were shocking. No idea what has happened to him.

His general play this season has been shocking.Trouble we are out of options at the back [and aparantly up front]

  18. Canalmar…

Well said. many short memories on here and a complete lack of perspective.

Oh I’ve learned OK and it will not be up to him. Just wait and see. You will change your mind.

  20. PPS, just heard I lost an uncle tonight in Castlederg so my perspective is fully switched on.

    RIP Hillary.

Last time I saw you we were going for the eight!

All you could do was comment on my weight!

So I skimmed it down and got myself right.

    Sorry you didn’t see it

    And lost your own fight!

Got that sinking feeling like it’s the end of days. Players looking to exodus.

Lenny at war with the dressing room didn’t work out at Hibs. Love him more than the players, but this ain’t a good place to be. At all. We’re there for the taking.

Pedro should have walked years ago. Been there too long. Agree he will go this year, but might be too late. Hope not.

  22. All teams run out of steam and this one has . Barca are the same

Brendan knew it and got out, Neil couldn’t believe his luck after fecking up a good job at Hibs

I had zero expectations for this season, hence why i am not kicking doors and getting the whisky out

I just wanted the 9 and then let it play out

This team are not a CL team and possibly not even EL this year

Winning the league over 38 games will be a big challenge and if it is called early we probably lose the 10

For Scottish football, probably not a bad thing (I know most will not agree)

Goals for this squad now should be to get into EL if they can, get ahead in league by Christmas and win the Scottish Cup, That would be a good result after Neil’s rant and revelations

    PS

Saying players are not as good as they think they are is another ironic hoot. Massively over-rated player and over paid was our Neil. Literally fat in his last season and also in 2002 early season. I watched Naka refuse to pass to him in a CL game vs AC Milan despite being under pressure. Good players know bad ones. Neil spat venom at Naka of course

  23. AOW, sorry your completely wrong.

The board set the budget and strategy

The UK have work permit sanctions. Therefore when we are playing eastern Europe teams who can sign players from all over the world at a fraction of the cost with no permit requirement, we must ensure the players are at a higher level to ensure qualification. This is paramount and is a risk worth taking. Quality and not quantity

We always ask why our players sell for a cheap price.

Well have a guess, its because we don’t qualify and get the exposure to the top teams, under 21s in the french team is why they sell.

  24. Canamalar

If you are not allowed to manage in the way you want , out of self respect to yourself you resign, granted he may need the money who knows but its not working, this cannot continue, decisions need to be made, and if NL is being hindered dont sign any non disclosure agreements, when you leave get the message out why you are going, no doubt he will want another job so if he bad mouths people or lets known home truths he wont work again.

The club is teetering at this moment in time the manager has admitted players dont want to be there, so players are not putting it in , not good at all.

The support and the grass roots shareholders have no say since McCann sold out the way he did to large investors, they only want the support for season books merchandise and the more well healed for hospitality packages, after that no comments from them until AGM time when the block vote lines up behind the board.

  25. Peterlatchfordsbelly

I agree on PL, haven’t pulled him up yet. He was a COO when he arrived and got promoted to CEO. CEO max lifetime in a plc is 5 years. Been there too long, irrespective of success

  26. BLANTYRETIM IS PRAYING FOR THE KNOX FAMILY on 26TH AUGUST 2020 11:20 PM

As much as I blame Lenny tonight ultimately the problem lies with our board and CEO

Lack of investment and foresight costs us in Europe .

The teams who embarrass us yearly run on significantly lower budgets than we do

    ——–

Which is it? Lack of investment or teams with fractions of our budgets beating us?

  27. LARKIN1907 on 26TH AUGUST 2020 10:57 PM

Jesus wept. Neil Lennon hasn’t a bloody clue tactically in Europe. We keep losing must win games in Europe AT HOME. He keeps picking the wrong players in the wrong positions. Against Cluj we were in a qualifying position 3 times during the course of the 90minutes and we still managed to lose. Lenny was schooled against Copenhagen. We were better than them for the first 35 minutes in Denmark. Their manager made a few adjustments and we were lucky to get out of there with a 1-1 draw. We were dismantled at Celtic Park. Tonight deja vu all over again. He puts out a team with no striker but keeps two on the bench. We will now have to sell Edouard who needs the high profile of playing in Europe. Players who would have come to us if we reached the CL will now look elsewhere. He was a lazy appointment and is dragging us down. We need a new manager.

  28. glendalystonsils on

I wonder what the main player’s reaction will be to all of this? Or does he only react to being slagged by hun directors when their fledgling team beat Celtic on penalties?
