Obviously the banner was prepared well before today’s game and in the belief that Boyata would not play, displaying a sentiment that the majority of the support would agree with. However, the plan to unfurl it should have been abandoned when the team was announced. Everyone is entitled to have their opinion and to express it as they see fit, but, when the team take to the park for a game, we the support should get right behind them.
Boyata has his faults and isn’t the best central defender we’ve ever had but he’s the best one we had available yesterday and Brendan picked him. Let’s see what the next few days produce in the way of movement in or out and let’s support the team that takes the field in the hoops for the duration of every game. Hail Hail

I think it was an own goal from the GB to go through with the banner. But then,they’ve had a few in their time,they’ve probably scored more own goals than Gary Caldwell.

Very depressing to read last night from Burnley78 that Richard Wilson has editorial input at the BBC , pretty obvious he has had an effect already, even outdoing their cousins at STV at times which is some achievement.
Another who spent time at the Herald, although I’d stopped reading it by then, and direct descendant of Gallagher , Traynor and Broadfoot with a few others in between.

Yep. It’s not that he’s not entitled to a second chance,but I think the trust is gone,from both sides.
Leaving will benefit both parties,staying will be to our detriment.
He may not be solely to blame for this fiasco,but he could certainly have avoided it.
While I was all for Boyatta never playing for us again, it has to be said he strolled through yesterday’s game. The other players quite obviously were happy with him being in the team. So, needs must, imo. I can certainly see him playing in our next 2 games, if he is still a Celtic player.
By the bye, he wasn’t simply booed. When that happened, he was also applauded. The applause eventually drowning out the booing.

Three centre half’s linked this morning, one injured, one a project and one on loan who has just signed for EPL club (no buy potion).
I didn’t want Boyata to play for us again after leaving us in the lurch (and out of CL) but given the shambolic nature of our scouting, recruitment, transfer negotiations, it’s time to bite the bullet, offer Boyata a year’s extension with a buy out clause of say £10m. That will give our crack recruitment team and negotiators time to get their act together and sign a replacement in January. Boyata can then leave in January or next summer.
Shocking that we’ve come to this, and a bang average centre half who doesn’t want to be there is our best option.

It definitely has got worse each year.
When King took over there it was clear that the negativity towards Celtic would increase, apparently it’s a price worth paying as with him in charge “we know how this story ends.”
In the meantime our club gets dragged through the mud at every opportunity and we’re back to old firm and ones as bad as the other territory.
Have to agree with BORGO67. The SMSM have been out in force in the last year or so (and the last month or so in particular) here on CQN.
Hopefully, it will survive the onslaught.

Spot on, and this is the real issue, despite all the hot air about a banner and a few boos.
We still have time to correct the situation but time is running out. Concern also growing over Kris Ajer at CB who got turned inside out by a not exactly equisite piece of skill from a Hamilton player 20 seconds into the match. He recovered to have a decent game but the damage could have been done.

There are players in that dressing room — and I know this for a fact — who take painkillers to make sure they can pull on that jersey and get through 90 minutes.
So, to have a player make excuses and let his team-mates down in some big European games is just staggering.

Thank you so much for those who wished me well on and off the blog, very humbled.
Broke my left elbow in four places last Tuesday, I was sober! Luckily not my drinking arm.
Had an operation yesterday 14:00 and home by 21:00 with my Chicken Curry. Plate inserted, no Cast, just a bandage and a sling. Two week line a week’s worth or morphine.
