You’re right, arrest those flags and banners regardless of who is carrying them. Feck it arrest those carrying them too.
If by ‘arrest’ you mean ‘ban’ then, yes, that’s what’s happening. The class is being kept back for the actions of a minority. That’s unfortunately how it works.
hun skelper
The board can take the £10,000 out the money they made off the 125 tifo at the Barcelona game or the money they made off the COYBIG or glasgows green and white merchandise am sure it would cover it
You’re implying that Celtic should keep a sink fund for ned violence in return for a better atmosphere. Don’t think that’s gonna fly.
I’ve been trying to follow the recent events at Celtic, which seem to be quite a contrast to the other side of Glasgow. Is it just me, or are are Celtic quietly redefining themselves, now that they are free of the OF chains? I noticed some tweets yesterday concerning flags, and what with certain aspects of the GB’s contributions being called into question, are we seeing a sea-change in attitudes on the west coast?
If my understanding is correct Celtic ARE willing to take a financial hit in an attempt to disassociate themselves from certain parts of their traditional support.
Of course you could argue that had Celtic failed to comply
with the Banners edict, then they would be neglecting their
own supporters.
A bit like ‘the shame game’ summons and Celtic refusing to
attend, they would have read the riot act on the Celtic support
anyway.
The game can go two ways, I’ll predict massive success statement from Police Scotland, and a few Celtic fans lifted for minor offences.

Hi Magnus
Thanks for getting in touch.
I have to admit, not being a football fan or someone who ever attends matches, I didn’t know if this was a particularly unusual request to make.
Going by comments online, however, it seems that it isn’t the norm and is something fans are not happy with.
I am going to talk to the Police Scotland press office tomorrow, along with any media contacts from St Johnstone and Celtic to find out why this decision has been made.
It is clearly striking a chord with fans and I appreciate they are looking for answers.
Thanks again.
Regards
Sandra

Seems to me like St Johnstone have changed the terms of the contract by adding a no flags rule- worth asking for a refund on the back of that if you already have a ticket. The only was to deal with this slur is through denying them our money- leave them with a big bill for polis and stewards and let them know it will be empty stands the next time we play them there as well
