    hamiltontim- Indeed, it could also be claimed that SJFC and Police Scotland are not carrying out best practice in respect to safety of spectators.

     

     

    First priority in any risk control is to eliminate the hazard, i.e. stop the pyros getting in, this can be done with effective body searching of all spectators.

     

    However if they decline to do this and effectively allow pyros in then in the event of a serious incident which may lead to a prosecution they will need to explain to the court why they did not effectively discharge their obligation by not eliminating the risk at source when they clearly knew how to.

    The banners being banned to prevent polis from identifying those singing doesnt work when scarfs are over mouths or those snood things are used to cover the face- so I’m not sure that is the main reason for this

    I’m sure I’ve read a comment by some polis heid-yin about banners being held up when “offensive” songs were sung and this made it difficult for them to identify the “offenders”. I still believe this is the real reason behind the ban. Anyway, it’s pretty difficult to sing through a scarf wrapped round your mouth. Haven’t seen too many of our supporters wearing snoods. Still I suppose it’s only a matter of time before they ban scarfs then they’ll arrest who they want for being dressed a casuals.

    Snake they are out to get us no matter what we do. Our club rant just complicit but supporting this action. The ONLY response is to suspend our support from celtic financially.

    The Celtic family as one need to speak out on the issue of banning anything including flags, this means the board all the supporter associations/affiliations need to meet then inform the support why this is even being considered, the Police are rightly or wrongly going to enforce this offensive behavior law, this needs changed only Holyrood can do this,we all have a vote use it, if this is a major concern for any Celtic fan well you have a choice to make at the ballot box.

    I don’t go to games much any more but I assume over-priced muck is still being served from the catering units. Tells you all you need to know if you’re a faithfull supporter. Feeding the poor in the east-end indeed. Thankfully I now get to avoid that diet, however, the policy of appeasement makes me vomit.

    Bang on we need a unified voice on any action that we propose to take, I know Jeanette Findlay floated the idea of a meeting on twitter last week, one things for sure something needs to be done and done quickly!

     

     

    If we decided to boycott all away fixtures and it was on the whole adhered to, wait and see how quick attitudes change.

    BMCUW…. yes, but i’m actually getting a bit fed up with it now.. have scoffed copious amounts in all shape and form.. an even the well fireds are lasting a day longer and going stale.

     

     

    Maybe need to go for a detox!!

    neganon2 – I accept that yes it make identification of people easier. I just don’t think that flags make that so difficult that they need to be banned. The reason given actually seems more plausible. I still don’t support it though.

     

     

    As for making life impossible for Celtic fans. Again you could be right that the current moves are the thin end, but as a move it affects a tiny, tiny number of fans. I could probably count on my fingers the number of times there’s been a flag waver in and around 143. I’ve been sat there for 15 seasons.

    That’s me guilty as charged of responding to our wee friend. I think he’s quite (unconsciously) funny, base and banal at times, but funny nonetheless.

     

     

    I’ll desist and not give him the oxygen. But he’s not alone there are one or two others, who are clearly not here for the football chat and have an agenda to attack individuals. You were a victim of one last summer, if I recall correctly.

    If this is not a St Johnston move, why not just announce the same ban for Inverness? It’s sold out, so it’s not like an effective boycott could be achieved for that either.

     

     

    On the other hand if a similar ban is announced, I’ll be shifting over to Neganon2’s position.
