  1. What is the Stars on

For as long as I have been loggin on here (Sept 2009) there has been weeping wailing and gnashing of teeth after a poor/bad result .which can be….

    Draws at home

    any sort of loss

    sometimes even narrow wins

    Its what people do.

I wouldnt lose any sleep over it

    Grumpywhinology or Pargmatic Fenianology

    You choose

    Throw away the shovel mate!

Hail Hail the Celts are here!

Sing that twice then post again.

  3. This site was started to give Celtic supporters a voice and fair debate.

How many on here were happy for a more balanced opinion than that of the mssm and Celtic View(PRAVDA)

Now any differing opinion on here faces accusations of being whiners ,ungrateful moaners. And self entitled twats.

  4. OK, I lied. Just to put things into perspective, 6 of the starting 11 were 21 and younger. In fact averaged 19.5 years. These guys are the future. The average age of the team was 24. The subs took the average age up to 26.5 years. We played the better football when the average age was 24.

    More useless info later :-)

I’ve never been in McChuills. If it’s noisy that is no good to me. I can’t follow conversations in noisy pubs these days. Too many plays of QUADROPHENIA at full volume when I was younger.

  6. Frustrating draw against Kilmarnock’s back six except when they needed an equaliser.

Mildly disappointed home fans streamed from the ground amid the big screen announcements of 62 and invincible Celtic who host no less than Bayern Munich on Tuesday, with Kilmarnock a mere memory.

One eye on Europe Celtic ‘slipped up’ at home again with a team selection that was changed but couldn’t be considered weakened, albeit against the SPL’s most improving side fresh with a vastly experienced new manager.

Steve Clark knows how to set out his team and despite crossing the half way line twice in the first 45, they looked a threat each time they managed it in the second 45 including a walk in goal after they’d hit the inside of the post.

We were untroubled till we took the lead before half time after a superb ball from Kouassi found Griffiths, the home crowd waited for the inevitable second half filling in, that didn’t arrive. Instead Kilmarnock looked threatening and it wasn’t a surprise when they equalised, then battened down again.

With the game crying out for Armstrong Dembele and MacGregor we got two from three but no breakthrough in a now familiar repeat of whats gone before at home against Hibs and St Johnstone whom we face next week in Perth.

Beefed up Ajer looked on a stroll with Nir Bitton but the Killie equaliser did the damage and a draw was pretty predictable from the minute it went in as Celtic did everything for a winner but couldn’t find the space to find it.

Oh for somebody that shoots from outside the box in an old fashioned way.

Can’t believe the complaining from some of you guys…and with the score 1-1, the number of fans (fans?) who got up and left…what exactly do these guys want? I imagine these uber-demanding types never played the game at any level and don’t understand what is required to go 62 domestic games undefeated…I’m afraid this is the side-effect of being so successful. It’s the same at the ground. At least in the ‘old days’ you could just move to another spot to get away from these crabbit types, not now though. Just have to remain calm and put up with it…Anyway, well done to Brendan and the bhoys…62 and counting…

    And another thing….!

I’m fed up with the constant abuse dished out to one of my favourite meals.

Nothing wrong with mince (provided it’s cooked right).

As BGFC, why don’t show a bit of brass & post your own obnoxious insults instead of doing it in the name of your son ya loon

  10. The ground emptied fast before end of Dundee game also.We never leave before the whistle. It was Baltic up in 416 today

  11. NOTTHEBUS

The old personal insult tactic rather than debate the points.

Being called stupid by an Uber Tim like you reminds me of theKelly/white days and their supporters before McCann and real Celtic supporters got control.

Your lack of reasoned debate is unsurprising.

  12. OK- It was not a good performance but what did we lose? Only 2 points, as far as I can see.

    And what did we gain?

A continuation of our unbeaten domestic run.

A continuation of our lead at the top of the table of the SPFL

Game paractice for 2 rarely seen players (Ajer, Johnston) and 2 squad players (N’tcham Eboue)

Game practice against a very compressed own half team who , nonetheless came out of their shell once they conceded.

A wee boost to the confidence of players like Ajer, N’tcham, Eboue, Johnston and Griffiths.

Only one major injury- Paddy- in the lead up to the Bayern game

And the demotion of torn-faced McCann’s team to the bottom pof the league.

We cannot win this league with a squad of 16 players and a first 11 that gets run into the ground and stars only replaced, if injured.

Let’s allow this talented manager to rotate and rest, without having his wisdom called into question. After all, he has delivered 62 domestic games unbeaten: What have you or I ever done?

  13. Visitors have arrived so I will bid you all a pleasant evening.

God help and bless all our fellow posters in need.

    Hail Hail!

  14. not long in from the game, thought we gave the away team their team talk when they received our team sheet with 6 changes from our last game and we were more concerned with the next game than the game about to played.

Killie , well set up defensively and we struggled to break them down until a great pass from EK to LG, second half we were poor, over playing the ball at the back , far to many sideways or backward passing from Ajer

( who appears to have beefed up a bit) .

If we are concentrating more on tues and resting players why oh why play PR who was brought back in this season for the Champions League, strange one.

    anyway congrats for equalling 62

I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed man.

You and I are fortunate to be living through the greatest domestic achievement in Celtics history. Unprecedented levels of success . Success some of us could only dream of a few years ago.

You are entitled to criticise this era if you wish. However i am entitled to say that criticism is illogical and by its very nature …stupid.

I will reiterate..to use the local vernacular..your talking mince

  16. Go tell the Spartim on

    Frustrating day all round

It certainly irks me to see weakened teams put out especially at home, today, Dundee, hibs and to a certain extent St Johnstone, tbh it’s the only way we’ll drop points domestically, well that and the incompetence/bias/cheating of the mibs but nonetheless feel a bit short changed despite seeing the potential benefits from doing it

  17. Hail! Hail! In case nobody is aware our current team equalled a long standing record today.

I will immediately qualify any future comments by stating that today I have been in town celebrating my good ladys birthday, so I was not at the game.

I started looking at comments on here and gave up after 3 pages. What a shower of shitebags we are. I can be a prophet of doom and have owned up to that in many occasions. Today we rested players and did not damage our chances of winning the league by 1%.

Today we sent out a message to Bayern Munich that they will be attacked and they will prepare for that. Anyone who thinks that a point in the CL is worth less than 2 points ( in our current position) is deluded and better off following the silly buggers who still think that an Alex McLeish / Derek McInnes team in Ibrox is a threat to our dominant position.

We have no idea how good this situation is, enjoy it. Yes it is domestic domination, what else can we hope and pray for?

  18. Well Done Celtic.

An incredible achievement by the Invincibles.

Kristoffer and Kouassi were very good today, a very encouraging performance from Mikey as well.

Another big effort on Tuesday required. Bayern are 2-0 up @ HT against Leipzig, looking at their line up, I’d say they have arguably, their strongest line up out there.

Massive blow to lose Paddy though. :((

If Celtic beat Bayern, I reckon we would get 2nd place. PSG would rather Celtic went through than Bayern.

Don’t ask me why I think that. :)

  19. Just in from the game.

A bit disappointed at the result. We should have won comfortably,

Not really despondent, as we have equalled our own record. 62 games undefeated. Thank you, Celtic .

  20. NOTTHEBUS

    I criticised this era?

There was stupid me thinking I had only said that Celtic Park was not a fortress this season and suggesting Brendan’s tactics of to many personnel changes had effected momentum?

If only I had your intellect to stop me talking mince!

  21. Why do we need a fortress? The SPL title is there to be won: lovely to win it unbeaten but WGAF as long as the job is done. Win by 2 points or 22 points it matters not a jot.

  22. Tough game today. Killie set up well and we weren’t at our best.

However, I’m sure our record will go when we least expect it and late in the game I was as much hoping we wouldn’t lose as we would win.

We didn’t lose, we’ll win the league, some fringe players got good game time and we will have a freshness about us on Tuesday.

    What’s not to like.

  24. Thought we moved the ball well in the first half without any real cutting edge. The second half was abject, a really poor effort. Very few players get pass marks. To be fair to the players, tactically we were all over the place, trying to play everything through the middle where there was no room. The injury to Roberts turned out to be a big blow as it left us with no width on the right hand side late in the game. The winds were a minor excuse but overall it was a performance to forget. Let’s hope the changes we made today pay dividends on Tuesday.

    62 and counting.

  25. Regarding fans,a wee discussion the other night with another long term season ticket holder, how many of them will still be there once ten in a row is complete

  26. GreeninbingleyinOslo on

We have a load of hugely promising young players in the squad. We also have – thanks to our success – major fixture pile-ups.

The likes of Ajer, Eboue, N’tcham, Johnston, Aitchison, Ralston etc need proper game-time if they are to develop.

I am more than happy to take a 1-1 with the likes of Killie (who have got themselves a very good coach, IMO) to bring the youngsters on, and to rest some of the A-team in advance of the huge Bayern game in a few days time.

Surely we have to do this? We can’t lay out £20 million for a centre-back or £30 million for a middie.

People on here were bellyaching for years that our managers, from MON onwards, never gave youth a chance, even when our development squads were winning everything in sight.

Well, now we have Brendan, who has established a path from the youths to the first-team squad, and supplements that by buying in young talent from abroad.

If we can’t give these young players crucial first-team experience on a day like today, then when can we?

I am pretty sure that at least some of the names mentioned above, and others not mentioned, will be the A-team of our future, and if that happens it will be down to Brendan’s strategy of playing them in games like today’s.

In a couple of years, when N’tcham is running our midfield, the rock-like Ajer at the back is being linked with Arsenal, Barca and Man U, and Johnston’s just won his first cap, who’s going to remember a frustrating 1-1 draw with Killie on October 2017? (Specially if we beat Bayern!)

*pauses for breath. Reaches for wine*
