  1. there was a time in my early supporting days in 78 when celtic went 9 games without a win.

    same thing happened around 92.

you dont know your living , shower of ingrates.

    62 and counting, magnificent.

Was that the game Tony Sheppard was also sent off by Slyme and then allowed back on when he realised that even he had taken it too far.

*I think he realised that he had made a mistake on account of the hair colour. When he was leaving the park after another controversial display the Big Mhan on approaching him allegedly said “well done son”, at that he relaxed until Jock continued with “yer faither would be proud of you”.

Some wag at the Corner asked the same!!!!

    ;-)

I and I will see you through brother.

  4. For all of you who watched the game on TV I would just like to point out that there was a very strong wind blowing throughput the 90 mins. The cornerflags were bent over so much they were almost horizontal. It made our usual one touch passing and moving game much more difficult – verging on impossible. This is why so many through balls appeared to be overhit and why so many shots sailed over the bar.

I’ve just checked the BBC stats. We had 64% possession, shots were 20-4 and shots on target were 7-2.

As someone once said, we canny win them all.

It’s just as well we didn’t nick winner at the death, 40,000 of you would have missed it!

And on a day when history was made!

Dylan was my first musical hero, so I have always been partial to Tne Band. Some of the most extraordinary musicians.

*Mine tae, saw him up the toon with the Hawks as his back up band.

FWIW, Robertson’s autobiography is one of the best music books I have read, so it may have swayed me to the RR camp a bit

*fully concur with that. isnae really a native either, just as much jewish.

We drew with Kilmarnock today and you would think the end of the world was Nye, Some bloggers think today was a disaster, no, it’s just a little blip in the scheme of things.

In 1967 which people think was our best season ever, we had some bad results, (if you count a draw as a bad result) have a look at our results below in 67

    League games.

November 5 we drew 1-1 with St Mirren.

December 3 we drew 0-0 with Kilmarnock.

December 24 we drew 1-1 with Aberdeen

December 31 we lost 2-3 to Dundee Utd.

february 25 we drew 1-1 with Stirling Albion.

April 19 we drew 0-0 with Aberdeen.

May 3 we lost 2-3 to Dundee Utd.

May 6 we drew 2-2 with The dead team.

League Cup, we won all games in that Cup.

Scottish Cup. we won all games except a draw with Clyde 0-0 in the 1st SF but beat them 2-0 in the replay.

    The European Cup,we beat

    Zurich 2-0 H, 3-0 A.

    Nantes 3-1 A, 3-1 H.

    Vojvodina 0-1 A, 2-0 H.

    Dukla 3-1 H, 0-0 A.SF.

    Inter Milan 2-1 Final.

I think you can see we dropped a few points in the League in 67 but at no time did I think that we were a bad team.

Now if we Draw, it’s a Disaster, Celtic are still in all competitions, even European Football is still alive and kicking, sure, we may struggle to win the Big one, but the Europa League is still there to play for, A cup that we have not won before, but maybe it’s waiting for us to lift it this Season.

I started supporting Celtic in 1952 and it wasn’t because Celtic were a good team back then, they lost 12 games in the League and drew 6. and that was in my first season.

I was attracted by a bit of magic that year I’m glad to say,Thanks CT.

Big fan of His Bobness anaw, and like you, that was why I started listening to The Band. Or The Hawks,IIRC.

Probably their best together was Planet Waves. Even though they were Dylan compositions, there’s a very strong Band influence on it.

    Don’t mention 78. Oh,jooooost gonny no.

Aye. Wonderful stuff, from the horns intro to the fading notes.

  11. CongrAtulations to The 2017 Invincibles with 62 unbeaten games equalling a UK record set 100 years ago by Maleys invincibles. Hh

  12. Out of the loop today & missed the game completely. Reading about the game sounds as if we dominated possession but couldn’t convert our chances.

Some guys here referencing fact our away record is better than our home one, I’ve always put that down to fact sides have a bit of a go on their own midden & park the bus at Celtic Park.

It’s always annoying to drop points at home but every team will have off days when nothing goes their way.

The real story today is not that we dropped points it is that we equaled a 100 yr old record & hopefully next week we will set a new one.

Other teams are allowed to challenge us and one of these days we are going to get beaten by a Scottish Team, when it happens I hope the Celtic crowd applaud the team off the pitch to say thank you for what they have done.

Anyhow I’m just focused on Tuesday, looking forward to meet up in Blane Valley & onwards to Celtic Park, thanks to Bournesouprecipie & Eurochamps, God Bless them both.

  13. anyways.

its halloween, a weekend when ugly zombie monkey huns can walk the streets and nobody gives them a second glance

  14. As for today’s game all the credit goes to Stevie Clarke. Kilmarnock produced the best defensive performance by any team at CP this season. They were supremely organised. Hh

A lot of my youth was “wasted”!!! in dingy bedsits ,smoking funny cigarettes and listening to guys playing “The Weight” and such like on guitars that had seen better days

Heaven …..or so it seemed to me at the time

  16. Every time I get a song link on here I get my stuff too! The boss singing live with Gaslight and no surrender, brilliant Bruce at his best, might get banned now BIG PACKY:-))

  17. Very obvious that the moaners were not there when Ronny was manager…..

    62 and counting…

TONTINE TIM. who was the worst boaby syme tiny wharton or the guy with the timmy sounding name.

*davidson was the worst, as for the ref with the timmy sounding name I take it you mean McGinley. In the early 70s I worked with a guy fae Partick whose best fried was his da. He used tae say tae me all week I’ve got you and then on the weekend McGinley, Celtic Celtic Celtic.

BTW this oul punter had a sister who lived in Airdrie, he told me both her and her husband, civil servants, were members of the local bowling club.

Their daughter was getting married and he was invited tae the wedding, his other sister had a bankie son-in-law, die hard Tim who was invited tae.

They were a bit concerned so they were on alert tae keep an eye on the bankie in case he said something tae their esteemed guest.

True tae form after a couple of nippie sweeties he approached RH and said “how come we never beat the huns when your reffing”.

Much consternation among the trooser lifting fraternity in ecumenical Airdrie.

  19. Delaneys Dunky on

I thought we played some great fitba first half. Second half less so. The wee guy Jones who scored was causing us problems. Killie well organised and defended well.

62 unbeaten. Look forward to meeting you again Tuesday.

  20. WHAT IS THE STARS.

I’m trying to get fit enough for the game on Tuesday, Have had a cold in my head since Sunday and it’s still there, it likes me so much it doesn’t want to leave me,and there’s 11-11 coming up in 12 days, I’ll have to get my head clear for that. I’m going to have a few hot toddies, with micks finest whisky to see if that will get me to have a decent sleep tonight.

Believe it or not your post @ 5,53 pm today made me go on the blog and post.

  21. What is the stars.

Thanks for posting that link to Amy’s version.

I love when any artist does their own interpretation of a song and Amy certainly does her own thing. Magic.

A bit of irony that lyrics include, like my father before me. :-)

    BMCUW.

Yes, that’s version I was listening to, thank you for posting. I checked, officially lyrics attributed to R.R. only. That’s why a fuss about it, allegedly Levon had a large input.

    Tontine Tim.

As ever, thank you for clarification you are a star. Jock didn’t miss Slyme did he. :-)

  22. some words of encouragement aimed at Tom Rogic today from “fans ” near me…

    “you’re pish”…..”you’re a donkey”

A poster on another site earlier ” that was the worst Celtic performance in my lifetime”.

    (Obviously still in nappies then).

    These people are obviously morons.

  23. DELANEYS DUNKY.

I’ll be in the Blane Valley at the back of three,so see you there, hopefully, I’m just about to start drinking a few toddies followed by a couple of smokes,to get me too sleep. Extra hour in my bed tonight, probably wake up around 2.00am

  24. Delaneys Dunky on

Have not seen it mentioned on here. We were denied a stonewall penalty in second half in front of me. Linesman had perfect view of Kris Ajer being pulled to the ground in the box as he was about to score.

  25. I’ve not read back but needed a break from reading Twitter!

Apparently ‘Ronny would have been slaughtered for that today!’

An absolutely fantastic achievement today to go 62 domestic games unbeaten!

  26. There was a ref who was a lawyer and I knew a plumber whose wife worked in his office,a proper Hun, I can see his face but no his name:-))
