  1. Greenwells Glory on

    Hi Ghuys, Salve salve-;

seems to me that things are not going too well having tried to analyse it myself and taking into consideration the comments of the discombobulated, I had to admit defeat. So ( That’s how SNP meenisters who want to sound intelligent star off answering a question btw) I did what any reasonable CQN’R would do, I searched the hoose and went through the rubbish and constructed my very own quantum computer , that was up to 100 qubits. I then asked it two questions, as follows :-

    1) What did Celtic do right? ans Nothing

    2) what did Celtic do wrong? ans Everything.

So Fholks there you have it, I will be available for questions for the next 30 minutes or 1/2 hour whichever comes first.

    Aio, quantitas magna frumentorum est

    Greenwells

  2. david17 said it spot on – we have lost our bottle. Recover it and we will be fine. BR needs to earn his corn – Now

  3. What will today bring?

Consensus, agreement, reflection, denial, anger, deflection, nonsense?

I predict – all of the above!

  4. This isn’t about bottle, heart or making tweaks for me. It’s a chronic lack of talent throughout the squad.

No manager will make a defensive unit out of Welsh and Scales. No manager could do anything with Bernabie.

There’s nothing to be done about our wingers, everyone of them create nothing. Maeda at least tracks back and works unlike the rest.

So while we can always hope, the realists among us will be looking ahead to the rebuild.

Preparations for that should be happening now with CL qualifying coming up. And yet here we are with Mark Lawwell still as head of recruitment. We seem determined to chuck more CL qualifiers.

  5. Morning all, nothing good about it.

As I have said before any of us could do what the Liewells and any board member does and would not do any worse in fact we could do it better.

Is Rodgers to blame? Some of the blame must lie at his door yes of course, but he has been handed a poor squad to deal with, but I still think he should be getting more from it.

For instance our shots ON TARGET ratio is pathetic, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, then when shot is on…..pass ffs

    Anyway must dash

    D. :)

  6. Good Morning Celtica – Grand Day To Be A Tim*

Well, another below par performance and some scratching of head.

We should not underestimate Killie, a well organised, hard working side, the idea that our side has thirty times the value of Kilmarnock strikes me as a nonsense.

For many a long year I’ve said this Celtic Board know the price of everything and the value of nothing and so it is, once again, proving.

Of course the makeshift defence and the midfield lacking physicality undone us once again.

However, Joe Hart showed his experience and the front two showed promise.

We must remember Kyogo and Idah are a new pairing up front, Kyogo is playing better and was well worth his goal and Idah offers us something different and there is enough about the youngster to suggest he can be a quality striker.

So winging it’s way to SENCELPOTY@GMAIL.COM

    1. Kyogo

    2. Hart

    3. Idah

    Onwards and Upwards

đŸŽ” We’re going to win the league, we’re going to win the league, so now your going to believe us…

We’re Going To Win The League đŸŽ¶

*Seen someone criticise my this, the alternative is pretty ugly.

    Hail Hail

  7. Brendan Rogers “ I’m here to build a team that can progress in Europe “

    Really !!!!

  8. Where to start
. we’ve backed the wrong horse with Brendan this time round , and barring a miracle , we’ll struggle until the end of the season. Leaving the ground yesterday , it felt 100% that the league is gone , all we can rely on is incompetence from the Hun.

When virtually all of our team look rubbish , normal rule of thumb is that it’s the manager fault. It’s been pretty clear for weeks / months that the centre halves are either not fully fit or not capable but Brendan is adamant that Gus and Maik are behind Welshy and Liam , whatever the combination pretty clear we need defensive midfield cover , we either don’t have any ( injuries) or decide we don’t need it.

The last 30 minutes yesterday was all down to Brendan , this will almost certainly end badly , however it is the hope that kills you.

  9. he can be a quality striker.

    ——

The one thing we didn’t need more of in January was can be footballers.

Can be is of no use to us right now with 12 league games left.

Idah missed a free header from 6 yards with the only decent cross we managed all day yesterday. That’s why he was third choice at Norwich.

  10. Without all of the injured players coming back (and we’ve had an unbelievable run of injuries) we will drop points, the quality just isn’t there and BR is struggling with the options available to him.

The league is there for the taking by thems

  11. Ekbhoy

‘ Leaving the ground yesterday , it felt 100% that the league is gone’

    perfectly summed up

  12. EKB

There will be a lot of negativity on here today,.

Think you summed it all up in one post
..👍

  13. AN DÚN @ 8:53 AM,

    Totally agree…

Any reasonable supporter has gone way beyond the point of needing to identify were our problems lie.

    RECRUITMENT!!

We have a model that’s not fit for purpose and we don’t have the personnel to implement it anyway.

    We knew what was needed…

    Replace quality with quality

Strengthen the positions we are weak on

Look at the balance of the team and determine what we need to take us to the next level, then bring in more physicality and pace

A’mean the first two just gets us standing still and we knew we had to improve.

The interims will be out this month and the Board had better bunker down.

We have been fundamentally flawed for a while, and the Angeball bounce doesn’t paper over the cracks.

Cracks that are turning into chasams – Celtic are turning into a travesty of a Club.

    Hail Hail

  14. Morning

Could read back after the game yesterday – too raw but walking home I tuned into Clyde and listened to the glee from Keevins and the host stirring up the yahoos to be as extreme as possible.

While BR is not blameless if you think he is the problem you’ve been watching the wrong movie.

BR does not send a team out to play slowly or pass the ball backward too often or for wingers not to even attempt to beat a fullback. He does not send players out to lose headers, miss chances, delay shooting and to pass to the opposition and he most certainly doesn’t tell players not to pass to or try to make chances for Kyogo. He is also on record as saying he has not changed tactics from last season and it was clear yesterday that the fullbacks were inverted and there was plenty of forward passes into feet and trying to play off the front guys. It’s as clear as day that the bulk of our “available” squad are simply not good enough. This “he can’t get a tune out of a title winning team” is just bollocks – how many of our starting 11 yesterday were first teamers last season – I would say 5 and how many finished – 3. and what has replaced the bulk of the is not nearly good enough and was never going to be. I’m not saying our squad isn’t better than most but honestly it is marginal as has been seen many times this season. For example Killies team yesterday I would take both full over AT and AB defensively- would also say that both centre backs are easily as good as our “defensively”. Both wingers are easily as effective as any of ours. Add to this the obvious low block tactics which require quality to play through and hopefully it is clear – the new and “squad” players are not close to good enough to fill the jerseys of those that left or are injured. It’s little wonder our better players get spooked – they are surrounded by bang average teammates and there is no doubt it effects confidence. As I said BR is not without fault, I think his use of subs is suspect and more often than not weakens the team but that only highlights even more the lack of quality available. Could we have kept limitedbthe changes yesterday? I don’t know the fitness issues so can’t say for sure but could we have beefed up the MF to close it down? I’m not sure we have the players.

    The recruitment is a shambles
..in fact it would need to improve dramatically just to be a shambles. The dept responsible should be gutted as what has been put forward as Celtic players is simply shocking. That said I think the parameters they are working in are all wrong. The priorities are all wrong, the budgets are all wrong, the inflexibility of “the model” is wrong and it seems clear the personnel is wrong. That they weren’t able to strengthen significantly when the need was so obvious is as embarrassing as it is disgraceful. The players aren’t available is absolute bull – they are if you do your homework, offer enough and pay enough but our board do none of that regardless of how big the need or how much we both have in the bank or stand to lose if we don’t. People talk about team tactics but this is the worst tactic of them all and for the record who’s fault is that?

A board that shows no ambition and has no plan growth and/or improvement is all wrong and if this season goes as we mostly all expect they should hang their heads in shame. The mismanagement that will result is significant lose of revenue and profit is off the scale.

Conclusion – we could all do better but it’s all about players and we have recruitment appallingly. Sorry but BR must go is wrong target – he is not perfect but the players are simply not good enough and so weak physically and mentally but that is our policy. As someone said previously we are the team our board deserve

  15. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

Could turn out to be a season-defining game, though nowhere near as significant as the one in Eindhoven.

I don’t know why everyone is so wound up about our partner club possibly winning the league.

If they get the CL bounty and spend it well they will start pulling clear of us and then we will be able to start spending again.

AND we’ll have the old firm back at full pelt.

    Everyone’s a winner!

  16. As I left the stadium at the end of the game I was struck by the silence, both in the Jock Stein concourse and out in the open air. Very few were talking and most had stunned looks on their faces. There was a definite sense of resignation in the air as if the support had finally given up hope. And who could blame them?

  17. Oh how the tide has turned

    They’ve now got an Ange.

    And we’ve now got a Beale !

  18. AN DÚN on 18TH FEBRUARY 2024 8:11 AM

This isn’t about bottle, heart or making tweaks for me. It’s a chronic lack of talent throughout the squad.

    ——-

If you watch their goal, we are attacking, Yang cuts inside and beats his man but chooses not to shoot at the edge of the box. He didn’t want to take responsibility. The balls makes it’s way over to our right wing, Kuhn inexplicably doesn’t track back and in the 91st minute Killie have a free cross. To win titles you need to see the game out. Regardless of performance the result is the be all and end all. It’s about, heart, desire and bottle.

Our recruitment has been a catastrophe. The buck stops with the board. Kuhn is simply not good enough and has actually made the team worse. The strategy of picking up players for 2/3/4 million who have played 50/60 first team games is a busted flush. Mark Lawwell has to go and he will go, because the Celtic support are intelligent and they have turned on him. He’s finished. The complete incompetence and weakness of Nicholson and the executive has manifested its way onto the pitch. The players can’t cope with the pressure.

Wee Paul and his blessed model. 😂

What a crock of đŸ’© that’s been proven to be.

Roll up, roll up for more snake oil. There’s one born every minute

Except the fan base has figured it out. The Lawwell acolytes on here are in an ever shrinking minority.

Imagine setting your own son up as a hate figure? How out of control just your megalomania be?

  20. Hi Peter,

    How are you (and Mark).

It’s unbelievable how bad we played yesterday especially second half when I look at the stats.

I am thinking through the next article and the blame the manager routine will not wash. It will be ridiculed.

According to the “fans” your return and wasteful recruitment are the root causes behind the problems we are facing. There is a solid narrative taking hold about the nepotism around the club and club employees sickened by it. Also I should mention there is plenty of comment on our anonymous CEO who in my humble opinion is leaving you to take the rap.

We have blamed referees, VAR, fixture scheduling, banned the GB, the manager and of course played the nobody will sell us good players line. Can I at least hint of change to come — thinking out loud —- maybe a DOF like newco (top guy from PSV who are running away with the Dutch league). Stretching it further — what about a review of the recruitment dept.

    Would appreciate your help.

As always your most humble servant.

    Paul67.

    ——————————————————————————

    Paul67,

Jeezo are you for real. Am still working ma way through a box of cornflakes.

Stay on message we need Rodgers to take the fall—- only chance me and the boys have to stay in power. Mark is a future DOF so that sorts that one.

On Nicholson he was a useful puppet but he needs to go now. He is following me round like a puppy, I have got 25 missed calls from him since 6am this morning. I don’t what possessed me to appoint him. Time for him to take the blame too —- yeah start putting the boot in to him now. A rerun off the Dominic McKay game will be needed.

Well thats the full blown scottish breakfast arrived so need to go as am still starvin.

    Chairman Lawwell

ps can you stop using that newco patter its Rangers FC ; I saved them and helped keep their titles so its Rangers ok

pps go in really hard on the manager demanding he resigns as it will save us money

  21. DAVID17 @ 9:41 AM,

    Totally…

Just one other thing about there goal, weak defending at left back for us… who knew!?

The manager might have some blame to carry but the board should be sacked on the spot for the failure to even close to replacing what we have lost

  23. onenightinlisbon on

Rodgers must be extremely worried about his “brand” as I’m sure he has one eye on his next move.

Again, really simple – 11 Celtic players should not be dropping points to Kilmarnock, Hearts, Motherwell, Hibernian…

The board takes the blame for appointing him but he puts the team on the park and our present state is down to him.

Hope his next move is swift…….

  24. ONENIGHTINLISBON @ 10:21 AM,

Well, that’s the sort of hubris and arrogance that got us into this problem in the first place.

Where’s the rule that says no SPL Club are allowed to take points off Celtic!?

It’s been happening for over 145 years, if you know your history.

    Yet…

Where’s the law that says no Celtic Manager should have an over 90% record against the Rangerses?

Brendan Rodgers will be here for the season.

Brendan Rodgers will be here next season.

So get used to the idea and get used to the hunskelping…

    Hail Hail

  25. Apologies over 135 years.

    LOL

He will be actively looking for a way out, no question about that,

  30. Lots of talk about the recruitment and it would seem to be justified. However, if Rodgers has sucked the life out of our better players (Kyogo, CalMac and more recently MOR) is it possible that with good tactics, playing to our strengths and confidence running through the team we might see something different from our “projects”?

Remember earlier in the season and all the talk about Sevco’s wasted millions and poor recruitment? Now it looks like Dessers might end up with a winner’s medal. Amazing what a smart change of manager can do.

If many on here really believe Rodgers will be gone next season, why wait? Why not start building for potential CL qualifiers and see if we can get a bounce until the end of the season?

Sounds drastic? Drastic is our only hope as this isn’t working.
