Can’t see Lawwell’s wonder team of wee boys and 💩bags going to Ibrox and winning. They’re scared of playing in front of their own fans let alone the hun hordes.

That model though, eh? It’s the only way forward for a club like Celtic so it is. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  2. ZIGGYDOC1…

Yes, like Geebee says, we will not have an easy “Champions Route”, to qualify for the UCL if the thinkable happens…

    Hail Hail

    Chairbhoy @12.37

This is exactly the correct answer to the key question “what’s going on here”?

For those harbouring false hope that we’ll ’learn’ from this experience before facing Feyenoord etc I give you the past 20 years of the fat man’s stewardship. Not happening.

As an indicator of the bean counter’s perspicacity I give you his decision to make his own son his factotum (wee Paul has stiff competition there) and ergo a hate figure and pariah with the fan base.

The boys club stuff is covered by insurance that is why the insurers had their solicitors dealing with it. It will not amount to anything 100m. Thats a sevco fans wet dream. No the reality is we have a very Conservative board who don’t want to spend or increase expectation of supporters, ffs they have spent the last 20 years telling us we just can’t, just can’t bla bla bla etc.

The reason for that is likely due to clubs like Sevco who have thrown millions at it. They are deep in debt and even with the magic 50m c/l money they will likely break even with their current squad level and a demanding supporters base.

We are a breakeven football club with millions upon millions in the bank, both can’t be true

There’s an old adage that goes something like

“It’s amazing what can be achieved when you don’t care who gets the credit”

Think it has something to do with unity of purpose coupled with the absence of egos or individual agendas.

In troubled times I sometimes wonder what the flip of that adage is.

I’d guess “can’t be achieved”, “do care”, and “who gets the blame” would feature.

The huns are dreadful. And will probably win the treble.

Wrapped in a wee bow from P Lawwell.

  7. Watching huns game. The standard of football is atrocious. How we are behind this shower is bewildering.

  8. My thoughts only. The art of deflection. Very easy to blame the board for lack of investment and all that, but I firmly believe we have enough quality players to win the league at a canter, honestly.

The vast majority of the fault is the system the manager adopts, this tippy tappy passy backy went out 2 years ago. Look at Peps famous Barcelona, and they played tippy tappy and after a season or two , they has to alter their way of playing because teams had sussed it. Look at his style now at Citeh, totally different, the man has evolved and look at the results.

Sad thing now, is Brendan thinks his way is correct, the performances and results tell another story do they not.

Dont know why the players cant have a word with him and tell him it is not working, surely he can see.

Personally, I thing he is a massive narcissist , huge eg and loads of arrogance, and will not be told.#

    Got to go

  9. PETERLATCHFORDSBELLY @ 1:03 PM,

    “not happening”…

Exactly – the perception is everything, never explain, pseudo-Exec 101 is the mantra…

Not one for the news but get a few snippets in my feeds that catch my eye/ear.

Chris O’Shea, CEO of Centrica, was on the news, his accent caught my attention and sure enough, he was “local bhoy makes good”.

Now during an interview, he said rather esoterically, he couldn’t justify his very substantial renumeration package.

Which is interesting, Centrica has over 30 Bn pound in revenue and made 4 Bn in profit.

It was actually a very similar renumeration package that Peter Lawwell got in his last year as Celtic CEO.

When a Celtic shareholder had the temerity to ask the Board to justify PL’s renumeration package at the AGM, he was “slapped down”, by the then Chairman and told PL was worth “every penny”.

If Mark has the brass neck of his dad, he can shift the blame, blag it out and make himself a very wealthy man.

    Hail Hail

  10. KL

I don’t know him to say anything about his self image, however he has been given players through the model who aren’t better than the vast majority of journeymen that play in this league, they also dont have any physicality and some definitely lack guts. Check the results the team has regressed badly not that others have improved.

  11. Des 💯 we need to starve these custodians in order to get proper fit for purpose men to run our club.

  12. I wonder which of Brendan Rodgers signings aren’t performing.

In my humble opinion, our signing strategy is the single most significant consideration right now.

The various egos must remain in check.

  13. Hoople. Are you questioning my Celtic credentials. Wise up you cretin. I have been a Celtic supporter for 57 years. Had a season ticket for 10 years from Dr Jos time to the end of the Strachan era travelling from Ireland every other week. Take a hike you muppet.

  14. I keep hearing from some on here- the huns are shite.

They may well be but they’re getting results when we,who are also shite, are not

They have the momentum, the backing of the media, and the help of corrupt officials.

This is going to get worse

  15. Think things on here are going to get quite brutal now on here now, let’s hope for a better week next week.

    Afternoon all.

  16. Can I thank the person who said yesterday that The Hun still had to go to St Johnstone. That’ll be no shots on target St Johnstone. Fair point though I like a good laugh.

  17. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

    Hoople

Who said I was watching the huns game?

    Moronic conclusion.

    Why am I not surprised?

  18. We need maximum points from now till the end of the season. The problem is, the way we’ve played 90% of the season we’ll struggle to get maximum points till the end of the month.

    Something significant needs to change.

Given the board/manager/recruitment team have negligently failed there are not many options left.

At least until Hetate is back I’d like to see us move to a double pivot in the centre (McGregor and O’Riley), with Palma as a number 10 and Kyogo ahead. Wingers/forwards god knows, but play people where they’re suited.

  19. ADI_DASSLER NOT FOR 2ND BEST on 18TH FEBRUARY 2024 1:47 PM

They don’t have to blow teams away – just beat them. Something we’re not as good at.

  20. My friends in Celtic,

Reading earlier on here about the Spurs fan who maybe suggests that Ange could be a one trick pony .

An exciting, exhilarating one trick pony. It is no surprise that Spurs fans spend the most in England at their own ground.

Happy fans with a smile on their faces will spend more. It is a direct consequence of the feel good factor.

If I’m being perfectly honest , apart from the Kyogo hun game I’ve not really witnessed a feel good factor at Parkhead this season. We still turn up in huge numbers, but the entertainment and feel good factor is missing.

I still think its possible to grind out the league, but .there is no doubt we are massively underachieving on the park.

    HH.

  21. game management concern – midway through the second half Armstrong had a chance to score at the back post and scuffed his shot. Bernabei was nowhere near him. 2 things should have happened after that warning – Bernabei should have got a rollicking for not picking up his man OR Rodgers should have put on Rocky and moved scales to LB.

Neither happened and Kille score – we have no intensity on the pitch and no tactical nous off it!

We have decent players with their natural ability coached out of them. If we continue to do what we have been doing for months, the league is over. Dont kid yourselves. Rodgers must do something different – 3-5-2 or try Palma as a 10 – something to break this poor cycle.

  22. btw both penalties were stone wallers – brought on by woeful play from st.johnstone. When your tail up the ball breaks kindly and they have that momentum.

  23. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

    Stebhoy

I’ve supported Rodgers all season, but he’s given us nothing back. He’s a busted flush. He’s got no game.

  24. glendalystonsils on

2 penalties from a Rangers* supporting referee on VAR? Haven’t seen either incident but am 99% certain that’s a direct consequence of them only being one goal ahead late in the game .

The question is , who has been most helpful in the huns getting to the top of the league ?

Brother Aitken and friends or Celtic football club ?

  25. The Norwich 3rd choice striker had header right in front of goal to make it 2-0 befog HT .

    Goals change matches.

Simple truth is we dont score enough goals, nerves set in turns to panic, turns to mistakes and then susceptible late goals.

Sorry my friend I disagree – I watched it too

The Huns play a forceful game to their strength

No tippy tappy horseshoe possession from them

Get the ball in the box as soon as you can

They have bought well – to win the league

They have not bought to play attractive – they have bought to win

The Hun strategy makes perfect sense and is being executed by a decent Manager

We on the other hand ………………….

  27. STEBHOY @ 2:07 PM,

    That was interesting…

My thoughts when the team was announced, was Greg is getting the nod because no way is Bernabei handling Armstrong.

GT did well against him and contributed to our attack, however, when he came off my thoughts were he isn’t fully fit, certainly not match fit.

There’s been a few headscratchers for me with Brendan this season, one was sticking with the 4-3-3, another is not trying Liam out at left back.

He’ll have his reasons I’m sure, but we have conceded so many crucial goals…

Didn’t see the third but saw the second – it was a pen

The Huns are not the issue nor the Refs or VAR

The issue is us – its internal
