  1. Do the ibrox hoards demand their board only buy blue chips to go with the burgers ? asking fur a ned …

  2. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Rodgers has been an absolute disaster this season. From tactics, to team selection, to substitutions, to public statements and interviews.

He has made us much less than the sum of our parts.

He is currently broadcasting a strong vibe of a guy already reconciled to failure and playing the blame game.

But don’t let that fool you when Paul’s blog points all the blame his way. Marcello Lippi couldn’t have fashioned a winning team from the utter, utter dross in our squad. The state of that team and bench yesterday 😱.

The defence is woeful, midfield garbage and wingers worst of all. I’d play Forrest ahead of every one of them.

A team with Hatate, AJ, Taylor and CCV would be better, but under this version of Rodgers not good enough.

  3. BHEAVER

You’re right. Sorry, got my dates mixed up. He was in the squad for the Sevco game and made an appearance against St Mirren just before the Asian cup. FIFA rules say we were obliged to let him go.

The biggest surprise was that the Japan coach picked him with such a little amount of football.

  4. Watching this woman’s game is same old . Celtic giving the ball away to easily hundred passes across our 18 yard box going nowhere . And them tougher and rougher than Celtic .

  5. 67ECW…

It is “pathetic”, that these “custodians”, would allow company politics and power struggles to damage our Club.

Yet let’s face it, one thing they have in common is a great love of their own self interest – granny killers as they were looked on back in the day…

Yes, it will be BR in the sights, yet interesting we are seeing Michael Nicholson and DD getting it tight from Lawwellites.

Paul67 was always at his best when itk and free thinking.

No doubts he’s tied his colours to the mast now…

Guess we watch this space as the Ibroxian hoades wring their hands with glee…

    Hail Hail

  6. bheaver on 18th February 2024 3:53 pm

He played 7 minutes against Madrid at the end of October and didn’t play again for us after that. Surely that would give us plenty of pull regarding his participation in that tournament. Or does the country have the final say over the club no matter what.

    ——————————–

Country gets final say, usual practice is for the injured player to be assessed by countries medical team, then sent back if unfit.

Hatate is very injury prone, and though talented, runs hot and cold so even if Brendan decided to play him (when back fit) I doubt he will make much of a difference to this defeated squad.

  7. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

I suspect there is a schism. Paul’s blogs certainly suggest so. I’ve had that nagging instinct since he wrote a blog suggesting no chance Rodgers was returning only to be disproven the same week.

  8. Nobody knows if the league is over.

They just project their feelings onto despair or they expect that recent poor form will continue and Serco’s good run of results will continue. None of those assumptions is true and no forecasts can be derived from it.

The only thing that decides this league is future form in 12 league matches yet to be played.

Talking about transfer failures and rifts is irrelevant because we can’t do anything about these as fans.

Things are not good just now

    Things can and do change.

  9. Weebobbycollins on

By the way, who are these ‘big players’ who have still to come back for us? Hatate hasn’t really done much for BR and neither has Kyogo nor Maeda, and I don’t think CCV would have made that much of a difference.

New build required. However, no confidence in the builders.

  10. NOTTHEBUS @ 3:53 PM,

    It certainly is mysterious…

Yet why can we rule out infighting!?

    The known…

    BR came back

    The conventional wisdom

    PL didn’t want BR back

BR wouldn’t have come back without assurances

    The known

    BR hasn’t been backed

A total disconnect and there must be a reason for it…

    Hail Hail

  11. I expect Lenny will be appointed Republic of Ireland Manager this week, I don’t think he is the right man for the job but they have run out of time & candidates.

Regarding Celtic my spirit is bruised but never broken, 2 pts back with 12 games including 2 Derbies doesn’t faze me, but we have been awful for weeks and where is the spark that can change things.

I still have hope we can turn things around but don’t ask me for a logical explanation as to where I get my hope from.

If we lose the League I will be as devastated as any other Supporter but will celebrate twice as much when we win it back.

  12. PETERLATCHFORDSBELLY @ 4:07 PM,

Yes, that’s exactly the point, also fholk itk around the 2022 AGM stating they had it on good authority PL not returning.

P67 referred to it as Scottish football’s worse kept secret…

All very odd – when you see this season’s clusterfugg you have have got to wonder.

Do you remember several seasons ago Dave King predicted Celtic would “collapse like a pack of cards?

What did he know that we didn’t?

    Hail Hail

  13. Towel chuckers of the world please stay away.

The team needs supporters not torn faced Angus ogs.

Don’t go back I am happy to take up a seat next season for one.

  14. One you quoting Dave kings ludicrous pack of cards statements you lose all credibility.

The club won another double and then a treble while earnings were up.

What kind of collapse was that.

  15. I woke with a mild hangover and checked the hun score.

I wondered sarcastically how many pens they had; just the two then…watched the goals back and would say they were both right.

Keeping my blind faith intact for Celtic – we have a good team but leadership is questionable – it would be a shame if we lose the league because we weren’t good enough, that mob are nothing special.

  16. the long wait is over on

Ok so we’re two points behind.

We’ve come back from much farther than that.

The league is a bit like matches for us – we’re historically better if we’re chasing than needing to protect a lead.

One way or any or another it’s still in our own hands.

Too early for panic but clearly we need to step up.

Haven’t seen a minute of either our game or theirs but I gather they were celebrating wildly at full time.

Can’t remember who actually said it but it reminds me of something I heard many years ago.

Want to know who wins the final of a cup competition ? Look at the semi finals.

The team that celebrates getting to the final least is more likely to win the final because they don’t regard getting to the final itself as the achievement – only winning it is.

We’ve not celebrated going top once this season

because it means nothing at this stage ( as SFTB has pointed out several times of late.)

We have 12 finals to go.

Let’s judge it after that – not now.

  17. MARSPAPA on 18TH FEBRUARY 2024 4:04 PM

BRENDANS heart isn’t in it as he knows he’s being replaced by Klopp… there ye go , all in the world’s right again .

Aye known the board it’ll be Clippity!

  18. Prior to bringing in MON, DD wanted to give the job to Joe Kinnear, that was refuted by Alan McDonald who instead pursued Guus Hiddink which just as we were crossing the tees and dotting the dots DD came back with MON, which at the time was sensational for us.

At MON’s suggestion on handing his notice in his replacement was WGS, this is the same wee mhan that has always said a manager has a shelf life and figuring his was up did the same, however, after Tommy Burns Thursday while hauf his furniture was back in his home down south and with the removal van in the driveway DD allegedly demanded that PL offer him an extension to his contract, he did, and we now know how that season ended.

After the fraud bailed out on us DD brought Lenny back on a temporary basis, the same Lenny who also walked out on us, he did a stellar job though and we did clinch another treble, but again DD “suggested” to PL to give him the contract fulltime and we all know how that eventually ended.

Ange then used the “get out of jail” pass we offer prospective foreign signings by telling them we were the route to the EPL promised laned and took off for pastures new, unknown to us he had been flirting with several clubs, however its alleged that our board had several prospective managers lined up who would have been glad tae come.

But no DD takes off for the Mediterranean and persuades the much reviled fraud tae come back, he has but it seems that his bubble has burst and as he said he would NEVER quit but would only leave if he is fired.

  19. We are not a team full of Bhoys….but a team full of boys….getting bullied all over the pitch…..taking every decision lying down….this comes from the very top….getting bullied on and off the pitch. This IS a Managed Decline….we are back to the back of the bus….Custodians….Management…..Players….at this time….nowhere near fit for purpose….covid season all over again…..only next season the top tier will be empty for a different reason….this time last season…Celtic as a whole were as united as in any time in my living memory….was Brendan brought back…just for him to fail….as a GURFUY Brendan for walking out….rangers sacked their manager when they knew he wasn’t cutting it….will Celtic sack theirs when they now know he’s not cutting it…I would love nothing more than for Brendan to prove me wrong…But I can probably bet my house on it that he won’t….Our captain’s latest is right out of Taverniers book of excuses…the title is gone….shame on all involved…we were 7 points clear….and yet still not playing well….to now to be where we are…getting rag dolled by Killie….Aberdeen…Hibs….So yes…Desmond…Lawell….Rodgers….McGregor….This is ALL on THE LOT OF YOU…..season before Covid we were Treble winners….Season before this…we were Treble winners….both seasons will end up the same way….no trophies and no manager…

  20. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Yeah, he loses all credibility because Stivs says so. 😂😂😂 ma sides.

The Board’s wee yappy attack dog has been let out its kennel. 🐶

Watch out for sweeping ad hominem attacks from the scary chihuahua.

    Whimper.

  21. SFTB

What a load of nonsense you’ve just posted, ” things can change” yeah and they can get a load worse as well.

You’re suggesting because of results, us dropping points and Sevco winning that is the reason for the angst.

Not true, the evidence is also damning. Of course, when you have the ability to look at things from a football perspective and not a happy clapping perspective you see this much worse than some dropped points.

Put simply, you’re not winning anything with Ralston, Scales, Welsh Bernabei, Yang etc. That’s before considering low confidence and an atmosphere courtesy of CM. Just not the quality to get the job done. You can quote me on that.

Technically you’re correct things can change however the evidence if you remove the shamrock shades suggest that the odds are stacked in the opposite direction. I predicted this would unravel fast not because of some dropped points but by using experience, assessing the situation and having an awareness of the deep hole that we’re in. I’m a little bewildered that some fans on here are nowhere near that enlightenment yet, but it’s on its way.

I predict soon we’re seeing the if we win the 2 derbies posts appearing shortly and the calculators out lol.

  22. massive game next week – away to motherwell – can we get a reaction; can we score more than one, can BR get us a dominant performance?

  23. CORKCELT on 18TH FEBRUARY 2024 4:12 PM

*I’m a glass half full person, always have been, but somehow I have this gnawing feelin that I last had when we lost 2-3 to murderwell a week after losing 0-3 tae the huns on my last visit ever to the bigot dome, I would leave the country 5 months later, that had been only our second loss that season so far, we went down 1-2 tae them at Parkheid early on but had bounced back and were top of the League as we walked intae that den of hate that dreich and very wet day, we were truly abysmal for the rest of the campaign losing another 6 and tying 3 on top of the draw we had up at Tannadice early on, in fact we finished 3rd behind Hibs

But in saying that we actually won 3 cups that season, the Dryborough, League and Scottish so it wisnae all bad, just our 10 had been stopped, that summer a near fatal MVA had Jock out for the following season, and although he did come back with a double the next one, the truth be told he had lost his magic touch, looks like our current manager is the same.

As much as I respect the effort DD has put in to help us to the unmitigated success we have had I just wish he would let the professionals get on with the running of OUR beloved club

  25. Chiwawa.

    Lol.

As insults go that was em aas good as your level of support.

Hand your season card back. Your wasting a seat.

  26. Let’s try and get to the bottom of the who’s to blame game. This shouldn’t be hard, so I’m bemused many aren’t getting it but encouraged that by the fans chants , they’ve got the correct target.

If we are to look at what makes a team successful and create a pie chart you would see a split of approx, 70% players, 15% manager, the rest from confidence, tactics, support team togetherness.

Now, what many on here are suggesting is that it’s the 15% that needs to change and everything will be fine. That’s not how it works. In order to improve sufficiently, you change the 70 % which then impacts the other percentage much greater than changing the margins and expecting great results.

It’s akin to anyone trying to get in shape and concentrating on going to a gym whilst eating and drinking like a pig. Not going to happen because its 80% diet and 20 % exercise. Change the 80% and success is in the post, change the 20 % without the 80% and you’ll just spin your wheels forever.

  27. CHAIRBHOY on 18TH FEBRUARY 2024 4:11 PM

because its not how you run £100m business. it ts just not.

BR has potentially underestimated the job in hand. the ITK chat is he rejected almost all of the targets put in frot of him as no better than what we have at the moment . This is maybe a message to the board to up the game. He has thought he could win the league with what he had and has potentially blowm it.His arrogance in his own ability

whatever the reason, its a massive self inflicted wound

  28. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Now now Stivs, don’t be grumpy. Has Peter not been round yet to take you walkies? I’m sure he keeps you on a tight leash.

PS for one so pompous I felt sure you’d be a stickler for spelling.

    There’s a good boy.

  29. with Palma as a number 10

has anyone ever seen him play no. 10 , the only no.10 he should be is on a Bus to anywhere out of town , he would probably miss it anyway the number of times he has his head in his hands during a game, a one trick pony sand dancer.
