    Chairbhoy @7.21pm

Another excellent post. If only you were as credible as our old pal Stivs.

I too think we can still win this league – if we can stay in the race long enough to get our defence back.

Rodgers also needs to drop Scales for Nawrocki. We need a step up in tempo and aggressive passing from the back (like against the huns leading to Kyoto’s goal) and we’ll need to live with his defensive frailties.

Balance of risk and all that.

I reckon we have a 10-20% chance to turn this around.

    Will we? Not sure.

The response was referring to emotions dictating policy . I

BR comes with the credentials of an Elite Manager. he is not acting like one.

He is gaslighting at press conferences, passive aggressive nonsense about it never been a 7 point lead and we concentrate on us and he doesnt care about anything else. Really, what was the nonsense after the last derby all about then?, Remeber away at Perth when he had “never been so angry in his career”

If he is not happy come out and say it, better still go to the CEO and say it.

Start behaving like an elite Manger,

Takes a lot of creative licence to add 9 development loans for kids into our 1st team pool. Trying to add boys like summers, mckenzie, lawel, shaw, mcpherson, Anderson, kenny etc does not really offer a true reflection of the squad.

We do have a few more young guys out in their early 20s who at a push fall into 1st team players like Khan and tilio. I will give you johnstone, haksa.

We don’t have 42 1st team players, but we do have to many and outside hart our 30 something players are offering next to nothing I.e., forrest, mcgrathy, bain, segress etc.

  4. Just read Tom Lockyers diary of his heart attack on the pitch and also listened to his interview .

A really nice guy…brings it all into perspective really , it’s just a sport , we all want to win every game but unfortunately it just doesn’t work out that way .

Suppose we really need to take a step back and just hope it all ends well..

    Night all fellow Tim’s 👍☘️

  5. They are listed on the official list for Celtic Fc on the club website, how long have some of these guys been around the club yet they’re loaned out constantly season after season so we sign more players as those guys are deemed not good enough it would seem, costly for Celtic.

  6. SAINT STIVS @ 7:01 PM,

Yes the business has done well, like I’ve said many times the Football Club is what interests me.

The Celtic ethos is what interests me.

Playing football the Glasgow Celtic way interests me.

Maybe my lack of MBA:) but that’s just me…

Of course we want a solid business behind us, a well oiled money making machine is no bad thing

Yet if the business does a bit sh!t and the team gets UCL after Christmas I’m happy.

BTW: Did work for Blackstone back in the day, you want to meet some real hard-core, smartest guys in the room, business types – pop down to Mayfair…

    Hail Hail

  7. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

Remember – if we sack a manager who has won trophies, nobody else will touch the job with a bargepole…..

  8. With 12 games to go ,we still have a chance to win the league,Rodger’s needs bring back Johnson,CCV,Lagerbiele,Rocky,Taylor ,in defence, the midfield Hatate ,Iwata ,McGregor,Kyogo,Vatta,Hart, subs Oriley ,Palma,Madea,Oh an the Norwich loanee I forgot his name ,what do you think fellow fans .

  9. Poor Things!

No that was just one of the BAFTA winners

Not a comment on the vast majority of the posters on here…

No, how about after taking the lead in the first half Brendan and Callum figure out a way to win the second half playing into what used to be at least known as the Celtic End. As in the team and club we all er support.

Forget about 12 Cup finals, start thinking and preparing for the next game against the Mothers, on the training ground….

One day and one game at a time…..

    Sweet Jesus

  10. Superbru Round 26 update

    1. Bada Bing- 10.5 pts

3 = hairlikespaghetti, jmccormick and a thing of beauty- 9 pts

In a week of all round poor marksmanship, those who excelled like Sebo were

    1. Aipple- 1 point

    2= Scaniel & Chalmersbhoy- 1.5 pts

    3= BMCUWP, Auldheid, sammybhoy 6, McKenna_88, & that eejit SFTB- 2.5 pts

This leaves the overall picture as

    Leggy- 169.5

    BC Milan- 165.5

    Billy Bhoy- 165

    Cosy Corner Bhoy- 94 pts

Our next deadline is Saturday 25th at 3 pm with 5 fixtures including the Cousins visiting the Sons, while we go to Motherwell on Sunday. I hope to be in a better mood by then.

  11. PETERLATCHFORDSBELLY @ 7:55 PM,

    Yes agreed

The reason I’m more opTIMistic though is one of BR’s main strengths is winning crucial games.

It would not be a surprise to see our top players back, a much more direct approach and a huge performance at Ibrox.

    That will be key…

Of course the decider will be the Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park

    Hail Hail

  12. Choirboy

Unfortunately some people are just blinkered…you know who …

My wife and I have done quite well albeit worked our balls off …..been in The Corinthia London for a few days….great hotel .

We enjoy what time we may have left on this earth, as I said earlier , it’s just a sport and hopefully we can turn it round……unfortunately just can’t see it !

  13. *SENTINEL CELTS PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2023-24*

*RESULTS FROM GAME #35 CELTIC 1 KILMARNOCK 1 (KYOGO)*

    Good evening, friends.

I’ve mentioned a few times over the season that this is just a wee pastime and that everyone is free to join in, drop out, vote now and again, whenever they like. At full time yesterday I could have seen the competition far enough and decided that I wasn’t going to issue a single reminder for folk to vote. I went to bed last night having only received 9 emails. But things picked up a bit in the cold light of day although it still beat all previous ‘lowest poll ever’ records. However, somebody has got to be awarded the points and the MOTM awards so let’s ignore any match report and move on to the stats…

We have now played 35 competitive games, enjoying 23 wins, 5 draws and 7 defeats, scoring 68 goals and conceding 33. We trail in the league by 2 points and the team at the top have a 3 better goal difference. We have 12 league games remaining but a real fight to try to secure our 54th league title.

My thanks to the 32 who voted this time around (2 folk only nominated a single player). The total votes cast for each player are as follows, with my own nominations asterisked.

    Hart*: 26

    Ralston: 9

    Welsh: 1

    Scales: 4

    Taylor: 15

    McGregor*: 6

    O’Riley: 2

    Palma: 0

    Idah*: 9

    Kyogo: 19

    Maeda: 0

    Yang: 1

    Bernabei: 0

    Bernardo: 0

    Kuhn: 0

    Oh: 0

    Naeb’dy: 4

And so, the players receiving POINTS for the game against Kilmarnock are –

    Hart – 5 points

    Kyogo – 4 points

    Taylor – 3 points

Idah and Ralston – 2 points each

The overall positions after 35 games played are as follows –

    82 points – Scales

    74 points – O’Riley

    57 points – McGregor

    38 points – Carter-Vickers

    32 points – Hart

    28 points – Palma

    27 points – Kyogo

    22 points – Bernardo

    21 points – Johnston, A.

    20 points – Oh

    18 points – Maeda

16 points – Taylor and Yang

    10 points – Ralston

9 points – Johnston M, Nawrocki and Turnbull

    8 points – Idah

6 points – Iwata and Lagerbielke

    5 points – Hatate

4 points – Bain, Bernabei, Holm and Kuhn

3 points – Forrest and Welsh

    2 points – Abada

0 points – Frame, Haksabanovic, Kelly, Phillips, Starfelt, Tilio, Vata and Welsh

Our next game is in the league next Sunday with a noon kick off, away to Motherwell. There’s every chance that we will kick off 5 points adrift.

    Hail Hail!

  14. ERATIC @ 9:03 PM,

Spot on, work hard, play hard, glad you and your wife are having a ball… sounds like you well deserve it…

My life certainly has a different approach now, but certainly the Hedonistic days (and nights) in London has no regrets:))

    We’ll turn this round – no doubts…

    Hail Hail

Start behaving like an elite Manger

    —-

Do you think elite managers, or even average managers, should come out publicly and start a war against their own board while in a title race?

As for going to the CEO, what makes you think he hasn’t ?

  16. NOTTHEBUS @ 8:01 PM,

Having watched all the press-conferences BR has given since his return.

Watched pre-match and post match interviews on TV and CTV.

    Your description is quite unrecognisable

“He is gaslighting at press conferences, passive aggressive nonsense about it never been a 7 point lead and we concentrate on us and he doesnt care about anything else.”

You obviously are not understanding what he’s saying and where he is coming from…

Things like “The Aggregation of Marginal Gains”

    https://jamesclear.com/marginal-gains

The dichotomy of control, prioritising what is important to high value organisations and key to elite performance.

Certainly Brendan got mixed up on the seven points clear, the journo clearly states it was when Micheal Beale left, he was thinking more recently when we were clear of them under Clement yet they had games in hand.

What are the Rangers dae’n and the SMSM agenda will be far down his priorities.

An easy mistake, not a hung, drawn & quarter offense…

    Did Ange play their game?

Normally I’ve directly quoted, shown examples to back up what I’m saying, you’ve shown unsubstantiated claims of psycho-babble.

    Hail Hail

  17. I’d really like the Dom McKay NDA to be torn up.

The club as a business stinks.

Ange came in and it looks like he controlled everything. He leaves, BR comes in and probably thinks that things have improved and the discovers the structure is an absolute mess. We’re not top of class in any aspect.

Dom McKay sanctioned the buys of several players mid twenties and up – Starfelt, Kyogo, Juranovic and GG.

He leaves and we haven’t signed a 25yo + player since. McKay broke away from the transfer strategy we’re seeing play out before us.

Ange’s last 3 windows were all poor and similar to what we’ve seen under BR – young prospects. So I don’t think he was calling the shots, McKay sanctioned the deals for the older players and he got his cards for it.

  18. CHAIRBHOY on 18TH FEBRUARY 2024 9:27 PM

Alternatively, given you clear and precise examples of duplicity …at best. I call it gaslighting.

hr is “not surprised” ay yesterdays copulation. Really!

Time he stepped up to the plate and got his team wining matches..and with some style

  19. Just remember ‘ you’ve never had it so good….’,meanwhile we have £100 million in the bank,(someone will be along shortly, to say its not that much),and it’s all good. This Club is in a shambolic state. We are throwing this League to a shite huns team, with a shitload of money, which they will spend to keep ahead of us,that’s the reality we are looking at,unless we can turn our form around, I’m not sure if we can.

  20. “Daddy, what did you do during the war?”

“Son, I was the oppositions twelth man. I jeered Celtic’s players off the park and chanted “Sack The Board”.

There’s a Double to be won.

100% behind Brendan … this team needs the second goal if they don’t get it they start worrying ..

Following Celtic should never just about winning some fans seem to be more worried about the Huns than their own team … following Celtic should never be just about winning all the time …

    100% behind Brendan 🍀

    Win lose or draw

  23. 418 / Kev

You don’t really like Celtic in any form unless Mark McGee is bollick naked up front with a naked George Galloway playing in the hole .. on a Celtic fitba site you will never post about fitba … but knock your self out

Your input is as much as the rest of us … mate

  24. Fred C 12.50am

    Yip ..

I think he is celebrating his 70yrs all this week, sadly got a funeral this Wednesday… one of the bhoys who went to CQN11 on the mini bus .. asked T … if he was going to the funeral … all kidding aside he said .. “the family have already booked me to work”

Sean was with us yesterday but he is a bit quieter than Tommy :-)

  25. SIONNAIGH (11.29) indeed. Supporters support, faithfully through and through. And their support is needed most when things aren’t going well. Fans are fanatics, who get more fanatical when level heads are needed, which only makes the situation worse!

Jobo Baldie (earlier), a noticeable and worrying stat amongst your quoted figures is 35 games played with 68 goals scored. That’s fewer than 2 per game!

Last season we scored 114 league goals (3 per game). After 26 league games we have scored 24 fewer than at the same stage last season. The goals conceded figure is identical at 18.

It’s pretty obvious where the problem lies, and it isn’t with the perpetual flux in our defence.

Equally worrying however is that since Rangers lost 3-1 at home to Aberdeen on September 30th, they’ve won 17 drawn 1 and lost 1. Meanwhile Celtic have won 13 drawn 4 and lost 2.

People can call Rangers poor, average or whatever, but at the evidence suggests that they are absolutely relentlessly getting the job done. And while I have little confidence for the two remaining fixtures against them, I feel that Celtic will have to win both to have any chance of retaining their champions crown, because I just can’t see Rangers dropping points elsewhere… which I certainly can’t say about Celtic!

  26. And .. see for all the Celtic fans that say (or post) we gut all the money just buy better players

You sound like the Huns of the 90s

    Stick by your team ..

Don’t enjoy the many good times if you

    Start shoiting

    Yourself if we don’t win

You’d never survive the 80s CSC

  27. Back to Basics – some really good points again; I also thought “we” the “supporters” need to up our game, I thought we didn’t generate any confidence in this young team- it felt like we kinda bought into the MSM anti Celtic Narrative, also looks like they have infiltrated this site with almost belligerent contentious combative support dividing opinion, clearly designed to enhance the Sevco becoming more and more popular Scottish myth.

At times on Saturday we were so nervous in the stands, you didn’t feel we were turning up to support the Celtic through and through, we actually made it sound like the pantomime of playing directly into generating strong negative waves- creating a sense of panic and inevitability towards the end of the game in particular – giving new lease of life and belief to a wee sevco supporting midden like Derek McInness and his team, who needs no encouragement from us.

To us a “ clever” Celtic support all seems a bit why are we doing this? We must all know we are in a fight, so shouting – sack the board? Why? How does that hep us in this fight?

Sack Peter Lawell a non-executive board member? Why continue with this nonsense narrative?

Why now? Who does it help at Celtic when we are in this fight? Who does it calm down? Who gets the extra belief?

As a result of us (Celtic supporters) buying into this negativity who in this young team do we think we are improving and helping?

Are we are all in this together and supported the team we want to see win this title? Or are some of us; clever thoughtful supporters alternatively being played and it’s others who are gaining extra undeserved momentum at this crucial time- as a direct result of a load of negative nonsense with narrative we are encouraging directly or indirectly to be spouted?

I believe that this young team need the “back to basics” type support not so much of the “ David 66” generated perspective, hopefully not deliberate but really feeding into the mind numbing MSM anti Celtic propaganda – no proven facts approach, worse ignores obvious basics facts that a young child could check; a shared position that ultimately only helps sevco.

The Board and Peter Lawell – I would logically assume, like me, only want the best for Celtic. As stated we look nervous because because because all been said. Can we please also reflect the bias ref also played his mind games part with the young team, he was as he always is – I know I agree we should cope better but it still remains a fact.

In my very humble opinion (imvho) I think now is the Time, for the rest of the season, for all TRUE CELTIC Supporters: who want to actually see Celtic win, who want to see our team create the best set of outcomes; circumstances that generate confidence on the park, to get 100% behind all who are working for our great club Celtic, particularly on the football side – and stop all the side tracking non football negativity that plays blindly into the MSM hands. And doesn’t benefit us in any way.
