Wednesday — the opposition had a bit of class and a plan.
Today — the opposition were very limited and played too often like the bottom of the league team they are.

Yes, but it is about the quality of the shots. We had around 15 or 16 shots from outside the box on Wednesday, 7 of which (I think) were blocked.
Today Klimala was through on goal and we had multiple decent chances in the 2nd half. If we had kept the 4-6-0 in, I would assume we would have had more possession as we would be passing in front of two banks of 4 and would have had more shots and we would be hitting them from everywhere.
No mistake about it. Neil made a mistake tactically on Wednesday and today, but at least rectified it at half time today.
Good tims with valid arguments on either side getting overheated with each other.
Today has not turned things round but, at least, it is better to have won today than the two possible alterbative results.
We won well and deservedly in a typical “wear then down’ by out passing them.
I am pleased for Neil but his decisions are not all vindicated by a win any more than they are trashed by a defeat. Despite my wee jokes at Kilmalla’s misses, we looked much more coherent and threatening with more natural strikers leading the line. I don’t care if Neil claims vindication , so long as he does not do that again.
James Forrest palyed really well (for someone in the full back’s pocket) but we do need to find a way to accomodate all our good players. To keep Elyanoussi, Forrest and Frimpong on their toes we need a challenge from Johnston, Dembele, Harper or AN Other.
Our team showed passion today and started to pay us back for Wednesday, but I will have no lighthouse thinking. We still have a long way to go and a long way to improve.
P.S. Big Ajer, for all his faults, will have added money to his transfer value with that performance today.

Sorry but suggesting Klimala wasn’t match fit on Wednesday
looks a bit silly. Either utter rubbish or he has a time machine
Brilliant result for us. Callum and Jamesie dug Neil Lennon out of a hole of his own creation today. Superb finish by Ajeti. That’s the way to do it. Patryk will come good given time and games. Well done Celtic!

I wanted DT (David Turnbull) in the team today …. some have posted about a “gentleman’s agreement” maybe the Bhoy himself didn’t want to make his debut against his “team” look across the water the Huns are selling players to Hibs and Aberdeen and not allowing them to play against them the rest of the season … DT really excites me I think he is top notch

The major positive to me is that there was no sign of players not playing for the manager and those “agitating for a move” still looked like they were giving all for the team.
We have the best squad in Scotland. Use them correctly, in their correct positions and we’ll win the league.
Only Celtic can stop Celtic this season.

Turgid first half.
Ajeti, Klimala and Frimpong allowed things to move up a few gears.
I said before the game I would prefer to see Frimpong play in front of El Hamed rather than JF. By switching JF to the left, Lenny made a great call. Ely did very, very little.
All’s well that ends well.
Except Ryan Christie’s corners.

Well done the Bhoys, right result at the right time.

Would prefer not to lose any of our better players any time soon, that said there are more than a few good players not playing today.

1st half – wrong set up / tactics – difficulty breaking them down – hard to watch
2nd half – better set up / players — easier to watch and create chances – almost enjoyable
2 weeks to mould the squad (ins and outs) and fitness boost for key players
Please Lenny make 3-5-2 our default formation. If old school players can’t get a start so be it.
It’s along hard season ahead – EL, SPFL, Betfred and 2 x Scottish Cups – everyone fit and ready

The gloom has been lifted after Wednesday night and in fairness the team did ok with a nice three goal win to bolster our goal difference. What a start to his move to Celtic for Ajetti with two important goals in his couple of SPFL games – great for his confidence. Didn’t see the match but sounds Patryk Klimala also did well listening to the radio commentary. Strikers on the pitch do make a difference.

I found it hard to believe believe that Klimala and Ajeti were unable to manage at least a decent chunk of 45 minutes between them on Wednesday .
After today’s game , I think I was right to be sceptical. With The Hungarians tiring in the second half , the outcome could have been different .
I know Ferencvaros are a better side than Motherwell and I’m not having another kick at Lenny , simply making an observation.

Ryan had a corner that went out for a throw.
I didn’t mention it in case I was accused of negativity or even
Hunnery. Like Taylor and Frimpong get some practice in.
Those of us who remember Didier Agathe he was like the cheetah
in Bedknobs and Broomsticks but couldn’t cross to save his life.
There’s no worry about Klimala’s fitness but there is a worry that Ajeti has a ways to go to be fully ready.
The worry about Klimala is that he is not yet ready to be trusted to lead our line, and in Europe, we are more likely to be one up than two up front.
He looks hard working but lacking in game sharpness. He cannot get that without getting more domestic starts or sub appearances but he also has to earn them. On today’s performance, Ajeti is ahead in the race to partner Eddy but you just cannot rule out a hard working young player like Paddy. He will get better- whether it is good enough when he gets better- only time will tell

Old JF was rank on the right for 60 minutes.
He had one good strike for his goal but that was it.
So appreciation of his skill to hit an outrageous shot with a lot of fade.
But criticism for the rest of his performance which was him spaffing his talent up against a wall.
He was better on the left but he was very wasteful as he cut inside against a tiring defence and had one good strike out of 4 — what the opportunity cost of him shooting so wastefully when we had two new strikers playing in the middle?
He needs to grow up.

Exactly. Those were silly comments. Of course we wanted a win today and especially against

The FACT remains, the manager’s selection was bizarre and his “tactics” even more so.

now to the strikers conundrum, I thought both did indeed look not quite fit.
Patrik ran a lot but in the closing down stakes he was puffing some.
Ajeti was blowing out his arse in his first couple of runs,
But then both took up good (can we say natural) strikers positions and opportunities.
As others say, maybe we have to wear the other teams down,
