  1. lets all do the huddle on

A lot of rumours McInnes bagged tomorrow

as much as he is a hun rat

im not too sure who else the sheeps could get in that could do more than he has for them

cup finals, 2nd, 3rd in the league etc

they cant expect much more from any manager

  2. Hugh Taylor in his report in the Daily Record ( yeah I know) following the game said Celtic should have won 4 nil.I don’t remember too much about the game, but remember the concrete that was led on the terracing beginning to ‘thaw’ due to incessant rain.

  3. Let’s all- Cormack will have a soccer guy from the US lined up, McInnes is a fraud, should have been hunted years ago.

  4. BTW I would love a match programme from that night if anyone knows how to get one. I would also love a match programme from Glentoran (yes – a lot of Catholics/Nationalists followed the Glens in the late 60s) V Benfica 1967-68. The Glens drew in Lisbon 0 – 0 and went out on away goals rule, after 1 – 1 draw at the Oval in the first game (great quiz question – first team to lose out in such a way). I later actually interviewed Peter Mc Parland as part of a school project (organised by Seamus McKee – English teacher in St. Pats Knock and later BBC news presenter). Memories…………

    ==============

I told the story on here many times. My first huns game , 2nd April 1980. we win one nil with the mcgarvey header. I am 13, new pair of desert boots on from smitha in weat blackhall street.

we had to go to the doigs depot behing what became the louden tavern, because our bus had been stoned on the way to the game.

all hell breaks loose, we got attacked, the bus took off, dunky campbell told me to get on the bus, i chased it up duke street,

    i lost a desert boot,

    dunky stayed to fight.

i caught up on the bus, one boot on, big mick , hinging out the door pulled me on the bus,

    i was in bits, tears,

    what about dunky,

mick said, what about them poor huns, or something like that,

then at the next set of lights, i would guess about coias now, the bold dunky jumps on the bus,

might be my greatest memory supporting celtic.

    aye

    but realistically

they can only finish 3rd in the table

    and get to cup finals

    mcinnes does that for them

i wouldnt like to be aberdeens new manager if his goal is to do better than mcinnes

Dundalk trip return trip, spent too much money in the pubs by the time we got back to Scotland, only had enough money for the bus ftom the port to Kilmarnock.

Long long journey when you needed a piss most of the time😱😵😯😕stopping very periodically

The Cliftonville -Celtic game in ’84 at Solitude in which Big Mick sustained an eye injury, completely innocent,I had to tell his wife Mary (RIP) that he was not involved in any disturbance of any kind, she said ok to me and Big Mick got a reprieve. If the RUC had not come to solitude that day I believe things would have been fine.

  9. lets all do the huddle on

Let’s all- Wright or Clarke would have done better with the budget they have IMO

    better?

beat us in a cup final?

    win the league?

    na

i think where he has fell down is europe

papped out every year to jokers

but still cant see another manager doing anything different

Thinking back to playing Cwmbran Town in Cardiff back in August 1999, after the game myself and my brother found our motor in the back streets around the ground, we were driving back to London, only to be approached by a younger fellow Celtic supporter, somewhat inebriated, who seeing us wearing our regalia asked us if we could give him a lift back to the pub where his Supporters Club, (from Glasgow) were reconvening after the match before taking the bus back. “Sure no problem, what’s it called and where is it?” Well we spent the next half an hour or so driving all over the shop stopping at just about every corner pub in the whole area….with our new friend in the back seat of the Volvo, apologising non-stop ….

“Sorry for being such a Bam”, to which we said, no problem we’ll find the place..

    Almost gave up the cause, when we came across yet another Cardiff drinking shop, and this time we decided we’ll go inside with him as a last resort;

“Anybody in here f***in knows this guy?” And thankfully we were finally in the right place at the right time, much to the amusement of his fellow travellers. Quick thankyou drink and en route to the Big Smoke….

I was also at iPox when we lost 5 1 after going 1 up ..

  14. Watching the SuperBowl to discover that the actual crowd is around 30,000 but it is supplemented with another 30,000 of cardboard photographs silhouettes, which fans can submit for $100 a shot. It’ll never catch on……oh yes it will.

Takes me back to the days of John Major, when, in a time of spending cuts, Police Forces introduced cardboard police cars, invariably on Motorway bridges, to deter drivers from speeding, and traffic offences like that.

Now I remember, at that time, back in the 1990’s driving up the M6 past Manchester, around the M62 and noticing one up on the highway crossover. I thought, I’ll ignore that and push on through to the other side, and put the boot down. Big mistake! Not long after, blue lights flashing behind I get pulled over. I stay in the motor only to see this cardboard cop walk up to my side of the Rover 3500cc…..

I roll down down the windae, as you do, and said cop leans down and says to me….

“You know something….. I’m not cut out for this job”…..

major betting coup on the go today that could cost the bookies many millions

3 non-descript horses running today were plunged on last night at big prices with various bookies in what was obviously a co-ordinated plan

2 of them have already won

if Gallahers Cross wins the 4.25 at musselburgh then the bookies have been stung big time

1 online bookies said it will cost them millions so the total cost could be 10 million at least

will be big news if it happens

and will no doubt have the police looking into it for anything dodgy going on

    ……………………..

I enjoy a few Horses racing bets most days.

Being an early riser, I noticed the horse ” Gallahers Cross” at 6AM yesterday morning on my Bet365 online account, and the Betting Odds had went from 25/1 to 7/4 Fav …probably from Saturday night ?

Obviously, I had no idea of any Betting coup, with this horse or any other until mid Morning…when I saw another Horse at a different meeting had been gambled from 14/1 down to around 4/5.

I took note of both horses to perhaps back later as I was busy with my own little ” Coup” at Leopardstown with the Dublin Festival taking place.

ITV4 were covering the Racing yesterday on TV from 1pm and soon after the programme had started , one of the Pundits began to speak of a possible Coup on 3 horses. The first horse ” Fire Away” then WON at odds of EVEN Money in the 1.25 at Musselburgh. I noticed that this horse had also been gambled down from 25/1 overnight.

ITV4 continued to follow this ” Story” through their programme, especially after the 2nd Horse also WON in the 2.35 at Southwell.

They were reporting that IF the 3rd and last Horse was to WIN at Musselburgh ( Gallahers Cross) it would cost the bookies 10 MILLION or more, as the 32 horses had been backed in Singles, Doubles and Treble.

Anyway, although the 3rd Horse in the Coup failed to win, the Bookies reckon that they still had Big pay outs due to a ” DOUBLE” coming up.

I myself was a wee bit unlucky as one of my bets was at Leopardstown and an EACH WAY Double. I backed Two Horses…Leopardstown 4.10 race…and my Horse ( Livelovelaugh )… finished Third at 28/1 ( it did look like winning the race for a few moments)…and my other horse WON at odds of 18/i in the last Race at Leopardstown ( I backed it at 20/1)..it was called ” Grangee”.

So I had a nice wee Each way return with both horses being placed and a wee Single bet on Grangee at 20/1.

IF…the 1st horse had won…I would be posting this from the Feckin Bahamas !

    LOL .

  16. I see Liverpool are thinking about replacing Klopp and rumour has it that they are looking North to Glasgow. I don’t think Neil should take it.

  17. A very good drinking Pal of mine was a Celtic player in the late 1970’s. He was sold on to a Club in Wales. It broke his heart to leave Celtic and he never forgave Billy McNeill, and Big Billy made sure that my mate missed out on his brothers wedding, when he was due to be Best Man. My mate made Billy fully aware of his brothers wedding etc in advance, but Billy made sure that he was part of the squad for an away game, at which my mate sat in the Stand and never kicked a ball.

    Sad story.

The “UP” side to leaving Celtic was his signing on Fee and wages down in Wales, as he was then able to buy his 1st house for him and his wife.

I keep telling him that he was so lucky to have worn The Hoops….hes Celtic mad…but still bitter.

Hopefully gives the rest of the team a lift too.

  20. Bhoy From The Boyne on

I think Klopp’s Liverpool probably last season before covid.

He will stay on next season but failure to win EPL or CL will see him move on and probably then for slippy to take charge.

The idea of Slippy falling to bits at Liverpool in future excites me, they both deserve each other.

Hardest part of this season is that we couldn’t put Sevco Rangers under any sort of pressure. They would have buckled again along the way. A competent management team would have had us challenging all the way to season end.

Instead we have given Sevco a pressure free procession to the title.

No individual is bigger than our club and no Celtic manager should be allowed to remain in charge following this seasons on field incompetence.

  21. Bhoy From The Boyne on

    Gene,

I agree on Klopp not leaving soon, not so sure they wouldn’t go for Slippy G at some point in future. Maybe less so if we get our house back in order and win back the title next season.
