    How many of our Celtic ‘heroes’ of the past have gone on to criticise the club, either in interviews or in their media work?!

     

     

    I can’t ever see big Sammi doing that.

    Sammi the Enigma

     

     

    A player that has stated that he does not play for the money but to win things.

     

    A player that has said often enough he came to Celtic for less wages than at City, where is career had stalled.

     

    A player who refuses to sign a new contract and decided to run down his contract.

    I think it happened when we came back from 0-2 away to win 4-0 at CP the ole European Cup lang syne- I could be wrong I was still at Primary School and had a wee shot of Eldorado on the Greenock CSC bus en route ( or ‘through Renfrew’ as we used to say)

     

     

    Sammy owes us nothing – drives me crazy at times but will leave great memories

    I had SSB on when the first caller comes on. Celtic have just scored three goals with other good chances and what does the caller lead with?

     

     

    A go at Sammi. If I had views like that I would be embarrassed to show my degree of ingratitude to the world. It says all about the caller and nothing about Sammi.

     

     

    Gaudi then went OTT and I think he knew it.

     

     

    The thing is guys, this is how agendas and talking points are created – to give callers something to talk about. It seems though that a negative judgement is more likely to stimulate response than a positive one.

     

     

     

    I think it was a set up call.

    Evening , enjoyed the game today , St mirren gave us a game in the first half with mcginn and McGowan looking good ,; virgil made 2 good blocks at 0-0 ; 2nd hlf we stepped it up and could/should have been more. henderson played well for one so young , johansen as well (good goal) ,

     

     

    anyone see the offsides on tv , looked close at the game but stokes and griffiths are prone to beinbg offisde on occasion :)

     

     

    good to see sammi for 10 mins and he gets an assist.

    I for one hope that Sammi can be persuaded to stay. Enigma – yes. Frustrating – yes.

     

    At his best, he can be the difference in European games and thrives on the quick break game that we are often forced to play. For those that want him away, ask yourselves, how much would a replacement with similar attributes and experience cost?

     

    He also gets Celtic big time.

    No one here is slating Sammi he is a fine player and has been a good servant to Celtic there is no doubt about that.However, he has up to now refused the new contract that has been offered and looks likely to leave in the summer (unless you guys can tell me different ).So I can see no point in giving him game time over younger strikers who are the future of the club.H.H.

    if anyone had come in for him.

     

     

    I will always be grateful for his ‘double’ at the orcdome

     

    and last seasons CL performances also, in our two games

     

    v’s Barca this season Sammi would have been as well playing

     

    them himself – for all the help he got especially from SB at CP.

    I love Sammy, for what he has done for the club.

     

    He has never said he is leaving.

     

    Last time his contract was running down he signed a new contract fairly late in the day.

     

    He isn’t away anywhere yet.

     

    Not his best season, that doesn’t mean next years will be the same.

     

    In European games he has been unplayable, he frustrates me too, but he terrifies defences when on song, terrifies them.

    So no room for negotiation then, he’s no signed the contract, get him out the door and replaced pronto. Aye its time to replace a player at his physical peak with a wee bhoy but thats no slating him.

     

    Theres a lot of people who still begrudge Sammi any kind of Kudos.

    Pretty turgid first half, felt very sorry for young Henderson as he thumped the turf after missing with that snatch-shot. But he had a fine game imo.

     

     

    Went up a couple of gears in the second half, especially when Efe came on and Charlie moved up the park.

     

     

    I was delighted to see Sami on. I hope he stays. The man took a huge wage drop to join us, fell in love with us, nixed talk of big-money moves saying he is very happy at Celtic, has played straight all the time he has been with us, and has become a talisman for us in Europe. He is also, always, a class player.

     

     

    That remind you of anyone?

     

     

    I would like Sami to finish his playing career at Paradise, then join the back room.

     

     

    He is what we are about. IMO.

    Sammi has been a model professional for us in every respect and if he stays I would not be unhappy

     

    However we were never going to find out anything by playing him today

     

    It would have been better IMHO if we had sent on the young Icelander for the last 10 minutes

     

    Was disappointed that big Amido was not even on the bench today -is he injured?
