A wee bit beer help please. I was at one of my happy Hour haunts yesterday and had a Sweetwater IPA, barmaid said the had got in a couple of of new IPA’s and she showed me them. One was Innis & Gunn Oak Aged Beer, Edinburgh. I have never heard of it and I am going there in about an hour to try it out. Any reviews from the talented beer drinkers of CQN. TIA

Joe, what you are saying is that players should sign the contract handed to them by management without a murmur.
Like in the bad old days when players had their registrations held by their club, and were powerless to negotiate a better deal for themselves.
Clubs could, and did, tell rebellious players: either take what we are offering you, or you won’t play professional football ever again. (And some didn’t)
It took Johnny Haynes at Fulham, and Ron Eastham at Stoke, and that notorious Scargill-esque Jimmy Hill to put and end to what was basically indentured slavery.
So Sami and every other footballer has every right to say ‘no, thanks’ to the first offer of a new contract, in the hope of getting a better one. I’d do it – wouldn’t you?
Jeg er Neil Lennon. No thats not what I am saying Sammi or any other player has the right to turn down any contract offer either in hope that they will get a better offer or they can become a free agent and move to another club. What I am saying when a player has been offered a contract but does not wish to sign it and there are only a few months until he can leave the club for free what are you getting by playing him before a promising youngster. In my opinion the youngster deserves the chance before the player who is running his contract down.If Sammi was so Celtic minded he could do a Stan Petrov and sign the contract and Celtic would get a fee for him if he leaves. H.H..

Neil Canalamar. F.Fs. Contract does not expire this summer so if any club want him they will have to pay Celtics asking price but if he was in the same position as Sammi I would say exactly the same for him as I am saying for Sammi. However,Celtic have to try and not let players they wish to keep or get money for run down there contracts.H.H.

Stefan looking better and better. Stokesy back to his best as were the GB . NS linesman must have been out last night. I love big Sammi and wish him well. Freezin in 403 but worth every shiver.
When I go to the match all I demand is that the players do their very best. Most times this season they have IMO. My circumstances luckily allow me to attend every home match. I can’t imagine not going. We have choices and those who don’t go then up to them. Who cares? HH.

Neil canalamar. As far as I am aware Vic was not running his contract down Celtic received an offer that was acceptable to them and Vic wanted to play in the EPL.So there was agreement all round. As far as I know Celtic could have turned the offer down and Vic would have remained a Celtic player a different situation entirely.H.H.

Griffiths was not booked. The ref did have the card out, but he was just making a record of the score. Mini SS and myself watched intently…
If memory serves they use ex-whisky barrels when making it so it has a tang all of it’s own. Have to confess, not my favourite cos whiskey ain’t my bevvy of choice (with apols to Skyisalandfill!!!!)

Off out now enjoy the Sammi debate.
If this had been in the 60s it would have been the Yogi debate.
Unplayable on his day.
Oh, and last time Sammy was running down a contract he had several options, NFL told us that. From memory not a source.

How do you know no one has been beating down the door ?
………….
Because he would have gone like Ledley.
Circumstantial evidence I know but you think PL would not have taken the money?
Good night offfffffff

Thanks.
Googy, PL may have accepted a bid, or several, but if Sammy says no, then no deal will be done.
Googy..,
Nah, player has to agree to move, though that could be a reason for forcing him out the door.
