  1. What is the Stars on

The awkward moment when Celtic dont lose and haven’t sold anyone.

How is Lawwells puppet Paul 67 going to spin this. Probably some guff about how well run we are .and all the board loving happy clappers will lap it up.

This is the worst Celtic site ever.

Dermot Desmond is paying Gerrards salary FACT.

But you wont hear that mentioned on here.

Sell Dembele now. You don’t fool me Mr Lawwell you Cad.

    ???

  2. EMERALDBEE

Agree about the Scottish refs inability to count out ten yards.

But a bit more variation in our free kicks would help also.

On Saturday the ref counted out about 9 yards sprayed a line and our opponents just stepped over it another 2 ft.Ref did nothing.

Maybe a little practice of drinking over to close wall with diagonal runs behind would bring some joy as there would be acres of space to exploit.

  3. Delaneys Dunky on

Please give us Villarreal. I am planning an autumn holiday. My favourite Spanish city Valencia would be perfect thanks EUFA.?

  4. In his post match interview BR seemed to indicate that more will head out tomorrow than come in. Who? Hopefully not Dembele and Boyata, although I wouldn’t put it past the counter of the beans.

    Allan, sell?

    Compper, release?

    De Vries, release?

    Kouassi, loan?

    Ralston, loan?

    Miller, loan?

    Benyu, loan?

I wold have said Christie before tonight, thought he had a very positive impact and could do a job off the bench.

Just back from the game, that will do. Look forward to the draw. Time for a glass of wine to put me to sleep. Cot time?

  6. Just in from the game. Well done to the players and Brendan and his coaching staff for qualifying for the EL group stages especially after the last week with all it’s distractions.

The first half was a bit turgid and we were a bit one paced allowing Suduva to organise and frustrate us. Wonderful free kick from Leigh for his 100th goal for the Bhoys. The Sevcos will be delighted to hear he’s scoring again.

Second half and what a joy. We stepped up the pace, took things quickly and passed more crisply. When Christie and Izzy came on they further invigorated the team. Scott Sinclair began to play with a wee bit more confidence. Callum started to look like the player we know he is. Ollie N’tcham also. Ryan Christie ran at them with pace, best men, passed accurately and was unlucky not to score. The crowd got right behind the team and we got a good result.

Boyata was great at the back. Izzy was great and dictated play down the left side of the pitch, linking well with Scott Sinclair. Feeling much better about Sunday. Our fans will be 100% behind the team and our players will be up for it.

    Some random thoughts:

Hope the transfer slams shut with our squad intact including Moussa and Dedryck.

Ryan Christie must be given more game time. He is a talent.

I hope we see Mulumbu at some point on Sunday. Ryan Jack is their main man in midfield. He picks up a lot of loose balls and passes well. If he is sniffed out of the game their effectiveness is greatly reduced.

Mikel Johnston is nowhere near ready. When Dalglish, Nicholas, Connelly, Forrest and Tierney etc all broke through they were outstanding. I have seen Mike a number of times now and he has not been outstanding once. Late in the game tonight we saw flashes of the talent that he has but, at the moment, he is too lightweight and was brushed off and blocked too easily for most of this evening. He needs to bulk up a bit. I want the best for him.

Anyway, a super night. Glad I attended. Onward to Sunday and hopefully DEMBELLITION 2! Come on Moussa, we love you. You know you want to. ??

It’s always the same, don’t strengthen from a position of strength, hit a plateau and start again.

I’m afraid that doesn’t really mean anything in the real world

As Brendan said today the reality at Celtic, with the model we have of developing players and selling them on, there’s a cycle. Sometimes, like the last two seasons where we hit a high water mark with one of our greatest managers and a squad of very good players, everything comes together and we see the fruits of it all. But it can’t last, it’s almost impossible for us to continue to beat the teams with a bigger recruitment budget to the promising younger players who turn into players who fund more again. Fine when we get into the cl, but very difficult when we don’t, both to attract and keep them. And we won’t do it every year, it’s just not realistic

Fair enough on the Big picture

But, to make tomorrow a tad more interesting … I say MD will be gone in this window. Fancy that bet? Loser pays 10 pound to Mary’s Meals?

    ?

  9. All I care about is getting the 8.Benkovic and Boyata will be great at the back.Mulumbu, superb performer last season. If Moussa stays,we will play 3 at the back.RB,not a neccessity, but would like one.

    Bring on the scum.

  10. When you are listening to the game on the radio, the most important indication if Celtic are playing well is the sound of the crowd. I have a good imagination for listening to the commentary as to what is happening on the pitch. But the noise tells you a lot about the intensity and passion in the playing.

If we can’t sign local players, who want to join, who support the club, who the manager wants and thought we’d sign after he spoke to him, then we can’t even compete in our own ‘real world’.

We can’t even sell the players we develop and get the cash in as we are unable to identify/sign replacements. Boyata should have been gone weeks ago, his replacement should have been signed before the season began. We knew there was always a chance Dembele would go this window, we should have had a replacement lined up and not be scrambling about at the events hour. We are not even good anymore at what our own trumpeted transfer policy. In fairness that’s easily solved if you remove the one ego.

    Howdy,bud.

Celtic lightened the load a bit for you tonight. For all the different ways people on here can show their joy in being Celtic supporters,it’s what we are.

    Which is nice…

  13. Huns appear to be celebrating the fact Moussa is STAYING. Something to do with money apparently. What a strange bunch.

  14. Not long in from the game. First half was a bit like Sunday’s game v Accies. Much better 2nd half. I liked the look of Christie when he came on, he changed the dynamics of the game. I hate to say this but I thought Sinclair looked like the player we bought 2 years ago after KT went off.

Anyhoos good to see Malorbhoy (aye right), BRTH, Kikinthenakas, Hebcelt, 67_Heaven, Bigrailroadblues and TOHG tonight.

A special big thank you to BRTH who went out of his way to give me a lift home tonight. A bit premature but there was suggestion of chartering a Jet to Azerbaijan for the final ?.

    ……………….

    Oh dear.

  17. Not long home. Job done, excellent goal from the Griff , and a second half where we looked like our old selves from the past 2 seasons.

Hopefully the players gain some confidence from another clean sheet and hitting the target more often. Can we please keep Boyata and the 3 French musketeers in some secluded place without a mobile signal and little contact with the outside world for the next 24 hours

Darkest rural Ayrshire would be perfect.

Great to bump into a healthy looking Eurochamps 67 outside the park tonight. Alex didn’t seem to let the transfer dealings or lack of them affect his mood . Perspective.

The 4 poster is calling. Sleep well Timland .

Ps . VFR . Any spare seats at the Duke st meeting place for pre match tension refreshments ?

I will look back in tomorrow , no problem with a knock back. HH

  21. BCW it’s still standing the test of time!

POG that makes 3 or 4 if your lad is coming.

  22. Bobby, I’m glad you said that. The transfer window time is always disturbing. Even if we signed wee Messi! I’ll be happy to see the back of it and get back to just thinking about Celtic as a team. I suspected you were feeling a bit pissed off with things recently. Please don’t. It’s still Celtic. Peter Lawwell, Dermott Desmond will pass on. Celtic will be there for a lot longer.

PL & DD want a hotel as a legacy. How pathetic. But understandable if your main motivation is commerce and money.

  23. If there is an agreement with Moussa and his agent that should Celtic’s valuation of him be met, and the player wants to join that club making the bid, the agreement shouldn’t be broken because Celtic cannot do their job properly and have a replacement lined up, even at a late stage of a transfer window. Our whole transfer policy is based on showcasing and developing talent to sell on, if we block transfers which meet agreed criteria then players won’t join.

  24. My guess is Boyata and MD were promised moves, that were reneged on as no replacements were brought in first….

  25. From celticnation67

People should back the men who back Celtic and not those who are out for themselves…. Doesn’t matter who it is.

ANY player who calls Brendan Rodgers “Nothing” adds NO value to Celtic.

I’ll back the man who’s here for 10 – Moussa has let himself down badly tonight.

Aye,good spot. But I didn’t have space on my wall for posters of the board when I was a kid. And I have no space in my heart for them to this day.

Re your comment on DD is paying SG salary……you will be perceived as a MadMan on here….however…

Was pal of member of extended DD family back in the New Sevco era and he said “I bet DD is backing the other side….and he said pay serious attention to the Offshore Investments”!!
