Good luck to Kouassi, can’t imagine there will be a long line of suitors. He is contracted until 2021 so won’t be in any rush to accept a pay cut.

Fascinating how people are.
The situation is that Rodgers is holding the line on dembele and if lawwell and the board sell him then Rodgers walks.
Rodgers is trying to build a team. The board only see money.
The board and CQN have in recent weeks been trying to undermine Rodgers. It’s clear they fear he holds too much sway with the support they are also trying to paint dembele as a good guy here. Hence the guff about promises etc and the news stories.
So who you gonna back. The most succesful manager since stein who is protecting the teams the board who will simply bank the money?
The equation is quite simple for Rodgers. He will walk if not supported and so he should. Why would he wreck his reputation for more numbers in a bank account and a bunch of dodgy businessmen who don’t care about Celtic the football club and are contentious of you as a support.
I think we finally see how dodgy the board is. This has completely exposed their shenanigans.
What a mess.

Dynamo Kiev

Spartak Moscow

YOUSSOUF Mulumbu has signed for Celtic on a two-year deal, and the midfielder is delighted to have made the move to the Scottish champions.
The Congolese midfielder spent last season at Kilmarnock, scoring his first goal for the club in a 1-0 win over Celtic in February, having previously enjoyed spells down south with West Brom and Norwich City.
And having put pen to paper on the deal, the 31-year-old can’t wait to start training with his new team-mates.
Speaking to the official Celtic website, he said: “I walked on to the pitch when I signed and it felt amazing. These are the reasons we play football.
“My immediate focus is to stay fit and ready and be 100 per cent ready. I’ve played at Celtic Park as the opposition and it’s a special place to play, so I’m looking forward to being part of the team and playing there.
“I cannot describe how amazing this day is for me, but it’s one step to the other. I have signed but now I must work hard to play.
“The first goal for me is to show to the manager that I’m ready. Anytime he needs me I will respond on the pitch. I know the game and what is expected of me so I’m going to be ready when the gaffer needs me.
“This is what you work for as a footballer. To play in a big team like Celtic is just amazing. I always work very hard and I want to help the young lads here. We have so much to achieve. We need to do well in the Europa League, retain all the domestic trophies and continue winning the Glasgow derbies. It’s amazing to be part of that.”
Sounds as of he is ready and able

Big Wavy – Aberdeen loaned him out and he’s done the rounds with St Mirren and Morton. Didn’t have great numbers although did score two goals on his debut for Scotland U21s in 2015.
But since arriving at Ayr he has been on fire, scoring some absolute peaches and was the PFA Scotland Players’ Player of the Year last season. I saw him a couple of times when I was last at home in Troon. Looked the part. I thought newco would snap him up to be honest as he’d be cheap and has bags of confidence at the moment.
Once upon a time we bought players from lower Scottish divisions that did ok, it wasn’t always about buying foreign projects or loanees from the EPL :)

Great sound bite from Mulumbu.
Guy is a warrior and focused. Wonder if he is near match fitness ? Anyone read about his application since leaving Kilmarnock ? Has he trained with some other club during pre-season ?
This is just my opinion but he showed in our matches last season he wanted to put on a show. I like that self pride and self motivation.
It has been confidently predicted that Brendan will walk.
NegAnon feels today that, if Dembele is sold, BR walks- so he could be gone today.
Other posters have asserted he will go when the window closes and recruitment has not been good enough.
Others have stated that, regardless of today, he will walk at the ned of the season.
Others feel, he will stay for 10iar and then walk.
Can we have a vote among those with such powers of foresight to agree on when the day of judgement is to be?
I don’t want to be climbing mountains, waiting on the rapture, if I am a day/year or decade too early for the event.

The Glorious Balance Sheet – you might be right. I was thinking he maybe just took time to knuckle down and live up to his early potential. I don’t think there is a huge gulf between Ayr and the lower half of the SPFL which made me think he could probably do a job for the likes of Dundee, Motherwell, Livingston etc.
Not suggesting he is a replacement for MD by the way, I am just curious as to why he didn’t get a move to the Premier League in the summer. Not often someone bags that many goals and doesn’t get snapped up.
