  1. 67Heaven .. CHALLENGING THE LIE ..I am wee Oscar...... Ipox belongs to the creditors on

Correct, An Dun ……all the hype is pointless since Celtic will always do what is best for Celtic, despite the barriers …..we’ve done no bad recently …..thumbs up

  2. Lyon get £33M for player then only bid €20M to replace him!

Sounds as if they are trying to get Moussa on the cheap if you ask me!

They need to match our valuation and we need to source a replacement.

If they don’t match our valuation or we cannot find a replacement, then he doesn’t go

He is getting well paid and has two years left on his contract.

He needs to start acting like a professional not a spoiled child!

  3. For fek sake just sell him, he’s no that good anyway. These modern day footballers piss me off. They make more in a week that me and the wife get in pensions combined in a year. Greedy Barstewards. I get more and more disinterested in football as the years roll on. It’s all about money, pride and loyalty right oot the windie.

  4. In the future Celtic should consider inserting buy out clauses into contracts. It will prevent Clubs unsettling our players while trying to get them on the cheap.

Works best if you read the article in the voice of Rene from Allo Allo. HH

  6. Does anybody actually believe that shite in that BR told MD that Brighton and the Baggies were bigger than Celtic? Must think our heads button up the back ffs.

2 days ago we had accepted £22.5m (€25m) for MD now it hasn’t even reached €20m.

Too many on here and elsewhere prepared to accept this guff as the truth.

  7. Goodbye Moussa and thanks for all the memories.

At times Moussa looked like a world beater with a deadly combination of pace, strength and accuracy. At other times he clearly decided he didn’t fancy giving it 100%, and sadly too often he found himself out of action due to injuries.

I’ve lived long enough to see far better players the Moussa come and go. I couldn’t care less about the who said what and who’s to blame Twitter spat. He’s making it clear he wants to move, so don’t let the door hit you on your backside Moussa.

As for blaming the Board or Brendan. I’ve no idea what goes on behind the scenes, but it’s hard to be critical of all parties involved when they are trying to strike a balance between retaining the best players we can find, and creating a platform that allows players to develop in Scotland, then move on to better things. In that equation there will always be a point of tension when the competing objectives come up against each other.

If there is criticism to be made, you could look at Celtic always playing the last minute game in the transfer market. But even there, sadly we are not a club who can make such compelling offers that players or selling clubs won’t wait to see what other options exist.

So all I know is, no matter what today tomorrow or any other day brings, I’ll still be supporting the club my Dad told me about over 50 years ago and that I tell my sons about every day.

  8. I’m beginning to doubt all I am told with certainty on CQN.

Does PL make the final decisions and undermine Brendan at all turns?

or Does BR make the Final decisions and undermine PL all the time?

The situation arising from Mousssa’s tweets does not support either of these interpretations despite the vehemence with which they are advanced.

Why are posters still asserting they know for sure that one fact is right?

  9. congratulations Join the club Leigh Griffiths

  10. PL’s man in the media reporting that Lyon have offered £15m up front and £5m add ons.

Celtic should tell Lyon, Moussa and his agent, £20m as an up front fee, plus negotiate a sell on.

They meet that by this afternoon then bye bye Moussa and spend some of the cash on the next young (3rd choice) striker and RB to keep the manager happy. Eddy and Griff to be the main strikers

  11. Pog,

In the interests of decency, no pictures please. ?

I believe everything i read on these pages. Same as all the ‘news’papers.

  12. SFTB

It’s a known fact that the majority of posters on blogs post opinions, thoughts, taxi drivers etc as fact.

My first fact of the day duly posted on CQN.

    C’MON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. re: Moussa Dembele

Celtic have nailed themselves to the buy low sell high philosophy and have sold the club to young players on the basis of that. If clubs come in and a player wants to leave then Celtic should acquiesce as that’s why we’re buying in the market in the first place.

We buy there because we’re looking for hungry players who want to move to better things after a couple of years.

Dembele has in the past shown maturity in not accepting the first big cash move that comes available but if he sees a club he wants to move to then he obviously thinks its time to move, we shouldn’t stand in his way especially as we’re making decent money. Good for him and us.

  14. Regardless of who we draw in the Europa League I’m Hoping tbat our custodians try to recover some of the recently lost PR and pitch the games appropriately. I’d suggest a fair price would be £75 for the 3 game package and £29 for individual games. Be interesting to see what our other Scottish representatives charge. We should look to announce first and set the standard, avoiding any suggestion of copying what they do.

  15. Word of The Day (…….but who does it refer to?)

    recreant

    adjective

    1. cowardly or craven.

    2. unfaithful, disloyal, or traitorous.

    noun

    3. a disloyal or cowardly person

    4. an apostate, traitor, or renegade.

Derived Forms recreance or recreancy, noun; recreantly, adverb

Word Origin and History for recreant

    adj.

c.1300, “confessing oneself to be overcome or vanquished,” from Old French recreant “defeated, vanquished, yielding, giving; weak, exhausted; cowardly,” present participle adjective from recroire “to yield in a trial by combat, surrender allegiance,” literally “believe again;” perhaps on notion of “take back one’s pledge, yield one’s cause,” from re- “again, back” (see re-) + croire “entrust, believe,” from Latin credere (see credo).

Non sufficit … nisi dicat illud verbum odiosum, quod recreantus sit. [Bracton, c.1260]

Meaning “cowardly” in English is from late 14c. Meaning “unfaithful to duty” is from 1640s.

    n.

“one who yields in combat, one who begs for mercy, one who admits defeat,” early 15c., hence “coward, faint-hearted wretch;” from recreant (adj.) and from Old French recreant as a noun, “one who acknowledgesdefeat, a craven, coward, renegade, traitor, wretch.” In English, sense of “apostate, deserter, villain” is from1560s.

The new site looks good. Hopefully, it will go onto great things. Just remember … no NDA’s and you should be fine.

Although, if I may suggest one rule … the first person who uses the term bedwetter or snowflake gets 50 lashes. That will scare the rest of them into behaving.

  17. Jobo Baldie – I can’ see newco needing to do special offers for their tickets. No need too. They will sell out all of their games without any trouble. They are on a huge high at the moment and will back their club to the hilt.

The club knows that and needs the revenue.

Hope your holiday in Javea is going well. In another couple of weeks it will quieten down considerably as the schools will all be back in.

  18. Goodbye Eboue Kouassi ????

Ah no. Expected so much from the fella but not to be it seems.

    Pity.

  19. Hearing we are interested in Leicester RB Danny Simpson…..

    ———–

Noooooo. A scumbag in the John Flanagan mould. Hope not.

  20. We now have 35 first team players.

    Ridiculous.

Hopefully a few taxis ordered today.

  21. The solution to the Dembele impasse is fairly simple: Lyon €30M from Real Madrid so give it to us up front if they really want him.

Gives BR significant funds to buy a suitable replacement before the deadline. There will be some available who we could buy with hefty wedge in our pocket.

  22. I don’t suppose anyone knows what Mulumbu has being doing since May? Assuming he has had no pre-season training with any club. Staying fit is one thing but he is going to be weeks away from match fitness / sharpness.
