Champions League day is here!

264

Champions League day is here!!  Our season has never before started in a stadium in Reykjavik which holds less than 3,000 people but, on paper, it is the perfect venue.  Should Celtic qualify for the group stages, there will be greater challenges, and when they come, we will be grateful for these competitive games.

Cameras will focus on Ronny Deila before kick-off.  I am beside myself with anticipation to see how his team plays, but it will be a while before we get a true picture of that.  Tonight we’ll see Neil Lennon’s team, inspired by little more than encouragement from Ronny and John Collins.

A win and a clean sheet, please, Celtic.

agree with the point regarding entertainment – it’s in the club’s DNA, I’d also like us to play more of the younger players.

  16. Could be 4-2-3-1, a 4-3-3 or a 3-4-3 formation with those players picked. Interesting. Happy for McGregor and delighted RD has given one of our own youngsters a chance.

I don’t see how Griffiths can be left out. McGregor playing is a tad surprising but with this opposition it’s a good time to see what some of the young lads can do. Delighted to see him get a chance. Hopefully see more of the young Bhoys this season.

Think of that bigoted bully swaggering around the playground acting the thug because he knows the big boys are behind him. Somebody gives him a burst nose and he is suddenly the whining victim.

Anyway, enough of those losers. Into the Deila era we go! Mon the hoopy Hoops tonight!

Pleased McGregor’s getting a start. Surprised Pukki and Bo Derk aren’t! Interesting…..

Great post, mate. It’s quite depressing that a section of our society can vent such bile so openly without being challenged.

The hordes cannot argue the facts. In fact, it’s a source of pride that they refuse to acknowledge the facts.

They seem to think it’s acceptable to abuse/threaten someone simply because he/she has a different point of view.

If our political leaders, be they London or Edinburgh based, continue to act like ostriches on this, there WILL be “civil disorder.” Our club’s leaders also cannot sit on the fence forever in the face of the hordes’ increasing hysteria.

BTW, jimbo, there is one Rangers fan on the TSFM site who has eventually come out forcefully against his club’s tax avoidance, cheating ways. He is the exception that proves your rule. He had better have a strong tin hat.

An unfortunate consequence of the approach Celtic have adopted is folk do not have enough information to reach a more accurate judgement of how it is going or how it will go. That is the price of getting satisfaction.

Had Celtic not wanted the Res to stay alive they only had to vote against it and, given the reason that subsequently came out, that they had written to the SFA and received an answer they could not dispute, they could easily have done so.

The fact that they did not vote against the Res more than suggests that something emerged to make them stay their hand to be sure that if they did vote against the Resolution they were right to do so.

This was not burying anything, it was following the best course in Celtic’s and shareholders’ best interests at that time.

Celtic might still maintain their position after enquiries now made and vote against but that will because they can demonstrate to shareholders they are right to do so.

On the other hand they might find they are no longer satisfied with what the SFA told them and will act on that basis in order to satisfy shareholders.

A response from the SFA is awaited.

Should be interesting when it comes.
