Change underway at SFA, Irish Voice launch

650

Some of the reaction to Peter Lawwell’s promotion to the top table of the bowling club yesterday was thoroughly entertaining, including some from our own side.  As a rule, I’m happy to germinate nonsense which distracts potential opponents from applying logical analysis to their world, so now THE EVIDENCE is all there!!

The SFA badly need higher calibre board members and, despite some generous assessments (from all sides), Celtic’s influence over the Association has been akin to pushing water up a marble staircase.  The only genuine solutions to Scottish football’s problems will be to the benefit of all clubs, not just the main income generator.  This is the challenge Peter Lawwell should set himself.  By delivering well-funded, competitive football for all, he will best look after the interests of Celtic.  Big changes all round are required.

I was accustomed today by a suggestion that Celtic were about to announce debts of over £30m after investing in some underperforming bonds!  Fortunately the story teller is listening to the wrong people and this is complete fantasy.  At least this nonsense keeps people from reading the accounts and asking by our board blow so much cash on amortisation each year instead of buying players.

Shout out to the newly launched Irish Voice newspaper, issue one of which is now out.  Focussed on “Bringing you all the news from the Irish in Scotland” it’s a really impressive read – and it’s free!  Check it out online here and look out for the paper copy.

Man City have apparently bought a franchise that will allow them to participate in the MLA. Given our supporter base and potential to tap into that market in the USA surely Peter Lawwell should be looking into this. In terms of available franchises for the MLA I think Boston is up for grabs. Thoughts?

Foxy, sounds good in theory but I would much rather Big Pete concentrated for the minute on the Celtic franchise based in Scotland!

One of the worst things Big Jock ever said imo, was to stick the ball in the net more than the opposition to render the referees an irrelevance, or words to that effect.

It should never have been that way, it was, and that was his answer, cos he knew that there was no other way.

I probably aged twice as fast as I should have the past 15 or so years, due to them and their cheating, I know it shouldn’t have bothered me, but it did.

The money on offer as you say will show their hand, as has been seen, sort the referees, that takes away all their power.

The SNP Government used the so-called Shame Game to introduce legislation that they thought would win them more votes by targeting a minority demographic.

The police used the Shame Game to gain more budget – which they have used to target a minority demographic.

COPFS have lost the historic data relating to the kind of sectarian offences that the minority demographic are most impacted by and therefore have no way of measuring the effect of the new legislation.

    Summit?

    Aye. There’s summit wrang somewhere.

Problem is they won’t give up on their power.

Little by little it’s being eroded, bit by bit they are losing their stranglehold, it will come one day, sadly I won’t be around to see it, my kids won’t either, but I have hope that my grandweans will, maybes around the time their grandweans are Celtic supporters .

we`re on the same page , as they say nowadays. I am embarassed as to how much it used to hurt me. I have other more pressing priorities now and they take precedence, however I can forgive but will never forget.

The great thing is to ask yourself , “where did it get them?” The answer is such sweet revenge and brings me no end of comfort. Off to bed now, happy that I never will be , and never have been outside of the Celtic family.

    Hail! Hail!

  12. one last comment….I am working down in Engurland and it appears that some guy has just told them all that the game is up in the EPL and that it`s all the fault of wealthy foreigners and it`s not fair `cos they want to be world champions all the time???

Their blind arrogance and unwillingness to see the buck naked emperor is a perfect mirror image of the Orcs in the last 10 years.

    Shame…………heh,heh.

  13. NexGen series — Great idea.

Apart from the afternoon kick-offs and the lack of a reserve stadium in the East End.

Who wants to travel to Greenock / Livingston?

And why 2pm — the time seems to have been chosen to keep people away.

More evidence that PL would not know a growth agenda if it came up and bit him.

Nice try, but, for the pun Green Ink Brigade (all capitalized) is a pun of both the green ink brigade (those who write angry letters to newspapers) AND the Green Brigade (our fans).

For it to be a wholly innocent reference to the newspaper letter writers, you would need to believe that Roseanne Cunningham, our Minister for Community Safety, with a special remit to tackle “sectarianism” is completely unaware of the fan section which her special police chums have been discriminating against.

Was this excuse put out on SNP e-mail?

Livingston is 20 minutes from Edinburgh – so I’d be happy to travel there since my usual travel to see Celtic is much longer.

Do you want someone to carry you there in a shawl?

Lennoxtown for the training ground was bad enough.

Now it is either Greenock or Livingston for the widely anticipated NexGen series.

You have to ask why not Murray Park?

It must be the only place in WCS likely to draw a smaller crowd.
