Commons touch and experience needed

I was pleased Ronny Deila fronted up for the press conference yesterday. He didn’t say anything particularly revealing but it was reassuring that the pressure of the last week hasn’t seen him hide from searching questions.

Mention of clear the air talks at Lennoxtown was welcome. It lets us know that the fans are not the only ones who believe the ‘air’ hasn’t been right recently. It will also, hopefully, have given anyone harbouring a grievance to get it out.

One of the manager’s biggest decisions for Sunday is who to trust in midfield. He needs players who will respond to the circumstances, and who can open what will be a packed defence. Guys who have been over the ground before, who know how to dig deep in the face of adversity, are also required. For me that means a start for Kris Commons.

  1. Neganon Agree many of us are conflicted. I admire your passion and your articulate arguments for not going to CP however I have to disagree. What would not supporting our team achieve ?

  2. Dallas,

I was at that United game you mentioned. We were destroyed but still left the ground feeling special.

United was a very very good side at the time.

You’re kidding yourself on pal, they battered Alloa that day.

Nobody is saying they are world beaters, but considering what he has spent, virtually nil, he has done a great job.

A winning team on the field solves every problem at Celtic Park.

It is the single most important criterion for punter happiness.

Not that long ago on these pages , P.L. was affectionately referred to as the ” sharp suited man ”

    Celtic had a winning team.

Sadly , most of us recognise that is no longer the case.

    Unquestionably that is Ronny`s remit.

    First fix that.

Just had a pint with two smug hun mates. yes, Morton are a league below us but to be honest there is not much of a gap now due to the mismanagement of our club.

But by fuck they’re up for it now. :((

    With MIBs, mssm

You’re not making sense, so when we’re winning Lawell gets the praise and when we’re struggling it’s the managers fault.

    What’s behind you’re Lawell fatuation?

I read somewhere that the SF draw tomorrow will go back to using numbered balls. Surely this can’t be true. Is somebody taking the juice? The numbered balls are even easier to fix.

If we get through, my bet is TRFC v Whoever at Hampden, Celtic v Whoever at Ibrox. Or maybe both at Ibrox.

    No.

There was very little criticism of Lawwell or the Board when Celtic had a winning team.

A winning team is in great measure the responsibility of the coach.

    First fix that.

    “What`s behind you`re Lawwell fatuation ? ” …………..silly.

Unless you knew the specifics of the training methods, it will be guess work re their program and if or how it’s effecting them, if at all.

It does seem to be from all the rumours that it’s the senior players that have the problem, the was something on KDS in the week about a bust up, shouting match with Broonie, he didn’t want RD’s staff to treat him, there was other stuff like if they don’t treat you you won’t play and the reply was I don’t care, I will be here longer than you etc, I am just repeating what is out there, prob all bollix, but it does join a few dots for me, we will never know for sure.

Why so many on CQN are worried about the tribute act is for me strange so the beat Dundee 4-0 if young Roberts had scored in the first few minutes on Wednesday night it would have been a totaly different game. How many points are we ahead of Dundee ? how does our goal Difference appear beside Dundees ?.Have no fear we are miles ahead of them. H.H.

No, you’re rewriting history, Lawell has been heavily criticised throughout the last 5 years, do you forget the abuse he got at murrayfield?

    Evening all

We really are in a terrible state. Remedy…. Have not a clue. A good idea would be to replace our management team with a professional one. Anyones guess where that will go.

On a more serious note, well in my head, my ST renewal is in serious doubt if this dross is to continue next season. The mob from the soo side have their tails up, my worst fears are possible. HH

That is wrong. People criticised the strategy from the minute Lawwell arrived, and MON saw the writing on the wall.

MON warned us. You think Fernandez,Lauren,et al,were bad?

    Dream. That’s what yer getting.

Lawwell is and always has been the problem. He has no knowledge whatsoever of football, yet dictates every aspect of CELTIC FC

    To,very much,our detriment.

  22. I was part of the Celts for change boycott in 94. Different times. It was pay at the gate in those days. The boycott worked then but it would make little difference now as we all have STs. Different strategy required now.

    29 August Celtic 3 – 1 St Johnstone

    4 October Hamilton Academical 1 – 2 Celtic

In the record books these two results are recorded as Celtic wins when we conceded first but according to some posters on here this isn’t possible. There are also results from this season where teams have drew level and we have went on to win but that can’t be true either can it as posters on here say we can’t do that.

    ============================================================

Saying it doesn`t make it so.

As far as I can see, the root of the problem is poor team performance .

    How can you argue otherwise?

The solution ( which some of us have been advocating for a long long time ) ,is a change of coach.

It would appear that is now very much seen as inevitable and desirable.

    First fix that.

    See how the team performs.

Then take further action at Board level if necessary and I do accept that you may well be correct in the need for that.

But,first get a consistently winning team on the park , and regretfully I think that is now impossible under Ronny.

I see you didn`t have a bite at the Solidarnosc bait .
