Commons touch and experience needed

I was pleased Ronny Deila fronted up for the press conference yesterday. He didn’t say anything particularly revealing but it was reassuring that the pressure of the last week hasn’t seen him hide from searching questions.

Mention of clear the air talks at Lennoxtown was welcome. It lets us know that the fans are not the only ones who believe the ‘air’ hasn’t been right recently. It will also, hopefully, have given anyone harbouring a grievance to get it out.

One of the manager’s biggest decisions for Sunday is who to trust in midfield. He needs players who will respond to the circumstances, and who can open what will be a packed defence. Guys who have been over the ground before, who know how to dig deep in the face of adversity, are also required. For me that means a start for Kris Commons.

  1. Tontine Tim,

It is common knowledge that Lawwell wanted Lenny out. Lenny also needed to escape Glasgow for his own good. A settlement was reached which included Lennys silence. When you consider what Lenny and his family went thru can you blame him for leaving ?

Trust me, PL rules Celtic with an iron rod. The rest of the board simply adhere to his orders.

Though it’s worth noting that DD is obviously happy with how PL is operating.

    I do trust you.

    I just think you`re mistaken

Do you think that some seriously high corporate fliers just ” take orders.”

    Again.

    Implausible.

D.D. I know nothing about.I get the impression that he`s the “absentee landlord.”

Then again, maybe he has earned that right.

I pray that Ronny wins the double, this is the most important for me, funnily enough more for my Celtic supporting friends and family than the Kenny Miller & co mob

If the rest of the board have the power you believe why are they paid a pittance in relation to PL?

Hamiltontim, I enjoyed the meeting even though no politics were mentioned. Lol.

Anyone who has preconceived ideas about the Trust ‘s motives would have been disappointed especially when the chairperson,Joe , said ‘ we don’t want a fan on the board’ .

I was unpleasantly surprised at the lack of influence ordinary fans with shares have which backs up your earlier post about Peter Lawwell’s ability manage the business as he does.

If you believe that the board do whatever you believe they do, care to enlighten us as to what they actually do, other than attending board meetings and collecting their expenses, serious question, and it should be hard ?

Gerry, I was in Coatbridge last night and this morning.

My wife’s pal’s sister passed away and we were at the body going into the church last night and the funeral this morning. It was at St Mary’s in Whifflet.

After the requiem mass, we had the misfortune to see a sev bus leaving from that Carson’s joint.

  12. So,because the Huns beat Dundee 4 0 today, and we could only draw with them on Wednesday, according to some trumpets on here, that makes the Huns a great team, and us,crap.Infantile nonsense. The level of comment on here now is going from the hysterical to the fekin ridiculous.Do any of these idiots ever think about what they write?.

I see a few new names on now joining in the feeding frenzy.I am not the biggest fan of the manager, but WTF is he supposed to do,when he puts players onto the park and they play well, then the next game they look as if they have never seen a ball before. He puts his faith in them, and they let him down, week after week. The players need a good kick up the arse for their performances, just as the manager does, but the Prima Donnas get away with it.I will tell you whats worse than both this season. The so called”Fans”.Fans my arse.Spoilt,whingeing,brats.There are clubs all over Britain whos fans have never seen them win anything, yet they are there every week.Watch a Crystal Palace game and see what supporting your team really is.

TGFITW,aye right, only when we are winning, even then its not enough.

It certainly puts the sword to a certain posters constant posts about us wanting a CT member on the board, that would cause more hassle than being of any value.

We hear many cases of supporters and staff having issues with PL in particular, however, it wouldn’t be prudent or right to compromise them by divulging details on a public forum.

  18. Clashcitybhoy on

    HT,

    Hope you are good

Re your comments on PL running the club.

You are right, but he does so at the behest of the board, which in reality is DD.

The rest of the board fall broadly IMHO, into two camps

    1) Long standing members who like the blazer, the cash and the freebies (£25 k a year may not seem a lot, but for attending 5/6 board meetings & freebies to home & away games, is decent)

    2) Serious big hitters like Ian Livingston, who realize the chances of changing anything are zilch, and disappear at first opportunity.

There are then a few others, who sit on the board of subsidiaries of the PlC , but are smart enough to realize DD runs the show, and beyond giving out a few player of the year trophies, their influence is zilch.

Unfortunately, much of current situation is of our own making, as DD ‘s + his cronies votes run the show , and ultimately he put up the cash when others didn’t.

You post the most rubbish on this site. I ask you to repost where any poster said Sevco were a great team. If you can’t, I suggest you stop exaggerating and actually read the posts. It’s not a posters fault if you are misinterpreting them.

Sorry to hear your good lady’s friends sister, St Mary’s is Lennybhoys domain, Carsons is the one boozer I have never entered in ML5, they used to be lucky to fill a Hackney to go to games, they must be confident these days………..

As you know I listen to Clyde (doing my ironing) Tony Roper was on it today and Slug Keevins asked him about missing the old firm games…… Tony replied “naw” Keevins was stumped, seemingly if you are a Celtic fan and miss those games you are a liar……unless you are Jamise Cotter

  23. Dallas,

    Indeed.

I read the testimony of the cop who’ shot dead unarmed IRA Volunteer Pearse Jordan.

He said he didn’t regret killing him, his only regret was the ceasefire.

This was supposedly a policeman serving the community, who missed the action.

The RUC was never a police service but rather a Unionist Paramilitary Force.

Recruited more people to the IRA than you can imagine.

Neganon is right. The only way to change this Old Firm Corruption and Irish billionaire golfing aficionados hobby is to deprive them of their only life blood. Money. These days I offer morale support only. As for Tims who cant wait to play Glasgow Rangers again. Scum. Green huns. Hopefully tomorrow Celtic win avoid the huns in the draw and move on. Unless of course many CQN Green huns are paid a dying wage by PL as official Parkheed shite-scooper-uppers and plastic seat repairmen.
