Commons touch and experience needed

1348

I was pleased Ronny Deila fronted up for the press conference yesterday. He didn’t say anything particularly revealing but it was reassuring that the pressure of the last week hasn’t seen him hide from searching questions.

Mention of clear the air talks at Lennoxtown was welcome. It lets us know that the fans are not the only ones who believe the ‘air’ hasn’t been right recently. It will also, hopefully, have given anyone harbouring a grievance to get it out.

One of the manager’s biggest decisions for Sunday is who to trust in midfield. He needs players who will respond to the circumstances, and who can open what will be a packed defence. Guys who have been over the ground before, who know how to dig deep in the face of adversity, are also required. For me that means a start for Kris Commons.

    And if you believe that.

    Try this one.

Karl Marx and the Duke of Wellington live downstairs from me, and when they are drunk, you can hear the singing the Sash:)

    God bless ye brave Celt.

    EL – True enough.

TGM – Trying to get a brief for the Dublin hootanney, maybe not sensible due to making some disparaging remarks about Dublin as well fs. ;)

  5. This is Morton’s Cup Final today.

And Duffy will know his team can kick us up and down the park today.

Plus Collum has something to prove to his paymasters.

We might need to score 6 to get 3 and win with 10 men.

  6. The Green Man,

All these years, I thought Arthur with the snazzy line in headgear lived in Royal Exchange Square.

  7. Is Denny Johnstone a former Celtic starlet, the future is great, what a talent, we are in safe hands,

he will be a Celtic legend.

Or did he end up like the rest of them?

16 Roads…Stood knee deep in many a hole at 6 am, if you will pardon my French:)

GreenPinata: Its one thing to have a statue in town dedicated to Wellington…Fair enough.

But quite a different story when he is haunting Maryhill. and singing naughty songs with Karl Marx.

    Not Acceptable:)

  10. Just back in and read back a few pages, good fierce banter going on..

Ernie Lynch , I really get the Francis Bacon quote, as for the football? I think a few of the old gang will be supping at the well for the last time, I see that our leader on CQN has his wish with the unwarranted, in my opinion, return of Commons. As for the inclusion of Johansen, heaven help us if he is the answer.

I expect Commons and Johansen will score today.

  11. Philbhoy,

    Good point.

What’s the odds on a Celtic sending off today?

    And a debatable handball incident/tackle?

Speaking as a non+bettimg man, is there any way of us layimg loads of bets on the possibility of incdents against Celtic like penalties sending offs and so making these u unprofitable bets? Honestly, if this happened and these became unattractive, I have a feeling this would have an effect on referees’ behaviour.

Not that I think referees, having the power to influence/control the way a match goes, would ever use that powr for anyone to gain financially.

  12. I wonder why JF has been named in this squad. Yesterday’s almost man on his way out.

  13. 16 Roads, Yes you have been on the list for months. Let us know where you are staying etc.

    Off to watch the game.

  14. Just had a quick look at the TV schedule and discovered that the game isn’t on the council telly.

I’ll have to listen to BBC The Rangers, instead.

    Not a good start.
