Commons touch and experience needed

I was pleased Ronny Deila fronted up for the press conference yesterday. He didn’t say anything particularly revealing but it was reassuring that the pressure of the last week hasn’t seen him hide from searching questions.

Mention of clear the air talks at Lennoxtown was welcome. It lets us know that the fans are not the only ones who believe the ‘air’ hasn’t been right recently. It will also, hopefully, have given anyone harbouring a grievance to get it out.

One of the manager’s biggest decisions for Sunday is who to trust in midfield. He needs players who will respond to the circumstances, and who can open what will be a packed defence. Guys who have been over the ground before, who know how to dig deep in the face of adversity, are also required. For me that means a start for Kris Commons.

    Timbhoy3 – Indeed.

    If anyone is to blame it’s the lazy mercenaries on the pitch and the incompetents in the boardroom – not the manager.

    Can’t speak for wee Jay Beatty, but a dare say that the wee legend is supporting Ronny Delia to the hilt.

    It wouldn’t surprise me if the magnificent Celtic support rallied to the cause the mara.

    I was thinking of the grim reaper but if your up for the gig you batter in mate … but make sure it’s long slow and very painful for both those Bassas

    If the Board sit, and the largest share holder is absent, are they trying to second guess him, are they unwilling to see new strategy/policy implemented? Strategies/policy that may innovate?

    Our largest share holder may attend every Board meeting, in honesty I don’t know, haven’t seen him at many games though.

    Just a thought.

  5. Its midnight, and I’ve had a few wee sherries and have been thinkin..

    We kid ourselves on we have a ‘huge’ support.. We are lucky to have 10,000 genuine supporters.. the rest turn up to boo and call Radio Shyte and say how bad we are. (proof? Check Sundays attendance v Morton).

    How many will actively seek Fair Play For All when the cheating shite returns next season and are endorsed by the Masonic SFA?? Answer, Very Very Very few.

    How many support the Club because of its foundation?? (or even know the history), and are prepared to continue to support it.. Answer, Very Very Very few.

    How many buy or read the daily Hun? Thousands.. How many tune into the Keevens and Johnstone Hun supporters radio show? Thousands.

    Conclusion… We have a majority of quiters and turncoats.. parasites when we win, and traitors to the enemy when we lose.. with neither the conviction of the Clubs ethos or the ability to stand up for the Club when we fail to win on the park. They sing about, “We’ll support you ever more….” and steal the Fields of Athenry, Grace Gifford, The Town I Loved So Well and others, yet run to the MSN with stories of infighting and disharmony.

    Question…… Name me other Clubs who are so quick to betray their own or stab their fellow ‘supporters’ in the back.

    I’ll be in my seat tmorra, hoping for a win, but most importantly, supporting mt Club.

  6. Well that is my bhoys mates up for the Conor mc Gregor fight, I won’t last that long, so told them to keep the noise down:)

    Sipsini – 4 and a half hours to go til the McGregor show.

    Our footballers should watch that legend and learn all about how to compete.

  11. Saint Stivs says SACK THE BOARD on

    DOC on 5TH MARCH 2016 11:53 PM

    TET, I have both defended and criticised the Board, and will continue in that vein, call it as I see it so to speak.

    The Board are doing poorly, it’s the lack of communication with, and lack of support of the customer base(Tims).

    I am struggling to get to games right now, work is demanding, and lots of time on the road means time at home is precious, but if I’m being totally honest, I’d make more effort to get to more games, if the football and engagement was better, Mrs Doc is a Tim too.

    We should have heard something about Sevco when they are formed, we should have heard about Res.12, not detail, just it’s being explore, the attacks on fans, by the Board, being told to behave ourselves, at an AGM for share holders, twice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    It’s dividing us, not uniting us.

    There are problems and those in control do not seem to have any answers.

  15. Hard reading back on the blog today.

    Just to say I, for one, am confident we will beat Morton tomorrow.

    I am also confident we will recover from the inept Dundee performance and win the league.

    After that, it is anyone;s guess what will happen but I will celebrate our SC win and the league win when it comes.

    Sometimes you just need a little joy in your life:-

    Listen to some Motown

    Watch a movie with the Marx Brothers, the Minions, Harold Lloyd or Carole Lombard.

    Or just go and see the glorious Glasgow Celtic football team.

    These things work for me.

    As you know , his physical absence doesn`t mean he is out of the loop.

    Hopefully he is involved in all major decision making , in fact it is possible that he is responsible for Ronny`s continuing employment.

    I don`t.

    ……..the following is C&P from JJsite, by a poster called “Robert D Bruce”………

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    It is a well established fact that Rangers are the “establishment” club. Being the establishment club means that the establishment look out for their well being.
    The establishment can count among their number, government ministers, judges, court officials, QC’s, solicitors, police, accountants, newspaper proprietors, newspaper editors, news journalists, the BBC, STV and media broadly, The SFA, SPFL, referees …………… need I go on.
    Most facets of the “establishment” in Scotland are controlled and administered from an address in George Street in Edinburgh.
    Many people who are not listed among the “establishment” above owe their livelihoods and lifestyle to their affiliation to and the edicts of George Street and are compromised by their relationships established therefrom.
    Is it any wonder that the situation regarding Rangers is compromised, stymied and procrastinated over. Is it any wonder that the blindingly obvious is ignored, that prosecutions fail, that charges are deserted, evidence is incomplete or incompetent. Does it amaze anyone that when the blindingly obvious is laid bare in its simplest form that people ignore it, reject it, hide from it and generally close ranks to avoid it.
    I have wondered why a petition to eject the hierarchy of Scottish football has crashed and burned so spectacularly. While I have some issues with some of the wording of the petition the object of it must be in the interests of anyone who has the best interests of Scottish football at heart.
    Could it be that the “establishment” is so widespread and far reaching in Scottish society that to cross the Rubicon and speak out or add your name to a petition that may affect the status quo would be detrimental to your future job prospects or membership of the golf club?
    It is without doubt that there are many of the club chairmen and officials of Scottish football clubs whether from North, South, East or West of Scotland are members of the establishment administered from George Street. Irrespective of their formed opinion on all matters Rangers / SFA / SPFL they will not cross the Rubicon for fear that they will crash and burn. Which they surely would should they try.
    My hunch regarding PL and Res 12 at CFC is that he knows about the all seeing eye.
    I’ve called before for Rangers to be the bigger player in this whole situation and to do the honourable thing. Accept that the club perished and is now attempting to rebuild, admit the wrongdoings of SDM & CW regarding HMRC, admit the “imperfectly registered” constituted cheating and renounce the titles that accrued to the previous version of the club.
    Were Rangers to follow the route I have described then the SFA and SPFL would have to have a hierarchical clear out and Scottish football could again move forward.
    From Rangers standpoint an admission to the sins of the past would necessarily mean that DCK and PM would have to go, ridding the club of the pariah at the top of the marble staircase.
    Do I think any of this is possible? Frankly NO.
    The reason?
    96 George St, Edinburgh may have more that a bit part to play in all that is, and will, be going on .
    When JJ finally reveals what went on at the High Court but is restricted from revealing, I’m sure you will find a trail back from Edinburgh Old Town across Princes Street Gardens to the New Town.
