Commons touch and experience needed

1348

I was pleased Ronny Deila fronted up for the press conference yesterday. He didn’t say anything particularly revealing but it was reassuring that the pressure of the last week hasn’t seen him hide from searching questions.

Mention of clear the air talks at Lennoxtown was welcome. It lets us know that the fans are not the only ones who believe the ‘air’ hasn’t been right recently. It will also, hopefully, have given anyone harbouring a grievance to get it out.

One of the manager’s biggest decisions for Sunday is who to trust in midfield. He needs players who will respond to the circumstances, and who can open what will be a packed defence. Guys who have been over the ground before, who know how to dig deep in the face of adversity, are also required. For me that means a start for Kris Commons.

It must be ten years I’ve been reading the same things from you. The question has to be asked, if you’re so certain about the deceit at the heart of our football club why does sum total of your efforts to affect change seem to be pointing out the lies on a footbsll blog and telling people to stop attending Celtic park. Unless I’m missing something, it doesn’t really amount to much and it doesn’t appear to be working

what have you or are you going to go about it?

  2. Winning Captains

I couldn’t care less about the Huns, but you’re point is a bit like saying Lennys team that beat Barca lost to Morton, ie a one off result, proves nothing.

That is wrong. People criticised the strategy from the minute Lawwell arrived, and MON saw the writing on the wall.

MON warned us. You think Fernandez,Lauren,et al,were bad?

    That’s so wrong

Fernandez signed two years before pl became CEO and Mons slow lane comments were in 2003, before pl arrived. The strategy that Mon and find of our fans hated was in place before he came

First , I initially referred to the Board not specifically to P.L.

I believe in the collective responsibility of the Board , not of one individual.

I refuse to believe that a Board of individually high achievers would be derelict in their duty and responsibility

to our Club by giving P.L. responsibility for EVERYTHING.

That is what he is being blamed for. Everything.

Now some believe that is the case. I find that construct to be completely and utterly implausible.

To get back to the point I was making.

Give us a winning team on the park and the Board bashing will diminish.

The P.L. bashing will of course continue.

Give a dog a bad name.

    Scapegoats are good.

  8. Lawwell has the manager and chief scout reporting direct to himself. He decides whether to close a deal to buy a player or walk away. He is the one deciding which asset is sold. He is in complete control of all business and footballing matters at Celtic.

In terms of responsibility for the current decline and mess Lawwell is 90% responsible. The manager probably 5 % and players 5 %. According to a recent leader it sounded as if the fans are 100% responsible.

It’s amazing that there has never been a look below the bonnet into Lawwels failures on CQN. Well actually it’s not really surprising.

Lawwell is hiding whilst the manager is slaughtered. He appointed him and sits back and let’s him become a form of ridicule. In a way the more abuse Ronny takes the easier it is for Lawwell. He will be seen to have taken positive action when Ronny is taken out. Today we had Sutton rag doll Ronny in the media. Can you imagine the reaction of the south side club if that had been done to Sally or the Magic Hat. Like the BBC they would have been banned from Ibrox.

Lawwell sat back and did zilch during the expose of cheating. He had is acolytes spread do nothing when your enemies are making mistakes messages. He has played them all and they don’t even realise it…although deep down I suspect they do but ignore it anyway.

Ronny is the wrong guy big time. However Lawwell has hung him out to dry. The decision to replace him has been taken and Lawwell will only act when it suits his agenda. It’s corporate 101.

  9. eddieinkirkmichael on

Been out all day so haven’t read any other pages other than this. It would appear that some on here appear to be worried about the threat from the new club over in the south side because they beat Dundee today and we drew with them in mid week..

You can’t compare the 2 games for a variety of reasons. Probably the most important reason being the tactics and set up of Dundee today compared to when they played us on weds evening. Today Dundee set up to win the game, whereas against us they set up not to get beat. hey then conceded an early goal and as this was a cup tie they couldn’t then just sit back and frustrate the opposition, they had to commit men forward and look to open up the opposition.

Against us Dundee were happy to break up play and sit in till late in the game. To try and compare the results is just daft but hey it sells newspapers.

Im looking forward to tomorrows game im very interested what team Ronny will pick when you are having a sticky patch like we are you just have to play through it.The lack of atmosphere will hinder us more than Morton we need to play grafters so for me Jo Hanson is a must and I would give Izzy a run out for his attacking ability but we are struggling at right back as Lustig is only a shadow of the player that he was I would also play Mulgrew for his dig up front Griffiths and for me Commons. two wide men GMS and Roberts We need an up and at them attitude and get right into them from the off. H.H.

    ==========================================================================

Agree with most of this.I too would drop Lustig put in Efe,who takes the flack for many of Lustigs exposures trying to cover.

I would play Tierney and Izzy one at LB one in left wing back,as one goes forward the other drops back.

Pick our best players, ones with energy,as that will supercede skill most times and effectively was all the huns did today.

No half fit inclusionsi unless a run out when game secure.Rogic not ready,Forrest never at any time,Armstrong not until he devotes ALL his focus on football,Commons if attitude wrong, trying to make a point then bin,if head right consider.Allan, does he really want to be here? not impressed to date albeit limited opportunities.Christie here too soon.

Some of the happy clappers are in a right state after that Sevco result…

They horsed Dundee today without Waghorn and O’Halloran. The same Dundee that we were lucky to draw with on Wednesday.

Wake up to reality, they are a massive threat to us. The sooner someone poaches Warburton the better.

Did you read my post? If Dundee set up the same way against us they would get humped no argument. They actually thought they had a chance today so set up accordingly.

I hope we get the new club in the semi as we’ll hump them. But how sweet would it be to get them in finale and really hump them for the whole world to see.

FORMER Celtic striker Tommy Johnson, who is now Head of Recruitment at Blackburn Rovers, has confirmed the Championship side are interested in Charlie Mulgrew.

But, sevco looked good. Early goal changed the narrative. It’s amazing what a good tempo start can do.
