The momentum for a confederated regional league in Eastern Europe continues to gather pace with clubs from Belarus keen to join. With a population of around 10m, Belarus is sandwiched between Russia, Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic states, but their league has been rendered uncompetitive by the domination of Bate Borisov, who are on their way to eight-in-a-row titles.
Bate, who are now Champions League regulars, have no opportunity to progress while the rest of the league do not have the resources to compete with them. A regional league would solve all their problems.
Russian and Ukrainian clubs are aiming to have a confederated league in place by the start of 2014, with sponsors thought to be keen to step forward and underwrite whatever is necessary to smooth the way, but the Ukrainian FA suggest 2016 is a more viable date.
Scottish football stands to gain more from regionalisation than anywhere else on the planet. We need to have this debate before blindly stumbling into another Management of Decline while legislators in Minsk leave us behind!

Will Russia, the Ukraine and Belarus still enter national teams in UEFA and FIFA tournaments? Will the relative coefficiency of both clubs and national associations be affected by being part of a regional league, and to what extent? If Bate Borisov are giants in Belarus, how come their stadium has a smaller capacity than Ross County? Will Ross County be invited to the big table, or will they be grouped with the Faroes? Are the Dodgers still playing in Brooklyn?
Platini is set to follow Blatter, (the man who ruined the World Cup) with his ill thought schemes and scams, 24 teams in the Euro finals in France in 2016, and God knows how many cities involved in the 2016 finals. Or rather how many cities will bid to host a match?
Go down the Corporate route and you get Corporate solutions to football problems. Still at least we will get to play some Icelandic and Norwegian teams on a regular basis! Maybe even throw in Linfield! Cant wait!

Where do you listen to it?
I was talking to somebody today and before I moved away from Scotland I had not listened to SSB for years, now Im away and the radio here is gash I download superscoreboards for the drive to work here in Qatar.
When I run out of one of the many Celtic podcasts like CelticUnderground or the almost daily Hail Hail Media productions I tune into Clyde. Listen to them not for serious discussion but entertainment and a laugh at the non Celtic media madness and their attempts at covering for that daft wee club that died.

I listen via the TuneIn Radio App. Stations from all over the world. ssb is hilarious; hw such a programme pretends it’s impartial is the starting point: from thereon in it gets crazier. They might as well call it sevco radio.
