Confederated league gathers pace as Belarus bids to join

905

The momentum for a confederated regional league in Eastern Europe continues to gather pace with clubs from Belarus keen to join.  With a population of around 10m, Belarus is sandwiched between Russia, Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic states, but their league has been rendered uncompetitive by the domination of Bate Borisov, who are on their way to eight-in-a-row titles.

Bate, who are now Champions League regulars, have no opportunity to progress while the rest of the league do not have the resources to compete with them.  A regional league would solve all their problems.

Russian and Ukrainian clubs are aiming to have a confederated league in place by the start of 2014, with sponsors thought to be keen to step forward and underwrite whatever is necessary to smooth the way, but the Ukrainian FA suggest 2016 is a more viable date.

Scottish football stands to gain more from regionalisation than anywhere else on the planet. We need to have this debate before blindly stumbling into another Management of Decline while legislators in Minsk leave us behind!

Today is the last guaranteed posting date for CQN Annuals before Christmas, so if you haven’t ordered yet, this is your chance.

Many thanks for the tremendous support of the Annual in recent weeks.  We have shipped lots to Australia, Canada and USA, across various European and Asian countries, and to hundreds of towns and cities across Scotland, England and Ireland.  Even Ayrshire!

Last guaranteed date before Christmas. You can order the CQN Annual here!

  1. praecepta most dealers close out (square) their positions over the holiday period. Trading volumes are therefore too low to indicate real prices.

Anyone selling is likely to be offered a poor price, especially in a stock where there is not much of market.

Obviously if the Russians invade Afghanistan over Christmas, all that will change. The Americans will take the opportunity to GTF out of there and leave them to it :-) IMO.

  2. Evening CQN,

If such a thing as a spare ticket (or two!) exists for the Dundee trip on Boxing Day I’d be thrilled to make use of it (or them:))

    Miki67,

I often chuckle at your posts, seriously. Its a weird mix of caustic humour and wit, laced with a heavy dosage of anti-hun vitriol. Much the same as many posters on here but you just seem to make your point with added bite.

Good points, and I bet more than half the forecast share investors were folk like me that commited 10k and others on here. Plus the media exaggeration of that false figure, 20m false shows of interest was probably the source of the 27m quoted.

couple of thinkgs from todays discussions

the institutional share take up, I’m sure someone recently posted that every institution either had working partenrships or were owned by Octopus, another also mentioned that these institutons could be representing or being directed to purchase shares on their behalf of private investors rather than the institution taking up shares, laundered money innat know.

  10. Had a wee look at flights to Mallaga in february,(just in Case)£46 + £102 in taxes, how can they justify those taxes?.

  11. Didn’t Packie Bonner say something that sat ill with most Celtic supporters just recently? It seems to have been immediately prior to his popping up on most media outlets. Obviously he has been well briefed (as if he didn’t know already) about how to ingratiate himself with the MSM. Sad business and he has plenty of predecessors, as we all know only too well, who have only too readily filled the role….

zombies still cant get an answer.

£22.2 Million for the greatest, biggest, most world recordest of them all. £17 Million of it by INVESTMENT Companies.

The stupid zombies better look that big word up to find out what it means and then starting breeking it in fear.

  19. Prior to the original draw for the CL group stages my preferred choice would have been Man City, Dortmund and Real Madrid. I was of the opinion that seeing as we were there it would be better to play the best there was.

Now that we’ve qualified and stand poised to be pitted against the best that Europe has to offer, I’ve changed my mind somewhat.

I don’t have time to watch a lot of other football apart from Celtic but from what I have seen Real Madrid and Dortmund are two teams that we would be best avoiding.

Their pace and strength would really trouble us. Both are an entirely different proposition from Benfica or Barca.

With the exception of those mentioned I’d give us a fighting chance against any of the other contenders.

Chuck must have promised some amount of future dough to get £17 Million.

They are well and truly finished as a major club in the long term. They will be sucked dry over the coming seasons.
