Contingency party arrangements

831

Those of you with a ticket for Sunday can wish for an Aberdeen win tonight all you like, but be ready with contingency party arrangements, just in case. I know it’s six-in-a-row, I know this isn’t 1998, the towns and villages of Lanarkshire will not be adorned in green and white, but don’t switch your phone on after leaving a cinema tonight to hear than an hour earlier Celtic became Premiership champions, season 2016-17.

Winning the title without watching Celtic play is far from ideal. Winning the title away from Celtic Park has always involved more stress than I thought is absolutely necessary, but I’m as excited today as any of you will be with your match tickets in hand on Sunday morning.

In 10 hours we could be champions again! Get ready for it.

Wee Shay’s Green Army

Lennybhoy and TommyTwistsTommyTurns are looking for volunteers to distribute fliers for Wee Shay’s Green Army Raffle (which will be drawn on Thursday 25th May 2017 at Celtic Park).

They are looking for volunteers to distribute fliers advertising the raffle ahead of the Partick Thistle game at Celtic Park on 5 April. If anyone can help, please email walkwithshay@yahoo.com .

Thank you.

Enjoy yourself tonight, I have a feeling……….

Have to say, not even for a fun competition like GSF2 could i want the huns to score. Ever. :-))))))

    ———–

I’ve always assumed there were only a limited number of teams to pick and some were forced to choose the huns, if this isn’t the case and you can pick any team in the England and Scotland then a little strange that people still pick the huns

  2. In the case of the Champions and elect I’m not concerned with fitness rumours.

If the Dembele and Griffiths injury woes are more than mendacious SMSM dabbling, we’ll have a selection query that Brendan will address with Sinky or Paddy up top, and that could potentially ice the ‘buckfast ‘ till Wednesday.

It won’t won’t coz I’m in Edinburgh tomorrow, and we’re due a Hertz thumping and by the time we face the Harry Wrags, we’ll be Champions again. I reckon Calum MacGregor will slot into midfield prior to the imminent return of Rogic who’ll pick up the baton in time for the cup, and the treble, or will it be Tom tomorrow?

    Brendan quoted in The Telegraph

“Leigh did well in the Scotland game so getting the wee knock was obviously frustrating for him, but hopefully within the next week he will be back.

“Moussa won’t play at Tynecastle but he should be okay for next week. Towards the end of the Dundee game he struggled. He didn’t think it was anything afterwards but when we got the scan it showed a little tweak of his hamstring.

“He has responded well. He has been fine. He has been out on the pitch, but I am not going to risk it for the weekend.”

To make matters worse I took Aberdeen to win with both teams scoring (for real money) other two teams up and Dundee didn’t even get a consolation !!!!

I will be cheering your GFS2 pick tomorrow and be cheering every goal, and hopefully you take the lead in GFS2, along with the other 2 on the hoops

  7. Unsure – haven’t seen it confirmed – but read on another Celtic site that the 3 Sevco players were suffering from a mixture of illness, injury and general sh*tness. But, if that’s not true then a manager subbing 3 of his back 4 including his 2 most experienced players, leaving one defender on the pitch, is either utter genius or a guy who is a panic gambler.

I notice he is getting praised for this. Just wait until the press go Full Deila on him. Remember Warbiola? Aye, manager year….

There is always a “choice” some seem to choose the Sevs, by the way today was the 1st round with no team being previously selected ….. So am sure the 16 had other choices to choose from

For example…… Every other team :-)

And you get to pick any team in the top leagues of the SPL and EPL?

Unless you are throwing away your pick ie expecting the huns to get beat – you are actually picking them and hoping they win

Was there a game earlier this season when we didn’t have Moussa and Griff available?

    We won well.

Or did I dream that? Embdy?

The Sevco pickers might say they only pick them so they don’t score (aye right) or maybe they hope Sevco 6 Motherwell 7 today (aye right)

Am afraid it’s simple for me, you are picking a team who YOU think will score a few goals, YOU don’t have to cheer them on, but if they do score a few goals YOU might win the competition, am happy enough at not winning the competition as long as I never pick them :-)

3 games without Moussa…..the last of those was a 5-1 thumping for St. Johnstone up in Perth

  14. Now the question is do you put £loads of money£ on Man U drawing at home against Everton on Tuesday – 8 draws and 1 defeat at home so far this season. A smart punter will have cleaned up by now.

  17. You can only pick a team once, and there are enough teams to choose from that you won’t ever ‘have’ to pick a certain team.

You could pick a team hoping that they score a lot of goals, but still lose the game :-)

Me ? Even the thought of their filthy scum suppprt having even one goal to celebrate makes me angry. If i won the competition, and them scoring a goal contributed in any way to that win I would feel dirty, and hand the whole prize pot back to the charity. ( which i may do anyway )

Armstrong must be a good bet for a goal tomorrow, he is full of confidence and will be given license to get into the box at every opportunity to make up for the striker shortfall.

  21. Hunderbirds are Gone on

To be honest, I think Moussa was due a wee rest anyway, even if he had been fit. He had looked a bit jaded last couple of games. Pity Griff has to miss a rare chance for a start though.

Good luck to those attending tomorrow, no better place (maybe one) to see a top performance and a few goals, but take care too.

  22. Gerryfaethebrig on

Scott Sinclair will play through the middle tomorrow, fill your boots

Sinkys debut off the bench notches his first goal, will be fitting if he scores back there to win us the league, and Scott scored a fair few goals for Brendan while at Swansea as a centre forward

I think Brendan will give GMS the left wing berth tomorrow and keep paddy for the last 20mins

I watched as a group built up with loads of bags, then i see the fella who sits next to me at celtic park, Ive only got to know him this season, but shamefully i still dont know his name,

i gets out, hows it going, a quick handshake, he is there with wife and grandaughters.

Looks like I will be in the wee village (?) Chyrston area tomorrow, nephew just off the phone his wife & 2 daughters are at some dancing competition in Manchester and my brother (father & son) is picking me up around 11.45am…… Not too often we get the chance to watch the hoops together but it’s always good when the opportunity arises……..

Hope that AoW doesn’t jinx our day :-)

  26. Have now read Lenny’s thoughts and view on the carry on midweek. Give me Lenny all day every day. Spoke to Duffy 5/6 years ago about after dinner speaking. Found him to be quite arrogant, never really had an opinion on him prior to that but was really quite disappointed with his general demeanour. Safe to say never bothered booking him. Have booked Tosh McKinlay for a mixed audience, absolute gentleman exactly what I would expect from a Celtic man. Lenny has really called the Scottish media out and told them what we are all thinking. Good on him. The worm is turning slowly but surely. This tomorrow we will be CHAMPIONS yet again.
