Cough up for Killie

944

The SFA, SPL and SFL confirmed revelations yesterday that they met at Hampden on Friday evening and released a 126 word joint statement.  It claimed “all three parties have been involved in productive discussions for some time on the subject of league reconstruction”.

Be that as it may, you could put your house on the fact that there would be no talk of hastily-arranged league reconstruction in the next few weeks if there remained a possibility that SPL clubs would vote a Newco into the league at their meeting on 4 July.

Disingenuous: lacking in frankness, candour or sincerity.

There is no mention of subverting every rule in the game to ensure a team called ‘Rangers’ are positioned in as high a league system as possible.  The statement is completely disingenuous.  Having lost the battle to parachute Newco-Rangers into the SPL, Stewart Regan and Neil Doncaster have redrawn the battle lines.

Celtic supporters are the great cash cow that is expected to pay for the crimes of others.  It’s up to you if you want to Cough up for Killie (etc.).

Just arrived at a site in Plean, Stirling. Most unwelcome here, the first house you encounter has red hand of ulster & loyalist paramilitary flags outside it on poles. Lovely people i’m sure. Can’t get out quick enough, just as well i never put on the green shirt today.

    ………….

    are they at half mast?

  3. rangers heading into another legal mess. Even if you accept that the transfer of employment hasn’t happened, are whittaker and naismith really now free agents? Their employment remains with old rangers, still in administration.

If old rangers decide to try to sell them, who gets the profit of the sale? The contracts remain with old rangers, the “assets” sold to Sevco, and the registrations reverting to the SFA!

    What a mess.

ASonOfDan – Can someone explain how Green honestly thinks he would win a legal arguement over this.

I don’t think there’s anything honest about it.

He’s an impresario, a thimblerigger, a song and dance man.

There is no plan other than to sell on the new Rangers for a quick profit. Everything else is just bluster. (thumbsup)

The reason we have heard no more about hun players leaving sevco is that they all did in fact go and see their lawyers.

However, their criminal lawyers were unable to help.

    Emdy got ayellow pages?

  7. Estadio Nacional on

You would think after the previous 5087 Sevcos went bust Sevco 5088 would have thought better of starting up again. They’ll never learn.

  8. ASonOfDan @ 10:30,

Interesting they mention the debts and losses of the Second best run club in the SPL.

Who had to sell a plethora of talented young players to ensure their Club was financially sustainable.

Hope Hibs have a cracking season in 2012/13, one things for sure they might have finished second bottom in the SPL but they are going to have a better season than the team that finished second top.

  9. Have to say for the most part I agree with BarcaBhoys earlier post. BlantyreKev did a quality post on this t’uther day.

We must loose all allusions to the Old Firm mentality if we want a R@ngers free Scottish Football to succeed & prosper.

I thought I’d read that in the event of liquidation, the players contract would revert to the SFA/SPL.

Looks more and more like that by the hour never mind the day.

  12. skyisalandfill – The registrations, not the contracts of employment.

    rangers aren’t yet in liquidation.

    Morning peeps.

Not had a chance to read back through the blog but looks increasingly now that most clubs will vote no to newco……..

From the gist of Paul’s entries we are now looking at the 2 idiots supposedly charged with running Scottish football turning the entire structure on it’s head to allow newco to compete at a higher level regardless of no accounts, assurances of finance let alone a squad capable of competing. Is this an accurate summary.

Questions is do the clubs get a vote on this debacle taking place?

  14. I have a question;

How did the likes of Whyte & Green get by all those No:12’s standing shoulder to shoulder?

  15. Big Victor on SSN is quoted as saying:

“It will be difficult to leave Celtic because I have just had a good season here and we are now playing in the Champions League.

“Celtic are one of the biggest teams. I’ve been happy here, and the fans have been brilliant to me.

“But it would not be a terrible thing for me if the club agree to let me go, and they were to get a good offer. They are the ones who decide.”

    Yet the Headline is;

    WANYAMA KEEN ON ENGLAND.

Kenyan would like chance to play in Premier League

What is it with the MSM and their obsessive fantasies with trying to offload and unsettle our best players since Lenny became the manager?

    And they call us paranoid!

I think you’re right, but the SFA would need to pay the players – I haven’t heard anything to suggest they have been paid by the SFA. R*ngers (oldco) breached the players contracts by stopping paying them at the full level and I believe they could have walked away at that stage (though they don’t do walking away) – would be surprised if they don’t have insolvency clauses in modern day footballers contracts ensuring that in such event they become free agents, though I could obviously be wrong. In the current climate I’d insist on that if I was a footballer…

  19. ABERDEEN FC today confirmed they would take results of the Evening Express survey into account when voting on the Rangers newco.

Nearly 3,000 people responded to the survey with an overwhelming 82.7% against a Rangers newco in the SPL.

And a mammoth 81.2% called for the ultimate sanction of the Ibrox club starting again in the Third Division.

Whats your info on the big story tomorrow, is it genuine?

A poster got banned on RM for suggesting the same thing but the ban was more for the fact he gave his location as Rome and it was his first post. He said something is in the air which is going to completely change the landscape at Ibrox and would be in the public domain by tomorrow. Thats all he said and they banned him so it shows how worried they are…he didn’t even suggest whether it was going to be a negative or positive story(from a hun point of view) and they still banned him.
