Record correct, SFA prepare to disband Appellate Panel

1122

This morning’s article in the Daily Record is not a work of fiction.  They reported that SFA chief executive Stewart Regan’s “bid to deliver a broad consensus over the way forward also involved discussions over the appellate tribunal’s transfer embargo on Rangers.”

In short, the SFA discussed changing their rules to disband the Independent Appellate Panel process before instructing Lord Carloway to sit in response to the Court of Session’s rejection of his previous judgement.

With two further Independent Judicial Tribunals still to sit in judgement on the actions of Rangers, for the illegal registration of players and non-payment of social taxes during the EBT era, the SFA will also subvert these rules before ‘Rangers’ are expelled from the Association.

After the meeting Regan left for his summer vacation without instructing Lord Carloway to convene the Appellate Panel.

That’s not all.

The scam to establish an SLP 2 in order to allow the SFA and SPL to co-opt ‘Rangers’ into that league is what the governing bodies have planned for your game.

If rules are changed AFTER a club is found guilty and in receipt of a penalty in order to nullify that penalty the game in this country is broke, ethically and financially.  Having established independent judicial panels to deal with serious rule breaches the SFA cannot do Rangers bidding without removing all judicial oversight.

We’re back to the days of George Peat walking in and out of hearings for the Celtic manager.

Most disturbingly of all, YOU are the cash cow for this outrageous enterprise.  With Rangers gone from the SPL Celtic fans bring all the commercial and television income into the game, and are set to buy more away ground tickets than all other clubs put together.

You are expected to continue to cough up for tickets to Tynecastle, Rugby Park etc, and subscribe to ESPN and Sky Sports – money which will divvied up among SPL 1 and SPL 2 teams, as well as they rest of the Scottish Football League clubs, to compensate for them missing out on a ‘Rangers’ game.

You will also pay more money for those tickets than any other group of fans in the league.  Why don’t you just write a cheque to Kilmarnock, Falkirk or Cowdenbeath today?

This nonsense will not bring another £1 into the game, all it will do is redistribute money from your pocket to clubs who care nothing for you.  Partick Thistle yesterday released a statement on their site, “We believe Scottish football needs to be restructured, financial distribution needs to be fairer for all clubs”.

“Financial distribution needs to be fairer”!  Patrick Thistle get to keep all their ticket sales, commercial and other income.  By “fairer” they mean they want some of your money.  If you agree with them, write them a cheque, but if you disagree, you better figure out what to do next.

Thoughts that some great victory has been achieved are premature.   Prepare for the next instalment.

Our domestic competition is, at best, uninspiring.  This disgusting land-grab for your cash will destroy our ability to compete in Europe, and it’s not just the senior team who will suffer.  The Celtic youth system costs millions to operate each year, don’t fantasise that it will survive intact.

Celtic currently employ 27 Scotland youth internationals.  They are almost single-handedly carrying the future of our national team.  This attempt to bleed your club dry will devastate all areas, with subsequent consequences for the Scotland team.

It’s not often I’ve told you the Daily Record have nailed a story but this one is on the money (your money).  I’m at a loss as to what to do next.

We cannot accept this.

Any “damage” done by doing the right thing, by making newCo abide by the same rules as everyone else, would be temporary. The ship would stabilise after a couple of seasons and possibly with a new version of Rangers making their way up the leagues.

The immense damage done by bending the rules and selling the soul of Scottish football in order to accommodate a side which has cheated the rest out of millions would NEVER be undone. The heart and integrity of the game would be gone for good.

That must be what Regan and Doncaster want. Why are they even here? How did these two inept, corrupt chancers come to be running Scottish football? Running it into the ground.

    Paul67 –

This is simply not on. Surely the decision to take no action against the liquidated club for going to a civil court is not going to sit well with UEFA?

They are trying every dirty trick in the book.

  7. Philbhoy - It's just the beginning! on

That’s the most worrying thing you’ve said for a while.

“I’m at a loss as to what to do next!”

Is the game a bogey then?

  8. Eyes Wide Open on

Surely Paul67 we can legitimately seek to ply our trade in a competitive environment

The English Leagues understandably wont talk to us as we are members of another, Boys Brigade, sorry I mean ‘association’.

If we indicate our intention to seek pastures new, as Celtic in its current format can not survive due to the changes the majority want to make – then surely at that point there would be intererested ears being pressed against the walls..

  9. Paul67,

Until they are placed firmly in SFL3, where they really should be, I am not going to take anything for granted.

Keep up the pressure, and if possible, crank it up more.

The Establishment is working hard to protect the most nefarious because a divisive club is a reflection of their whole Modus Operandi.

Biggest surprise is DR getting something right.

No big surprise on rules being broken, bent & re-written to suit deadzombie fc.

  11. A depressing article

Even more so, as if the above turns out to be true, then I’ve almost certainly watched my last ever Scottish football match either in the flesh or on television

The Scottish game will forever be tainted by corruptness

  12. Paul67,

While the monies being redistributed is, obviously, a very serious matter, much more serious in my eyes are the continuing attempts by Ogilvie and Regan (aided and abetted by the “sports media”) to let thems back into Scottish Football without any penalty. This is far worse than mere corruption. Is there any way we can bring these miscreants to book?

If what you say in your article is accurate, (and I have no reason to doubt you), now is the time for a statement from Celtic.

We need to know the club’s position on all of this.

I think this may be the biggest, most arrogant mistake they make. our compatriots who support other clubs have shown the same belief in integrity we have. these men who prefer deals with the devil in smoke filled rooms to due process will annoy every fan except those of the dark side. If we can’t change things for the good then it is time to leave if we possibly can. unbelievable how these guys try to operate. sneaky, sleazy and disgusting.

The news about Alan McDonald is a shock given his age and he looked to be in good health.

I reember he was a good player in a good QPR team. Hard as nails also, as all centre halves were in those ‘pump it into the mixer’ days of the 1980’s in England.

  19. thomthethim CQN (genuine) Badge Wearer on

    Paul67,

Did you and others think that I was being glib when I offered the two options open to Celtic?

    Belfast Celtic or Derry City.

I never believed that the Scottish/British establishment would allow justice to be done in respect of that evil organisation.

All that any version of redistribution of Celtic’s money, from the fans, would prove is that Celtic are too big for the market in which they are expected to operate.

If all those clubs fear elimination, why is there no talk of amalgamation now, to meet the new situation? That would be reform.

I dearly wish that there could be some alliance of, or a single powerful shareholder, who would challenge the principle of restriction of trade.

If what you say comes to pass, then indeed the game is finished and the masonic confederacy has destroyed it.

  20. Surely UEFA/FIFA must act if the SFA are seen to be gerrymandering to this extent. This really would be the end for a lot of fans.

Our fans need to act and not fill the pockets of the cheats with our cash.

  21. We now need to ask FIFA/UEFA to step in and remove these parasites from the SFA/SPL. Send in some proper administrators who will enforce the existing rules, suspend (if they still evist) oldco/newco or Dodo FC indefinitely until all the info and facts are established. Look at the best models in Europe for league reconstruction, financial distribution of monies, television etc and after an open, honest and transparent debate we vote on it.

In short we need to do on the football front what HMRC did with BDO on the financial side. We need to sort these hillbilly charlatans out once and for all.

Can’t see how Celtic can stay silent any longer on this.

So now they are in when last week they were definitely out.

Can’t see them getting 23 of 30 votes from SFL clubs to allow this to happen.

I’m confident they will not be playing anywhere next season.

With the amount of Gerrymeandering I wouldn’t be surprised if we are shepherded into stadiums by force by the B-Specials.

The only way I can read this article is as a call from the board for a massive show of support from the CSA and the subsequent calls for a boycott next season. When we have stood back to allow justice to prevail others have conspired for Rangers’ survival despite the injustice of it all.

    Is the CSA meeting tomorrow?
