Record correct, SFA prepare to disband Appellate Panel

1122

This morning’s article in the Daily Record is not a work of fiction.  They reported that SFA chief executive Stewart Regan’s “bid to deliver a broad consensus over the way forward also involved discussions over the appellate tribunal’s transfer embargo on Rangers.”

In short, the SFA discussed changing their rules to disband the Independent Appellate Panel process before instructing Lord Carloway to sit in response to the Court of Session’s rejection of his previous judgement.

With two further Independent Judicial Tribunals still to sit in judgement on the actions of Rangers, for the illegal registration of players and non-payment of social taxes during the EBT era, the SFA will also subvert these rules before ‘Rangers’ are expelled from the Association.

After the meeting Regan left for his summer vacation without instructing Lord Carloway to convene the Appellate Panel.

That’s not all.

The scam to establish an SLP 2 in order to allow the SFA and SPL to co-opt ‘Rangers’ into that league is what the governing bodies have planned for your game.

If rules are changed AFTER a club is found guilty and in receipt of a penalty in order to nullify that penalty the game in this country is broke, ethically and financially.  Having established independent judicial panels to deal with serious rule breaches the SFA cannot do Rangers bidding without removing all judicial oversight.

We’re back to the days of George Peat walking in and out of hearings for the Celtic manager.

Most disturbingly of all, YOU are the cash cow for this outrageous enterprise.  With Rangers gone from the SPL Celtic fans bring all the commercial and television income into the game, and are set to buy more away ground tickets than all other clubs put together.

You are expected to continue to cough up for tickets to Tynecastle, Rugby Park etc, and subscribe to ESPN and Sky Sports – money which will divvied up among SPL 1 and SPL 2 teams, as well as they rest of the Scottish Football League clubs, to compensate for them missing out on a ‘Rangers’ game.

You will also pay more money for those tickets than any other group of fans in the league.  Why don’t you just write a cheque to Kilmarnock, Falkirk or Cowdenbeath today?

This nonsense will not bring another £1 into the game, all it will do is redistribute money from your pocket to clubs who care nothing for you.  Partick Thistle yesterday released a statement on their site, “We believe Scottish football needs to be restructured, financial distribution needs to be fairer for all clubs”.

“Financial distribution needs to be fairer”!  Patrick Thistle get to keep all their ticket sales, commercial and other income.  By “fairer” they mean they want some of your money.  If you agree with them, write them a cheque, but if you disagree, you better figure out what to do next.

Thoughts that some great victory has been achieved are premature.   Prepare for the next instalment.

Our domestic competition is, at best, uninspiring.  This disgusting land-grab for your cash will destroy our ability to compete in Europe, and it’s not just the senior team who will suffer.  The Celtic youth system costs millions to operate each year, don’t fantasise that it will survive intact.

Celtic currently employ 27 Scotland youth internationals.  They are almost single-handedly carrying the future of our national team.  This attempt to bleed your club dry will devastate all areas, with subsequent consequences for the Scotland team.

It’s not often I’ve told you the Daily Record have nailed a story but this one is on the money (your money).  I’m at a loss as to what to do next.

We cannot accept this.

  1. Mmmmm,

Record story reads like a load of bollocks to be blunt.

Big deal, Regan has gone on holiday, I suspect he did talk about the AT re the transfer embargo and there was possibly a discussion of when or if it should happen as the Shame are liquidated. Has there been a decision to bin th AT? Has there been an official statement?

As for the SPL2 and payments, good god! So all along the smaller clubs are being bullied into keeping the Shame in the SPL for monetary gain but wait for it , the Shame go to SPL2 ( no away gates) and then the existing Sky deal is diluted so the smaller clubs get even less money, to pay the SFL!

All of this to get sprung on an unsuspecting SPL with 5 or so weeks to go before the start of the season, this is a fantasy for the season coming.

What is being reported is as usual only a partial and partisan glimpse of the truth.

What is being proposed and discussed is an arrangement for season 2013-14 , the existing judicial processes will continue against the Shame and they will never ever play another game of professional football as R*****s at Ipox.

I really do not see what makes Regan and Doncaster do what they are doing.

One would think they were doing what they were told.

    But by whom……..and why???

I think Sky is vastly over rated anyway. It is not under hyped.

I joined Netflix last night and ok it does not have Sports but I can watch any game online.

I hope All Celtic fans and supporters of other Scottish clubs take seriously what Vladimir said about Sky.

Disconnect – even if it seems like a big step, trust me it isn’t.

I now have the highly recommended Breaking Bad series’ at my finger tips.

  4. Der hun has shown us the way

If the SFA subvert their own rules surely we can take them to court!

As far as I recall there was no punishment handed out to the huns for going to court since allegedly it was not over a footballing decision but a legal ruling

The same would apply to us as all we would be asking the court to do would be to make the SFA comply with their own rules!

As for the rest – money talks

I’m sure that we have plenty of talented people who know how to look after our interests

We should not be afraid of any challenge on or off the park

Everything in our power must be done to safeguard our future.

They know that we can call a boycott and hit them where it hurts – in their pockets, so this is an attempt to undermine our right not to attend away games and help fund other clubs by doing so.

We need a way of ring fencing our income. There are bound to be plenty of ideas around as to how that can be achieved. Time to get thinking thinking thinking big time. Time to get serious fholks.

We need a plan for the short term and one for the long term – my favourite plan is get us out of here. England? Ireland? Wales? NL?

If we ring fence our income we can retain the power of a boycott.

Ferb, I know what we’re going to do today!

If this goes through football here is finished it will end up a junior league and all because those charged with running the game wont follow their own rules and punish those who break the rules, a massive cover up by Regan and Doncaster is in progress, what do we not know?

Hope you and yours are well!

  9. I will cancel Sky Sports & ESPN if this comes to pass.

It’s not Celtic that needs to make a statement right now it’s all the supporter groups & associations that “We will not be requiring any away match tickets until further notice”

Celtic need to keep as far away from this impending implosion as possible, they would give Celtic the blame.

  10. Bom dia.

    BRASIL FITBA NEWS

Three games here in the Serie “A” today:-

    Vasco (1) v Cruzeiro (2) ko 22:30 UK time

Vasco have only lost one home game all season (in the Libertadores) and are at full strength. Cruzeiro are still trying to find the right balance of players and likely to field yet another line-up today. My mate (a Vasco fan) assures me that this’ll end up 3-1. How he thinks that I do not know!!

    HOME WIN

Portugesa (16) v Sao Paulo (6). ko 22:30 UK time

Portugesa on that slide back into relegation and are a team who struggle to rise above mediocrity, at best. Meanwhile SP were huckled out the Copa do Brasil by Coritiba midweek and will now (finally) be fully focussed on the League. Only thing that makes this not a banker away is SP Manager, Emerson Leao’s (ex Brasil WC keeper) inability to produce consistent winning teams.

    AWAY WIN

    Atletico-MG (3) v Nautico (10) ko 01:00 UK time

Ronaldinho’s home debut for the “Galo” for a team who’ve had reasonable form so far (defeat away to SP last week excepted) this season. Nautico have an unchanged line-up and are fighting to secure mid table security. So probably a narrow home win here.

    HOME WIN

Elsewhere, in the Argentina “B” League, River Plate try once more to secure promotion back to the big time in the final game of the season at home to Almirante Brown at 19:00 UK time today. Have they got the bottle to secure it this time is the question on everybody’s lips. Expect a real nervy game there.

The Libertadores and Copa do Brasil finals were sorted this week. In the Libertadores, Boca Juniors will be at home to Corinthians in the first leg of the final this coming Wednesday. In the Copa do Brasil, Palmeiras will be at home to Coritiba in the first leg, the following week.

The Seedorf to Botafogo saga drags on (Botafogo have serious financial issues and the cynic in me makes me wonder how much of this is just a “paper story”) . Apparently all the contract details are sorted except who gets the image rights. This has now delayed the “official” unveiling date of Jul 10th. Welcome to transfer buisiness Brasil style!

Mind you, Botafogo have drawn the line at offering Clarence an EBT!!!

So all clubs voted and approved the judicial review panel and now your telling us the board will rescind it, sorry cant see how this can be achieved without another vote by all clubs.

But if this is the case then the board must take the lead, IMO our only option is to sue the sfa for loss of earnings and bankrupt them.

  12. Was told about the meeting last night from a director of an SFL Club. Said The Huns were definitely in SFL 1 next season. Some punishment, eh? Biggest swindling cheating shenanigans in the history of British soccer yet they get off far too lightly, if this pans out. Disgusting.

The Scottish FA is fully committed to promoting equity. Fairness, justice, respect for each other, inclusion, addressing inequalities and removing barriers are just some of the principles of equity that influence the Scottish FA’s development, delivery and decision making.”

Didn’t bring up the football as I was not sure which side he was on, but assumed he was from the other side of the road. Not that it matters when things like this happens, but in our visits he was a gentleman. Didn’t buy the house mind you.

I don’t know the answer but it’s absurd that the period of notice required to leave should be greater than the tiem required to force through restructuring.

When a significant change takes place, clubs should be free to leave if they don’t like it. A bit like TUPE – stay if you want, go if you prefer.

Surely the all the other fans will see through this and I don’t think the lower leagues want them either. Help. HH.

Since before Admin I thought they would attempt to create a new two league set-up in order to save new Rankers from 3 years in the wilderness. However with revelation after revelation this opinion I believed became less and less likely. As it was impossible to see any moral argument to accommodate them in any way shape or form. We’ve already paid emotionally and financially for decades of cheating and cover-ups. If it comes to it we should withdraw from the association immediately. No longer should we prop up Scottish football and continue to be dumped on from above. Resign and let the whole lot die.
