COUNTDOWN FOR CCV, KUHN

0

CAMERON CARTER-VICKERS and Nicolas Kuhn are targeting special appearances against Ross County at Parkhead on Saturday.

The USA World Cup defender is aiming to play his first game of 2024 following his enforced departure with a muscular problem shortly after the interval in the 3-0 win over Dundee at Dens Park on Boxing Day.

And Kuhn, Brendan Rodgers’ £3million recruit from Rapid Vienna a week ago, got his first taste of Parkhead on match day when he watched his new side beat Buckie Thistle 5-0 in the Scottish Cup fifth round encounter on a stormey Sunday.

The 24-year-old winger was unavailable for that match, but is hoping to make his Hoops debut against the Dingwall club at the weekend.

PARADISE…Nicola Kuhn is introduced to the Celtic fans at half-time during Sunday’s 5-0 Scottish Cup win over Buckie Thistle.

Kuhn was introduced to the supporters at half-time where he had a chat with former Celtic boss Neil Lennon and admitted: “I actually want to play the second-half already.”

The pacy raider will have to be patient – and the same goes for the champions’ defensive rock Carter-Vickers.

The 26-year-old centre-back missed the 2-1 derby win over the Ibrox side on December 30 and the first game of the new year as the Hoops overcame St Mirren 3-0 in Paisley on January 2.

Rodgers took no risks with his key man against non-league opposition, but he will want to reintroduce him to his line-up against County.

The countdown starts now for stalwart Carter-Vickers and new Bhoy Kuhn with both players desperate to figure in four days’ time.
