I’m enjoying the chat as much as anyone these days but I know you all remember what were really about as a club. We have an update on the CQN Vanessa Riddle pop quiz fundraiser which will be held at Jury’s hotel, Glasgow on the evening of Saturday February 11.
The great news is that Frank O’Hagan has agreed to come along and do a set to close the quiz off. Frank’s third CD – Green Light to Freedom – will be mixed and mastered in the studio over the next month. Frank is also doing a concert with his band in the Backstage at the Green Hotel, Kinross on Saturday 18th February. Details are on Frank’s website web. Frank is a top class musician is a terrific live performer. He is also a lovely guy, so we’re just absolutely over the moon to have Frank along. Our good friends at Carling are donating some prizes too, which is also excellent news.
We have some spaces left so if you want to come along, visit Taggsybhoy’s music quiz homepage and contact him with your team name and numbers (max of 6 to a team). He will let you know if you are successful. It is first come, first served. Vanessa Riddle Appeal
I’m off to contemplate the false value of cheap laptop hard disks. One day lost and counting, damn you HP!

“Celtic would never be able to prove that if Rangers had operated as a normal club that they wouldn’t have won those titles anyway. So no I doubt they’d take it to any form of court.”
I’m not really confident enough in my own argument to debate this, so just off my own logic, is that not akin to saying that a club convicted of bribing a ref(obviously not in this country…. say Italy for example) to match fix, that there’s no way to prove they wouldn’t have won those matches anyway? Was it Juve that were stripped of their titles and handed to Inter?
So if it was proven that Rangers had an unfair advantage and were subsequently stripped of their titles by the SFA(no laughing at the back) then surely there would be case for loss of earnings? Alas it may just be wishful thinking on my part that if they attempt to get up off their knee’s we kick them straight back down again.

Delighted you enjoyed it mate and much obliged!

The problem is the club in administration loses its share. This means oldco loses control of the whole process.
If newco turn up with the same strip, players and ground, they will not be replacing oldco no matter what has happened with the old corporate structure.

“Octopus are not the secured creditor of Rangers,” he said. “I am.”
Did I read somewhere that the forms to register a security do not need to be registered within a set timescale? If so then the MBB might currently be the secured creditor but Tickitus could still hold the right to become secured creditor and they might not declared / registered this yet?

We are at crossed wires here.
I am talking about a situation (as per GS statement) re existing co coming out of admin intact. Why would existing co (without any reference to any liquidation and Newco) managing to clear its debts and come out of admin as Motherwell did lose its share and place in SPL?

Goodness me, I have the story to end all stories (if it’s true).
I am saying nothing as yet. I never do or would, without that confirming voice.
But, goodness me!
It’s worse than even they thought.

Ooo rock me Amadeus
Rock me Amadeus…
Rock rock rock rock me Amadeus
Rock me all the time to the top
He was a Punker
And he lived in the big city
It was Vienna, was Vienna
Where he did everything
He had debts, for he drank
But all the women loved him
And each one shouted:
Come on and rock me Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus
He was Superstar
He was popular
He was so exalted
Because he had flair
He was a virtuose
Was a rock idol
And everyone shouted:
Come on and rock me Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus
Come on and rock me Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus
It was around 1780
And it was in Vienna
No plastic money anymore
The banks against him
From which his debts came
It was common knowledge
He was a women’s man
Women loved his punk
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus
Come and rock me Amadeus…
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Yes yes yes
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus…

I summarise here but it depicts the story accurately enough:
A few years ago a firm called Bannerman Johnson Maclay (Glasgow firm) signed a clean audit on a firm. The Bank of Scotland loaned the company several million on the strength of it.
The company was atually a busted flush and went under. The Bank successfully sued BJM. The accountancy profession recoiled in horror and a new audit report was produced which now contains what is called “The Bannerman wording”.
This means that the audit report, which used to be relied upon all user groupd of accounts, is now made solely to the members (shareholders) and makes clear the auditors report to no one else. Not the bank, creditors, employees, HMRC, The Queen, John Smeaton.
The auditors exposure is therefore only to its own reputation, the shareholders, and Whyte’s company is the majority holder, and to their own professional body. Important enough but it simplifies things a little. They have been signing off for long enough on a £140m stadium.
Just for info, but as a member of the profession I would be amazed if a clean audit report could possibly be provided while the tax case decision is pending. Maybe the desire to get a fee out may bear influence right enough.

Amedues
It wouldn’t be that not only are there side letters for the players, but that they were daft enought to provide side letters to directors re the EBT’s as well?
Sorry, should be Amedeus.
The other big story I want to hear is that the Fraud Office is taking over the case from HMRC.
sixtaeseven @13:04
cheers for the advice.
hail hail.
Bannerman wording
“This report is made solely to the company’s members, as a body, in accordance with Chapter 3 of Part 16 of the Companies Act 2006. Our audit work has been undertaken so that we might state to the company’s members those matters we are required to state to them in an auditor’s report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the company and the company’s members as a body, for our audit work, for this report, or for the opinions we have formed.”

Thanks for the reply – that’s another way that he could be technically telling the truth whilst still misleading as he appears to like to do. Then again I reckon that if registration is required by a certain date that this would have been checked and posted here or on RTC.
I think I remember reading that security does not have to be registered until you wish to take that security but my memory is not what is was.
