Celtic Quick News fully supports the decision by the Supporters’ Association Executive Committee to ask an Emergency Delegates Meeting to vote on whether to selectively boycott clubs which vote for a Newco to be admitted directly into the SPL next season.
We discussed the idea of a boycott on this basis towards the end of last season. It appears the only appropriate action if our ‘sport’ can be subjugated for financial ends.
I am sure Celtic fans will not be the only ones considering a boycott. If Newco gains access to the SPL next season there is likely to be a schism between supporters of clubs who opposed the move and those clubs who vote for Newco, despite the wishes of their own supporters.
Kilmarnock might be able to look forward to lower costs for stewarding and turnstile operators, from their own support as well as others. Still, they would be able to open more than one stand when Newco visit.
What a great five days Walter Smith had. His attempts to buy assets from Rangers administrators failed, sigh, but he managed to undermine the guys trying to sell tickets to Ibrox next season, so it wasn’t a complete waste of time. Legned.

My view is that a Celtic Supporter is a Celtic Supporter whether or not They attend matches consistently………….I get the impression a lot more Celtic fans are going to be following the Bhoys from next season….

Don’t like the idea of boycotting games, the support belongs with the team. I don’t think for one minute that the next few years will be anything other than pretty tough after the whole game readjusts after the death of the.. .

I do like the idea of hitting clubs that vote to allow Newco back into the SPL in the pocket. Would it be feasible for the CSA to give other clubs a price we would be willing to pay for going to their stadium? If they don’t accept our offer – say £6 adults, £3 kids & OAP’s – then boycott on. Or should I lay off the wine gums

I have attended games on and off for ever……………used to go to every game home and away….then young family arrived…………..no games for a few years…then season book for myself …then first second and third daughter……then just myself and oldest….other two lost interest………….then just myself as daughter took care of herself………and so on…..depending on circumstances…………not had a season ticket for about 4 seasons now…..but if there are no huns next year I will be back…….I think the whole atmosphere without them around is going to be fantastic….and I am not the only one who thinks that way….and I bet every other team has fans who think the same…………………….Bury the huns!!!

Think you’re dead right. As it happens I thought that the rest of James’ post to me was a fairly accurate analysis of the current state of Scottish football but I think it’s important that the decisions which need to be made by individual supporters, be it season tickets or boycotting away games need to be made by the individuals themselves without pressure from anyone else.
