LEIGH GRIFFITHS has the ability to take Europe by storm, that’s the view of former Celtic boss Ronny Deila.
The Norwegian knows all about the 26-year-old’s qualities as the striker claimed 40 goals in his last season in charge at the Hoops.
Deila failed to take the Parkhead men into the Champions League group stages in his two years.
But he is confident Griffiths can deliver the goods in Europe and at home in the new campaign.
He said: “Leigh can score goals in Europe for Celtic.
“He showed that during my time and again last season for Brendan.
“Leigh is a goalscorer and it doesn’t matter what level he plays at — he is a finisher.
“I watched the Scotland game and when they got those free-kicks against England I said to my friends: ‘Leigh will score!'”
Griffiths has never managed to score in the Champions League group stages, but he has netted eight goals in 17 matches in the qualifying rounds.
