Deprioritised game ends predictably

601

Send out your B Team for an away game after losing at home and you should not be disappointed in the outcome.  The first half was as unstructured a performance as we have seen since the summer.  The pitch, which was terrible, can only take so much responsibility.

Stephen Welsh had a nervous return to the side, one of several poor passes fell short of Nir Bitton and led to the opening goal.  The second was perhaps the poorest of the many Celtic lost across both legs.  Bodo/Glimt didn’t so much break as saunter forward.  Anthony Ralston watched the ball, not the player peeling off behind him.  Nir Bitton was skin-tight to Vetlesen, but also watched the ball, and allowed his man time to cushion a shot into the net.  It was all too easy for Bodo.

Ange, you made your call, we all know this was one you deprioritised, we will all forgive you if the masterplan comes together.  Rather this than sorry tales come May.

  1. Big Georges Fan Club - Hail, Hail, Wee Oscar on

CELTIC MAC on 26TH FEBRUARY 2022 11:58 PM

He has to win the fight at the end, not early doors.

He is fighting the Champion, the boxer who earned all of those titles.

I will ask again my friends, was Josh Taylor a beaten man? A beaten Man?

Like I said, it’s not amateur night folks.

    —————————-

That’s an interesting take on it – and I see what you are saying. Also, on points, I thought the other fella won it. But I get what you are saying.

I was also getting increasingly pissed off with the comments of the three guys at the ringside making it a ‘UK’ vs Scotland thing. Nationality was irrelivant with regards the specific point they were trying to make.

Anyway – as I say, given the rules as they stand (points per round) I thought Catteral won.

On your point – was Taylor a beaten man at the end – were the belts torn from his hands? Then no, the weren’t – so I do think you have a point. I do think a champion should have to have his titles wrested from him in no uncertain manner.

Clint Eastwood vs Tank Murdoch sort of thing.

Good to see an alternative view.

    God bless.

Beating the Hibbees Today will take a Monumental effort.

  8. Our games are preceded with a lot of anxiety for me these days ! However it’s far better to be involved in a title race than being out of the running like last season.

A high tempo and a return to a good defensive set up will see us grab a valuable three points today.

Hart, Juranovic, Vickers, Starfelt, Taylor, CalMac, Hatate, O’Riley, Abada, Jota and Maeda.

  9. Agree that it is getting to the nervy part of the season now.

Beautiful sunny day though looking over from the beach at Aberdour to Leith.

Stunning morning and personally great to be clear of the stupid covid bug and so so tempted to go to the game.

We’re a win not so critical I would be over there in a flash but my recent experiences at Easter Rd have been poor and I don’t want to jinx it today.

Hopefully we can blow them away by half time and we won’t be watching from behind the couch for 97 mins.

  10. Good morning all CQN’rs across the globe from a rather chilly but lovely sunny morning in the Garden of God.

Oh ma heeeeed I need a fry up.

Hopefully back to all first team starters back in today and get at them from the off.

    Your first paragraph

“Our games are preceded with a lot of anxiety for me these days ! However it’s far better to be involved in a title race than being out of the running like last season.”

captures my feelings perfectly. Well said

A hard fought and well deserved 3 points I’m hoping.

  15. Glorious in Corcaigh…………..

Only positive thoughts and hopes for the team today.

    3 points please.

Big Giorgos on a run now.

BTW actually watched the boxing last night – disgraceful decision.

  17. Celtic: Hart, Taylor, Starfelt, Carter-Vickers, Juranovic, Rogic, McGregor, Hatate, Abada, Maeda, Jota.

Subs: Bain, Bitton, Welsh, Ralston, McCarthy, O’Riley, Forrest, Ideguchi, Dembele.

  18. PRESONPANS BHOYS

If it’s a hard game today we only have ourselves to blame. The have been pish all season, ask any hibbie

That’s a very strange comment to make.

Since I started supporting Celtic in the early 60s, I’ve been aware that every Scottish team, no matter how good or bad their form, raise their game against Celtic. It’s all about the honour and the glory.

It doesn’t matter if Hibs or Hamilton Accies give us a hard game. As long as we win.

  19. David 9.21.

That’s as bad a decision, as the boxing, last night.

Jimmy is real, honest, forthright and gets frustrated at the trolling.

Jimmy if you are lurking, be as well, as you can be.

I will miss your posts, I didn’t agree with everything, nor would you expect me to, if 2 people agree all the time, one is either scared or a sycophant, that’s what I always say, you can add or a multi monikor troll to that.

  20. GG dropped?

If so, it can only be because he got carried away when making the comments he made.

Just do the job today Celtic.

And lets see what happens later.
