Deprioritised game ends predictably

601

Send out your B Team for an away game after losing at home and you should not be disappointed in the outcome.  The first half was as unstructured a performance as we have seen since the summer.  The pitch, which was terrible, can only take so much responsibility.

Stephen Welsh had a nervous return to the side, one of several poor passes fell short of Nir Bitton and led to the opening goal.  The second was perhaps the poorest of the many Celtic lost across both legs.  Bodo/Glimt didn’t so much break as saunter forward.  Anthony Ralston watched the ball, not the player peeling off behind him.  Nir Bitton was skin-tight to Vetlesen, but also watched the ball, and allowed his man time to cushion a shot into the net.  It was all too easy for Bodo.

Ange, you made your call, we all know this was one you deprioritised, we will all forgive you if the masterplan comes together.  Rather this than sorry tales come May.

  1. TOM, was at the vojvodina game with my uncle packy, was at the rangers end, just about to leave when we got that corner, remember charlie floating it over and big billy nearly bursting the net, some things stick in your memory and that is one of them,H.H.

  2. Forget about Ibrox – starting tomorrow – four wins v, (a)Hibs, (h)St Mirren, (a)Livi & (h)Ross Co, puts us exactly where we want to be……anything dropped by others is a bonus. Let us do our job!

I wasn’t at the Vojvodina game. My dad was. When he came home he wouldn’t tell me and my brother the score as the highlights were coming on Scotsport soon, but I knew he was high as a kite.

I tell younger Celtic supporters today that none of these games were live on TV. They weren’t even on live radio. They just can’t believe it.

During Celtic’s run to Lisbon, only the second leg semi-final in Prague was live on TV and that was in the afternoon. Time off school for us. The first leg at Celtic Park wasn’t even live on the radio.

It’s all about recruitment and we have been pretty poor in that regard.

In the past yes, Ange seems to be on the right track though?

  5. Tom I don’t remember the Dukla game being live on tele, it was on the wireless and the time keeper on the site Imwas working at let me listen tae it.

  6. There’s Shortie replaying some of the Caley Thistle Cup defeat commentary from 19canteen, no idea why, switched it straight off.

Yeah course it was, they cant help themselves, sure not that long ago they were saying therangers should be congratulated for bringing to Scottish football one of the biggest names in European football in Aaron Ramsey, and how it was going to be great for our game.

Don’t want to speak to soon but it’s not working out too well so far.

  8. there is no doubt that Rangers International beating Dortmund away is indeed the greatest win in thier short history.

but there are any number of scottish clubs that can claim wins better or equal.

    Mr Stein,

In the 1961–62 season, Dunfermline progressed to the quarter-final of the 1961–62 European Cup Winners’ Cup[31] and finished in fourth place in the league.[29] Their league position earned a place in the Fairs Cup after a Greek club withdrew.[32] Dunfermline defeated Everton in the 1962–63 Fairs Cup and retrieved a four-goal deficit against Valencia, but then lost in a play-off game.[

    A nugget.

The racist skank who dropped in a little of his vermin racism in the last week

    “Chinese plague”

    Commie corbyn- who is that?

He is follower of racist George ‘roubles’Galloway?

Your party rejected him as his racism towards Naz Chan, where one of his racist followers, just like “tommy from glasgow”(jhb) who claimed they were family to get her marriage certificate, the fact she was brutalised, raped continuously and subjected to horrendous abuse mattered not a jot.

George proved how much an attention seeking eunuch he is there.

Thats why you get the “commie corbyn” shite.

He rejected his application for membership.

Maybe that’s why he campaigned against Labour in Baxley

Maybe thats why the topic whore voted Tory while fondling the gentry of Dumfries and Gallowau

Assange- well its easy to see all Celtic supporters who have had one “slipped in” them Gp, beware of individual socialists, who put themselves first and will use anyone or anything to stay pertinent now that he is unelectable.

You take it easy,be aware of the vermin you think are Celtic fans,he is here for the politics and will be pulling his wire as his team of unionist trolls shite all over this dear green place as they have done the last week.

Meet racism and fascism head on.

    Don’t be naive.

The 1962–63 season was the 61st season of competitive football played by Dundee. The club finished in ninth place in Division One, as well as competing in the Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup, and European Cup after winning the league the season prior. Dundee’s European Cup run was the main focus of the season, as the Dark Blues made it to the tournament’s semi-finals. They recorded large victories throughout the campaign, including 8–1 against German champions 1. FC Köln, a 4–1 win over Portuguese side Sporting CP, home and away victories over R.S.C. Anderlecht, and an unlikely win over eventual European champions A.C. Milan.[

  15. In our house in 1967 we had a modern radiogram with a turntable and radio.

The radio had a tuning dial which moved a needle along a grid with names like London, Paris, Hilvershum, Berlin, Vienna & Prague.

Celtic were at home to Dukla Pague in the European Cup semi-final first leg.

I fiddled with the dial and moved the needle to Prague and there it was – the Celtic game with commentary in Czech. After about a minute I heard what was obviously a goal by Jimmy Johnstone. I could hear the roar of the Celtic support, but I hadnt a clue what the score was.

A few minutes later I lost the link and eventually gave up. What a nerve-racking 3 hours ensued as my brother and I waited for my dad to come home and the TV highlights.

Over the years there have been many far better results for scottish clubs in Europe but they are not the target audience. If you support any other team outside sevco and listen to clyde one sports etc. You are the outliers. There is far better content on most fan forum, blogs and podcasts.
