Double time for Celtic

780

It is nonsense to talk about Hampden Hoodoos, Celtic’s five defeats there since Neil Lennon became manager have been a result of poor performances, not superstition (fighting the urge to mention two last minute penalty decisions).  Celtic were unquestionably the stronger team on four of those five occasions, arguably all five, but they have been tactically out-thought at the national stadium time after time.

We are vastly stronger than Dundee United but once the whistle goes tomorrow, unless we can match them for hunger, arrest the defensive lapses which have blighted us all season, and find the key to breakdown what will be a tight defence, there is no reason to believe the outcome will be any different than when we faced a weaker St Mirren.

Shortly before that St Mirren defeat I said we were not playing consistently to win the treble we were short odds for.  Consistency hasn’t improved much since, which is why you are hearing talk coming out of Lennoxtown about this being the biggest game of the season.

It’s double time….

The Sevco inquiry into Chuck will buy him time and the SFA if they can will use this time to defer any judgement they want to to make

No matter what happens the SFA will not sink them

They have a limited choice it was either Chris Graham or Grandmaster Suck

We would expect nothing different from ceo of any company attached to that club who have such dignified history

Biggest game of the season so far for Celtic.

However, not a hoodoo, but definite psychological problems have developed on an indifferent, playing surface and in the soulless stadium.

Take a lesson from Hibs and stick the ball in the pokey and end this nonsense where very few of our current team, have played well at Hampden.

    Cometh the hour.

  5. 'crushed nuts?' 'Naw, Layringitis!' on

Keevins has been quoting CQNers all day, his ‘I don’t do internet’ looking a bit thin!

  6. Afternoon all,

Emm….who’s going to pay for the ‘independent’ commission? Hope they get paid up front and with cash!!

Well done the Hibees on their amazing comeback. Armageddon…what Armageddon?

I’m really looking forward to our game tomorrow and, like everyone else, want Celtic to win convincingly. A green and white final (as opposed to Green and Whyte) will be fantastic.

    Hail Hail

Why do they have to have either of them

How about some supposedly impartial journos

  9. It’s good to know that grassy knolls still exist, and that magic bullets shot by one lone gunman are still valid ways of coducting inquiries into one’s own behaviour to explain the inexplicable.

So nae worries then: t’rankers will have their in-house Warren Commisssion determine that there’s nothing to be seen and we can all move along quietly safe in the knowledge that the status quo will remain intact.

Anyway, I hope our game tomorrow is a cracker. DU will be really up for it……..not that we won’t……bit I expect DU to come at us like a whirlwind from the word ‘go’ and I hope we adopt the same approach and rock them back on their heels.

    HH!

You are probably right. However could you imagine using the excuse of having an internal inquiry as a defence of not getting nicked being upheld anywhere. Even in Scotish football

  11. Emdy know who Liam Boyce is? Somebody on twitter saying he’s coming to us. Excuse my ignorance, I know the name, but can’t for the life of me remember who he is.

  13. I agree that a good start would be preferable. Against St Mirren at Hampden the team were defending a corner in the first minute. Not good!

  14. Joe Filippis Haircut on

An Independnt enquiry ah well thats it sorted then move on timmy nothing to see here. H.H.

  15. Boyce is a young striker who has been banging the goals in for Cliftonville this season.

Had a short spell at Werder Bremen before returning to the Reds and had a Celtic trial a few years ago

He’s currently at Cliftonville. Was at a Bundesliga team for a while before that, though obviously didn’t make the breakthrough there.

I agree why any one of them

But their shows were accused of bias so I guess they brought in the most pleasing on the eye and ear for the discerning Sevconian licence payer

  19. Independent inquiry I hear.

Independent like, Duff and Phelps independent?

    Independent ma erchie.

Just an excuse for ogilvie and co to procrastinate and plot.

Until they can come up with their next mockery of the rule book.

    Cynical? You bet.

  20. My biggest wish ( apart from the obvious one…….for me anyway ) is that somehow the universe would decide sevco & iPox did not exist, never did, never will, that their bigoted follyfollyers were therefore redundant and free of such painful mindsets and were into something else ( whatever ).

The only thing I would miss from this whole nasty criminal saga would be the occasional hilarity.

  21. Well done Cliftonville. I spent many an afternoon watching the Reds as a member of the Red Army in my youth. I lived a stones throw from Solitude

  22. It will only be Independant if ole Craigie bhoy has a say on who sits on it. Nothing would surprise with that mob. :))

exactly, the SFA stool pigeons are now delighted that the Orcs will investigate themselves. Save the SFA from finding them innocent of all charges, bunch of lying, devious arses who would be exposed in any other country, Shame on us for being part of this sham.

  24. PFayr

Remember his debut well. Watched it often enough. Selfishly had a shot at goal when he should have squared it to Henke for a tap in.
