The challenge Efe Ambrose will face should he proposed move to Hibs go through will be considerably less taxing that what he faced in the Premiership, or in Europe, with Celtic. Efe will go down in folklore as another African Cup of Nations enigma.
He was part of the heroic story against Barcelona in November 2012, before heading to the African Cup of Nations two months later. That tournament would see the player achieve the peak of his continent’s football Kilimanjaro. He played right back for champions, Nigeria.
That was on the Sunday. By the Tuesday he had been flown across the globe and made the starting line-up for Celtic in their Champions League last 16 game against Juventus. Two minutes into the game Efe was caught underneath the ball and out of position, Juventus exploited the lapse to the full.
As far as Efe’s time at the top goes, that was that. Since then his form has been on a pronounced downwards trajectory. The thing is, he’s still only 28. There was a player of considerable value in there one. If someone can bring focus to him, there may be again.
A word on matters relating to illness and medical information of our heroes…………
Pretty much everyone knew of Billy McNeill’s condition for some time but thankfully, it wasn’t subject to online speculation. There are a few guidelines on health matters which are worth observing:
Health is a private matter and should not be discussed online unless and until the person or family decide otherwise.
While we feel close to our heroes and will naturally want to offer support at a time of need, serious illness is the most private of matters, it is wholly inappropriate for a former footballer to hear his condition is a matter of public knowledge.
A bereavement should only be ‘revealed’ online by someone acting on the explicit instructions of the family. The unofficial release of this type of news is a very regretful manifestation of the internet age.
In recent years, we have seen many occasions of older celebrities’ deaths being incorrectly reported, then retweeted and retold thousands of times before it is denied. For an ill person and their family this can be a horrific experience.
The world can do without our condolences for a couple of hours until the family concerned have been able to contact all members.
These guidelines are scrupulously followed by the mainstream media in Scotland, who will hear of a footballer’s bereavement but hold the news – and prepare their reaction – until the family are ready.
For former-Celtic players, the club will usually be in touch with the family and release the news at the appropriate time. If you want to express your condolences, prepare your thoughts but hold until an official announcement.

As I journey into the depths of Dalmarnock I am reminded that today will be spent explaining to the ignorant the significance of my ashes..
But Celtic park looks splendid in the lovely crisp morning Sunshine

Word of The Day (inspired by the Moonhowlers part 2…..)
Vituperation /vɪˌtjuːpəˈreɪʃən/

2. abusive language or venomous censure
3. the act of vituperating

Word Origin and History for vituperation Expand
n.
mid-15c. MWD great wee piece on the North Curve; anyone who experiences it will, IMHO, be blown away.
It’s a great way to watch the game!
I see the father of a guy I went to school with in the North Curve every week; he must be pushing 80 and needs a stick to get around but he has (for obvious reasons) chosen to go to the North Curve! Good on him

Welcome to Lent everyone. I have left a decent bottle of cider in the fridge as my incentive to go the whole shift.
Off to Dundee today, that could be enough to drive me to drink.
Take care out there , it’s cauld, awfa cauld. HH

It beggars belief! Why is everything now being centered on one specific group in terms of how we should practice our faith?
We have a Pontiff who, quite rightly, reminds us that we should be far more tolerant and accepting of homosexuals, divorced, unmarried (but “living in sin”) within the Church. He asks us, again, quite rightly, not to judge.
However, as someone who has a good number of Gay friends I find it a bit tedious (as do they) that at every turn we seem to have to alter or adapt something to “show solidarity” with the LGBTQ community!
The LGBTQ community want equality; to me that doesn’t mean setting them aside as a special group.

MACJAY1 FOR NEIL LENNON
Alex Young (known to evertonians as “the golden vision” was in the midfield of the Everton team that dominated english football in the early 60’s. Like most top english teams of that era they had a nucleus of scots . As well as Young there was Jimmy Gabriel and Alex Scott ,who had been displaced at rangers by Willie Henderson. Everton of those days were nicknamed the “bank of england” due to their wealth. At this time their neighbors Liverpool languished in div 2.

A Jazzy Hail Hail to you!
Tonight could be tricky. I expect them to be very physical. It will be interesting to see what tactics they use. Last week against Newco they had a right go at them. Similarly they didn’t sit back at Celtic Park for which they paid a heavy price. Will the go kamikaze or not, let’s hope so. A big night ahead for GMS, he must be a near certain starter and he must deliver for the sake of his future.

It’s from 2010 I like it also his 2008 joint Prayer for My Ancestors. Moving in that Trane spiritual aspect direction.
The Josef Leimberg album is great, many elements well blended, really listenable album which I really enjoyed when it popped through the door! A real nod to the glory days of 70’s jazz too! Hop a little hip in there as well and you got a record!

Bill Gates goes to purgatory.
St. Peter says, “Now Bill, you have done some good things, and you have done some bad things. Now I am going to let you decide where you want to go”.
First, St. Peter shows Bill an image of Hell with beautiful women running on beaches. Then, St Peter shows Bill an image of Heaven with robed angels playing harps on clouds.
Bill chooses Hell.
About a week later, St. Peter checks in on Bill in Hell and finds him being whipped by demons.
Bill says to St. Peter, “What happened to all the beautiful women and the beaches?”
St. Peter replies, “That was just the screen saver.”

That’s fantastic news that she is now home! I will continue to keep her in my prayers and hope she will make a full recovery.
On a sadder note I got news today that my brother in law is most likely suffering cancer of the kidney; he is due for a biopsy over the next few days to confirm the bad news. A fairly young 62 so hopefully the great CQN family will also keep him in their thoughts and prayers.
