EIGHT FOR THE ROAD

SO far, so good in 2024 for the champions!

Celtic have played two games since the turn of the year, won them both, scored eight goals and Joe Hart has kept a clean sheet on both occasions.

And Brendan Rodgers has also seen EIGHT different marksmen in the victories, 3-0 in the Premiership against St Mirren in Paisley on January 2 and 5-0 in the Scottish Cup fourth round triumph over the gallant Highlanders of Buckie Thistle at rain-lashed Parkhead last night.

START OF SOMETHING GOOD…Daizen Maeda clips the ball past St Mirren keeper Zach Hemming to score Celtic’s first goal of 2024 in the 3-0 league win in Paisley on January 2.

Daizen Maeda, for the third time in succession, scored the first goal of the new year while Matt O’Riley and Greg Taylor joined in the victory over Stephen Robinson’s side who will provide the opposition in the next stage of the national competition in February.

Paulo Bernardo got the show on the road in the east end of Glasgow when he opened the scoring in the 25th minute and Odin Holm, Kyogo Furhashi, Luis Palma and Rocco Vata added the others.

Now the Hoops firing squad have Ross County in their sights when the Premiership returns against Ross County in Paradise on Saturday.

The holders’ performance on a tricky night of wet and windy conditions are worth a second look courtesy of those good folk at Celtic TV Unique Angle.

Please enjoy!
