‘Emerald’ Green aims for Champions League

1007

There was some misunderstanding that Charles ‘Emerald’ Green’s suggestion that he was hoping to “invest in the playing side right away” might not play well with major creditor HMRC.  Capital introduced to the company after a CVA has nothing to do with a creditor’s assessment of the offer and, if anything, would offer comfort to HMRC that the company would be able to maintain future payments.

The comments are more of a challenge for the football authorities.  The independent SFA appellant panel will today assess whether to increase, reduce of remove Rangers 12 month player registration embargo.  Rangers narrative for the last two weeks is that this embargo could put them out of business.  Apparently, they need to spend MORE money in future to ensure survival.

It remains to be seen if playing victim does them any good at appeal but Green has brushed this away, Rangers now plan to put a team on the field to win the league and reach the Champions League.  Maybe not the wisest PR move.

John O’Hara, the Celtic secretary, had been unable to lure Kelly. Glass, however, was indefatigable and said he had ‘camped on his doorstep’. The 22-year-old was talked into taking part in Celtic’s first ever match, a 5-2 win over Rangers. ‘No Kelly, no Keltic’ became a catch phrase summary of the towering centre half’s significance. ‘I knew that if I could get Kelly, the rest would follow’, said Glass.

  2. KV v HR – KD is the reason i supported Celtic – that smile when he scored , his reading of the game and his passion for winning.

Henrik for me though was a better all round player – a team player. Scored all sorts of goals and scored/performed at the very highest level.

2 phenominal Celts with Celtic class and everything we expect of a celtic hero.

I think it just meant more to Henrik – the way he cried on departure showed me hwo much Celtic meant to him.

If what Scottish News is reporting is accurate, which I doubt given that they referred to an outstanding Income Tax bill owed by RFCIA, I firmly believe that even before the decision of the appeal panel is known there has been a serious breach of process. They are reporting that Charles Green is in attendance at the hearing. I am sorry but what is it to do with him?

At the present time he is no more entitled to be there than me. The hearing itself is to listen to an appeal against sanctions taken against RangersIA for misdemeanors which took place during the period of Craig Whytes stewardship. Please accept that I have a long number of years of experience in dealing with and appearing before appeal courts and committees. The appeal can only be based on the original decision, the reasons for which were published at the weekend,Tthe grounds of appeal are restricted to the fact that the original panel either got their facts wrong or they misinterpreted tha facts. No new evidence should be permitted. In addition they have probably also appealed on the grounds that the sanctions imposed were either wrong or too great given the findings. There is absolutely no place for Charles Green to appear, be represented or make comment. Any effect which the sanctions may have on the future running or existence of Rangers is completely irrelevant in this appeal. I await with interest the decision, but would be absolutely amazed if Green is allowed to take part. Quite simply he should not even be permitted to be present.

  5. It just shows how easy it is to outsmart an Orc, with their pronounced ‘disruption’ of the Cup Final.

If its upheld the panel will also have time to change their identities.

  6. I was only 6 when Dalgliesh left in 1977 so although I saw him in the flesh in the hoops my first memory of him was in a Liverpool shirt in Jock Stein’s testimonial in 1978 at Parkhead.

My idols were Paul McStay and Tommy Burns and more recently obviously Henke. However, probably the best player that I’ve seen in the hoops has to be wee Lubo.

Not a legend because he wasn’t there long enough but by God what a footballer!!

Could be a reason for postponing the tribunal appeal decision.

    Wonkyradar

Re Hogan— Maybe a piece on Hogan is for another day?

Or a story about the amazing relationship between Hogan, Nelson and “Slammin Sam”.

On Woods– well I don’t know enough about the technicalities of Golf to have an opinion really, but I think it is worth reflecting on the views of others who will always know far more than me.

The post earlier referred to the fact that Nicklaus, Palmer, Player and Trevino all played together earlier this month. All 4 were asked about Woods and would he ever get back to his dominating best.— and none were absolutely certain that he would.

Palmer and Trevino were very vocal about the fact that Woods should just go away on his own and rediscover the way to play at his best. No coaches, No gurus– just pure personal feel.

At one point he won six tournaments on a row. You have to be good to do that.

However, some Golfers are beat before the start because they are already worrying about the other guiy– how good he is, the kind of shots he is known to be good at and so on.

Woods is no longer thought of as invincible, and that means that others will think that they can get at him. He, himself, cannot believe he was as unbeatable as he was before. Yet both those views are as daft as the other– because in golf it is only you that hits the shot. Tennis– the other guy can put the ball in a place and affect how you play. Golf? It is you, you and you.

Unlike Hogan, to an extent Trevino with the lightning and so on, Woods now has to deal with his own personal trauma– his own demons, his own soul if you like.

It is easy to “swing when your winning”– the old guys suggest that the greatest respect is reserved for those who find the swing when they are losing and rediscover their feel and confidence for the ball, the club and the ground beneath their feet. Woods right now is taking advice from everyone and their granny– he should go away on his own and rediscover himself.

By the way, one of my favourite Hogan stories is about the time he won at Merion without having a 7 iron in his bag. He was asked why he did not have a No 7?

He looked the questioner curiously in the eye and with a little amazement in his voice replied ” But there isn’t a 7 iron shot on this course- so why bring one?”

leftclicktic. Fella you are basing your post on normal rules this is Rangers you are talking about the Establishment team. They are the peepil and will break and bend rules with impunity that imo is the reason that they are not dead in the water. There is lots of funny hand shakes going on and many many nods and winks dont make the mistake of thinking normal rules apply the end game in this farce is likely to be something that you cant countenance. If that guy Green is there, it’s for one reason only. From what I’ve seen so far, this guy is lapping up the attention.

He’ll either come swaggering out with a grin on his face, or start briefing the lapdogs about going to some inter-galactic federation to appeal. Either way, he’ll want centre stage.
