Failure elsewhere cannot disguise abject Celtic challenge

1009

As the darkest clouds descend over Ibrox with news that medals in their trophy room have been poinded by sheriff officers, sentiment in our half of the city is no brighter.  Celtic’s best chance to win the league this season lies not in outpointing everyone else, or seeing their principle rivals lose 10 points, it is in the complete obliteration of Rangers, allowing us to take our chances with Motherwell, who can open up a six point gap between second and third against Celtic on Sunday.

Whatever the following weeks bring for Rangers, if Celtic winning the league is a consequence, we cannot allow the title to disguise the abject failure to be competitive so far this season.

Watched the highlights this morning. There was a player sent off in the Dunfermline v Dundee Utd game for the same challenge.

Must admit. After Gollums eyes on the back of his heid missed Naismiths assault you would have thought Celtic just scored to win the Champions League Final when the horrible little runt assisted by Gollums collapsed on the park with his injury. The irony is that the self inflicted injury was exasperated by him playing on after not being sent off.

i usually fairly relaxed about opposing players even huns

however Naismith has been doing my head in since last season

he is a diving, moaning ,snidey tackling wee reptile …karma …

Would the animals have won at Pittodrie with 10 men?

Would they have come back from 2-0 down last season had Collum actually sent McGregor off?

Collum – worth 10 points a season to Rangers.

suprised Golum wasn’t up for the teacher of the year award last night..

don’t think any of his pupils would recommend him…

    little runt….

well done to Christine Emmett of St Elizabeth’s Hamilton…

I watched a bit of the awards last night. Did you see that mental history teacher that won an award? His acceptance speech went on for about 7/8

    minutes.

there is a litany of Collum hun assists

as a tim ..he must be seen to be impartial :¬))

  6. IMO there is absolutley no chance of the huns losing 25 points for 3 seasons, new rules will already be in the post.

  7. We were assured that the all new open and accountable procedures of the SFA would sort out the problem of referee bias.

Is anyone now arguing that’s the case?

  8. Whats the story with naismith I know he was injured but nothing too trivial I hope?

I’m gonna burn for that one but its worth it.

An aunty of mine teaches alongside Willie Collum.

He’s a devout RC but is considered ‘weird’ by many colleagues. So determined is he not to be tainted with sympathy to Celtic because of his background, he overcompensates in his on field decision making.

This was ever the trap. Obvious hun minded refs could always shake the shake with Ham and Egg and act with impunity. Green tinged ones had to toe the line, (Rangers first, last and always) or were drummed out (Kevin O’ Donnell).

I hate us being so rubbish. It makes all the bad stuff academic.

I’ll maybe take up cider and quasi alcoholism, it seems to work for you big stuff!

Thank you for your help on Saturday, even if we stank.

‘IMO there is absolutley no chance of the huns losing 25 points for 3 seasons, new rules will already be in the post.’

What would happen is that it would be agreed, and once the new huns were safely ensconced in the SPL the rules would be changed again to restrict the penalty to one season.

It seems my frontal lobotomy was completed when I foolishly renewed my season ticket on the understanding we had a team and a manager that was capable of overtaking the Hun this season

  17. Didn’t see the Naismith tackle, but I did watch the huns’ game in the Bonnie Prince Charlie.

They work an awful lot harder than us, and don’t give me that ‘they’re all supporters’ crap, did anyone see how pumped Jelavic was when he scored.

Fed up hearing how bad they are.

Let’s stop kidding ourselves and we can then address the issue.

  19. Was it not the case a couple of years ago that Naismith injured his knee during a Cup semi?

Did he not leave the field for treatment, only to be sent back out by Smith?

Did he not then collapse, unattended a few minutes later and subsequently missed months due to cruciate trouble?

Some similarities from the weekend, when he also continued after injuring himself.

  20. If any of you feel you know nothing about football well here are 8 guys who def know nothing about football…The CQN coupon update. After 12 weeks it is very bad reading. Incase it does not format well. The first column is how mnay winners have been picked out of how many choices. ie I have picked 5 winners out of 12 picks… The 2nd column is our winnings/ losses if we were to put on £1 each week as a single. So I am down £2.94 for the season so far.

BT is the person to follow as he is on a 6 week winning streak

I remember thinking of reporting Smith to the RSPCA at the time.

  22. henriks tongue on

It is something that been obvious for quite some time but the ‘in lennon we trust’ brigade and procrastinating board are supporting a manager living wholly on sympathy and goodwill despite a set of results and performances that would sink any other Celtic manager.

We are at a critical point where we have to change to have any chance of the SPL.

The manager and backroom staff simply have to go.

Neil is changing the team every week, slagging off the players and singling out his favourites, waiting until half time to say what he should at the start of the game

publicly says he doesn’t know whether to change the personnel or the system.

    It goes on and on.

We are out of champions league, bottom of the europa league, 3rd in the SPL, so far behind that Rengers that they could go into administration, be deducted points and STILL win the league.

Its time for change I’m afraid.

  23. Snake Plissken on

To be quite honest there are a few players playing for them who I would not be unhappy about seeing injured because of their cheating, thuggery and diving and how they never have the rules applied to them when they do these things.

There are too many of them who quite frankly would deserve it because they are not a kick in the pants away from what Naismith is – horrid individuals.

If that makes me a bad person then so be it.

  24. think out team is bad ?

i see the 2004 CL runners-up, AS Monaco, are sitting bottom of French Ligue 2

former AC Milan star, Marco Simone is the boss

no hapnin for him it seems

  25. Greenlion2 –

I have a whooping 78p on Newcastle to lead at half time and full time at 11/2.

My logic being that I’m only getting to see the first half as Doc Martin takes precedence at 9.00. On MOnday’s Mrs Baldie rules the roost!

I was at the Dromore Ballinderry game in Healy Park yesterday (wife’s from village next to Dromore and her sister lives there) with her brother in law.

Whilst I was enormously impressed with the overall quality of play – I am more than confident Crossmaglen XXXXXXs will have more than enough in their armery to beat Ballinderry.

Have you also heard of the referee being attacked after the Lamh Dhearg Rasharkin match. I am told it was the fans of Rasharkin that done him in and had it not been for the Lamh Dhearg players that man would be in very serious trouble at this moment in time.

    shocking.
