A stream of criticism appeared in yesterday’s comments section to greet media coverage of yesterday’s Scottish Cup draw away to Inverness Caledonian Thistle or Dunfermline on 4 February. Such is our lot (long) after shock cup defeats; remember, these guys literally have to write something. No one mentioned 1961 so put your money on a trip to Fife next month.
A few moments ago Celtic confirmed Beram Kayal went through his operation yesterday and is now targeting a return to action for preseason. Irrespective of the circumstances of the incident in which he was injured, Beram’s is another in a long list of soft tissue injuries Celtic players have suffered in recent seasons, a fact which should engage minds at the club.
Rangers issued a really curious statement following the suspension of trading in their shares by the Plus Stock Exchange. Many Rangers fans have invested thousands of pounds in club shares and bonds, so one would have expected to read the obligatory suggestion from the company that investors take professional advice when addressing the withdrawal of the share disposal service. Still, at least they didn’t suggest “Rangers Football Club PLC could survive any administration event but feels it would not be the end of the world if it didn’t”. That kind of comment from those charged to look after their interests really would alarm shareholders.

The five star thing is a complete joke anyway was it not brought out to signify you had won the european cup/champions league? Do any other clubs have it for every ten titles they’ve won???

‘Qualified Resolution would require Celtic swaying one other member to vote with us or for Mad Vlad to have a Mad Mental Vlad day.
SPL board will require a simple majority from’
The difference is that if it’s a vote by the board members they have to vote for the best interests of the SPL.
They’re directors of the company that is the SPL. They are legally obliged to vote for what is in the best interest of THAT company, not what’s in the best interests of their own clubs.
If it’s down to the board of the SPL then a newco huns is guaranteed entry straight into the SPL.

Agree with you there, only if someone extraordinary becomes available, I think we should be getting rid of quite a few, I think we have somewhere around 9 or 10 on loan and a fair few who should be offloaded, this would give Neil a shout at getting in better players in the summer by freeing up wages and places, I would also hope that some of the younger players make it into the 1st team squad.

It looks as if another case involving Mr Whyte is cranking up in the Court of Session, but this time of a more personal nature.

I took the young fella to Allicante today, he’s away to saty with his sister, and I am missing him already, nobody to watch the football with, nobody to show how do build things, nobody to argue with, had a wee greet, still weeling up.

Sorry.
The company is the members. They are not listed, I believe. Therefor are the required to abide by the same rules as a listed company?

No they do not and that is because they have no concept of wrongdoing and that is because they have been getting away with it for years. When there are no negative consequences of wrongdoing, the very indicator that wrong has taken place, then there can be no concept of wrong.
This is why it is vital that they are made to face serious consequences for their behaviour, otherwise it will just be more of the same at everyone elses expense.

All directors are required to act in the interest of the company of which they are a director.

I understand completely my bhoys 12 and we are great pals and I know he feels it acutely to, but I always try to look positive and think how lucky I am to have this bhoy who brings me much joy and happiness.
As for cheering yourself up, what I do is think of the Huns plight, open a nice red and have some blue stilton and think of the good times with him, works every time.

Just 1 more Q.
Would that then be a matter for a GM passing a Qualified or Special resolution to determine if the should overturn the decision of the Board or could a member go straight to the courts?

I think we might need to sign another CM with Kayal out, even a good EPL one for a six month loan

good to see we continue to identify youngsters with potential. looks like the board have decided to take a long term approach to bringing in players. good thing about this is good young players will look at celtic and fancy their chances.

Not sure.
Though I suspect, given the urgency that would be involved, there would be an action for interim interdict.
The point is it wouldn’t happen. No director would leave themself open to the risk of it happening.
The SPL’s already signed up a TV deal based on a minimum number of OF games. It’s open and shut that it’s in the financial interests of the SPL to admit a newco huns. Questions of intergrity don’t come into it. The newco huns would be allowed in.

Ernie,
in terms of rule 14 the board cannot act on it’s own discretion in relation to the transfer of the Rangers share. In terms of the rule the board must serve a noticing stating to whom the share has to be transferred AFTER the company has met in general meeting and passed a qualified resolution.
Accordingly the destination of the SPL share– and therefore membership of the league– is determined by the company members and the board will then do as they are bidden by those members!
Bear in mind that the company and the board will not want to do anything that will lead to mayhem or a court challenge.
Ernie
Surely the SPL TV deal was drawn up with a R*ngers FC in current form not a Newco FC?
No history and definately no O** F*** tag
Sky have the SPL over a barrell?
