Focus shifts to Pittodrie

Tonight Aberdeen play the second of a run of three consecutive away games. After overcoming St Johnstone 3-4 in Perth a week ago they are on the road to face Inverness. The Highlanders have not lost in a month, and haven’t lost at home since the visit of Celtic in November, so John Hughes men will provide a stern test for Aberdeen.

Aberdeen are back on the road to Firhill on Friday night. Their season has been free of fixture congestion. This is a rare week with two games, and an even rarer one with two away games. It could be a pivotal period in the campaign.

Celtic won comfortably in the end against Ross County but confidence seemed at a low ebb until Leigh Griffiths opened the scoring. Sentiment may have swung in our favour before we take to the field at home to Inverness on Saturday.

Imagine a fitba club sacked a manager who has just won the double?

What replacement manager in his right mind would wish to be employed by a club like that.

Ronny is here for a couple of years yet I hope.

Support the Manager and his Celtic team on Saturday.

At least an empty seat can’t whinge.

Absolutely, – regarding Ronny, his record compares favourably with any coach never mind school teacher’s ☺.

We need Celtic supporters not internet experts.

    Macjay,

    But we’re not.

    We don’t need favours.

Am I happy that the sheep dropped points tonight…? You bet I am :)

Leftclicktic, that time in 2008 was a great time on CQN. The Towel Retrieval Service © WinningGemmell started here. We teased the mood change into life.

Earlier on today I saw a guy wearing a Five starred Sevco top and the thought occurred to me that , next season, each star would represent a year of their existence.

Ha, the vulture himself, waiting on the next managerial casualty so he can hawk himself around every live match he can swoop on the carcass – a very annoying man he is :-)

  8. SFTB,

Correct and, something people forget when greeting about our supposed financial advantage, the huns in their financial (doping) pomp needed last day wins in their NIAR (cccc….spit).

    Never a word etc….

There is a wee plan being hatched to fly the Tricolour in every Irish hoose in Clydebank this Easter. Flagpoles are being erected in front lawns as we speak. I am sure you Coatbrig bhoys are doing similar. :)

  10. It’s a strange place at times the ole CQN.

I didn’t share the confidence of many that we would stroll to the title given our performances against Ross County and Aberdeen. Saturday’s win was massive for me and the players and management deserve credit, even though I thought we were pretty poor again. On Saturday I said to a few folk that I now felt the title could go to the wire.

Tonight is a brilliant night for us with the result in Inverness!

The rest of the other stuff can wait.

3points lead with game in hand. I’ll take that any day of the week. Really enjoyed the Blog tonight.

  12. These things even themselves out over the course of a season

    but

only if Gollum refs 150 of your games every season…

remember, it’s not if or how often this happens it’s specifically when…

Beware the refereeing backlash now. Perhaps Gollum was leading into the next 5 performances for us that we won’t be able to complain about.

Still haven’t seen the game where we’re given a non-pen and 2 stonewallers in our box are waved away along with a flagged offside goal overturn.

Now when that game happens FOR us, then I’ll sit up and take notice.

  13. TBJ-correct,we will need a bit of beef in central midfield on Saturday, can see Mulgrew and Brown in there possibly? We know how they play,so sleeves rolled up.

  14. Now can We Just Agree that Refs in Scotland Are Incompetent….And put That Masonic Referee Conspiracy against Us To Bed….Tonight Proved it In Spades…

  15. Just heard the ICT result. Excellent.

I posted a month or so ago that I had noticed that it was open season on Collum and that the media were cutting him adrift. I wondered at this. Seemed strange.

Will we see him being hounded out now. After all we all know his religion?

  16. I thought it was a Penalty all day long, high ,head height boot, is dangerous play contact not essential.

ln my view it was at least a yellow, which would have been his second, so Aberdeen got off lightly,

  17. Backed an Aberdeen win tonight.

    The curse works again.

Collum is a poor referee. Not as desperately poor as a couple of years ago but still poor.

The process that promotes him to a European referee is questionable.

After tonight he will be the “fenian in the black” rather than a poor referee.

Fair play to big yogi. A team that likes to keep the ball on the deck with passing that don’t think twice about kicking the opposition to bits.

    Collum was woeful tonight.

If it was a penalty ( and it was cos he said so) it was at least a yellow which would have been taylors second yellow.

  20. Dumbhoy…..So its Speciacally when Refs give dodgy decsions….Mmmm….So when Your ONLY rival have a chance to Go Level Aint Specific Enough…..Lovin picking This Apart……….Rollin With it ….And Lovin It….

  21. TET

Because it would have been given against us doesn’t make it a penalty.

It’s never a penalty in my opinion.

Absolutely delighted it was given though :-)
