Focus shifts to Pittodrie

Tonight Aberdeen play the second of a run of three consecutive away games. After overcoming St Johnstone 3-4 in Perth a week ago they are on the road to face Inverness. The Highlanders have not lost in a month, and haven’t lost at home since the visit of Celtic in November, so John Hughes men will provide a stern test for Aberdeen.

Aberdeen are back on the road to Firhill on Friday night. Their season has been free of fixture congestion. This is a rare week with two games, and an even rarer one with two away games. It could be a pivotal period in the campaign.

Celtic won comfortably in the end against Ross County but confidence seemed at a low ebb until Leigh Griffiths opened the scoring. Sentiment may have swung in our favour before we take to the field at home to Inverness on Saturday.

    Addition[edit]

    A visual representation of the addition of positive and negative numbers. Larger balls represent numbers with greater magnitude.

    Addition of two negative numbers is very similar to addition of two positive numbers. For example,

    (−3) + (−5)  =  −8.

  2. Surely the Compliance officer must charge McIness, he accused another player of conning the referee, otherwise known as cheating. Horrible little man. I’m sure if Ronny done same it would go down well.

    That artical you just linked is something like I have been saying for long enough, yet you like the artical and not what I say, cos you think, wrongly, that I have an anti Celtic agenda, I do have an agenda, but it’s not anti Celtic, I like 99.99% of the Celtic support want to see us with a better team on the park that is capable of competing in europe

    It mentions downsizing, we are mediocre etc, these are things you object to, these are reality, yet when certain posters mention them, they have an agenda.

    The mind boggles so it does.

    The team and support when, on the same page are magical…imho.

    Tony….most of the fans that I talk to, want Ronny gone…but, they don’t hold him responsible for the distance between fans – team – board.

    Yer link pointed out about the club dizny pay the wages of 15 years ago.

    That is well managed outcome.

    But, almost 40 players on the books ?

    That suggests a sort of, jekyll & hyde type of approach to recruitment.

    I would nail it and call it….convenient deceit.

    Someone is onto a nice little-earner….imho.

    Someone is either through, incompetence or deceit…seriously draining Celtic’s resources.

    Who could that be ?

  5. These was a discussion on here last night about the pen RC got, I think it was a pen, some said the RC player dived, he may well have done, but if the sheepies players boot hadn’y been in his face he would have needed to dive out of the way of the boot.

    The intent was there, so it’s a pen all day long, end of.

    “The most critical person on Celtic that I’ve ever met is a guy who never, ever misses a game. Home, away, domestically and in Europe.”

    Yep, and I know someone who does likewise but who is less critical. It is not the frequency of attendance that determines that attitude. There are critical Celtic fans amongst the diehards, the average and the rarely or never there groupings. Just as those groups contain supportive fans too. At the moment, the generally critical group has the numerical advantage in each of those groupings. It is not, their familiarity with play that determines the attitude however. And some of the critical group have ire for the manager and the Board, some reserve their ire for one of these only, and some of the supportive group are supportive of the manager not the Board and some of the Board only.

    “Oh and he lives in Manchester.

    He berated board members outside the stadium after we lost 6-1 to Barcelona but cheered the team throughout the 90 minutes.”

    Yet, much of the criticism has been specifically about NOT supporting the team AT THE MATCH rather than an attitude after the game. I also saw two young seriously drunk guys, after one of our league losses last year, shouting out against what they imagined were The Board when they saw faces appear at a window in the Main Stand. Trouble was it was a few innocent bemused punters enjoying one of the Hospitality suites who got the abuse directed at them. Not every critic is a Celt to be proud of and not every supportive Celt is one to be ashamed of. And of course those terms include supportive people who can see our faults and still support our efforts and people who can understand the bigger picture but are still critical. There is no one true position for a “True Celt” to take.

    “Some on here would call him a Hun.”

    Who are those people? P8ddy must be about to call you out for a generalised un-specific attack, surely :-)

    “Telling everyone how great a Tim you are on a blog means nothing. Telling everyone to support Ronny means nothing unless you’re there. And slagging Celtic supporters who have concerns doesn’t make you a better Tim.”

    Who has been telling us they are a “Great Tim”? I have missed that. And who has been telling you that they are “Better Tims”? My reading is that people have given contrary views about how to support and those more inclined to criticism have taken offence at this and reacted with that inference. I could have inferred that you were promoting your Manchester guy, fine fellow that he undoubtedly is, as an example of a Better Tim or a Truer Tim, but I don’t and I won’t because I am sure the individual concerned does not see himself in that light.

    “Some of you really need to get a grip.”

    Again, which “some”?

    “Or even just attend the odd away game before telling us how big a Celtic supporter you are.”

    Ah! Is that the test? That would explain why we have such critical Aussie contributions on CQN? Of course it is not and I am being (mildly, I hope) sarky there. Going away with Celtic is a great and pleasurable experience- it supports the team but actually gives no monetary value to the club. The away support are, generally, more supportive of the team than the grumbly home crowd but some of those home attendees sacrifice more and travel further than some of our away fans.

    As a happyclapper, I have concerns about aspects of our play and about our financial position. I remain sceptical that all of the critics have got it right but I do not doubt that all of them are as good Celtic men as I hope to be and some are better.

    However that applies to the RD defenders and even to some Board defenders, Equally.

    There are people on both sides of that divide who need to “look at themselves” or “get a grip”. There are more than forty shades of green on here but they are all pleasant colours….

    Well maybe not that fluorescent lime green one.

  9. Remember the League Cup semi against Ross County, remember the RC player wrestling Gordon at their second goal? Apparently that didn’t matter because RC had a free header, it was difficult for Craig Thomson to spot and anyway RC scored another goal after that…

    It will be good to read that warped criteria being trotted out to quieten down the bleeting.

    Tyvm for trying to clarify but I’m giving up. No matter which way I try it, every time I try to isolate the plusses, you know the number of decisions over a period of time that have benefited Celtic, I always get zero or one. Something is defying all logic. Some outside influence is mucking up my calculations.

    My post was borne out of frustration, not just with posts on here, but across the social media world.

    There is no yard stick for measuring the ‘bigness of your Timness’. In my eyes my da was the biggest Celtic supporter I’ve known but living in England meant his visits to watch the team were rare.

    This new argument, that if you display any criticism of Celtic then you’ve been swayed by the media, is a phenomenon particular to the Internet. When was this ever mentioned in pubs and buses in the past? I certainly don’t recall it.

    My initial point was that the guy I referred to would, in the world of cyber Celts, be accused by some fellow supporters, of ‘harming’ Celtic. That’s ridiculous.

    Here’s the quote again, with what I get from it.

    Willie Maley;

    ““It’s not the creed (religion) nor his nationality (and politics?) that counts. It’s the man himself.”

    16 Roads at 9.26am;

    “Dharma Bam – The quote is very powerful.

    16 Roads at 6.57 am;

    “The Christian faith teaches us to forgive.

    The Communist on the other hand is without compassion.The Communist heart is both cold and cruel.The Communist is vindictive and without soul. The Communist will always seek out retribution and revenge.

    Pray for the sinner,pity him even – but don’t you set yourself up as judge, jury and executioner.”

    People matter, not their labels; you get good and bad Christians, and good and bad Communists.

    Now, do you see how I think Willie Maley’s quote is very relevant to your stated views and in opposition to them?
